I was thinking between 200-300 spins lost in its 8th Day Effect tomorrow but based on this it could well be hovering around 100~ or lower. They can always splice together syllables and words from other parts of the song. They can be creative. But would they be allowed to? I would think that Taylor would have to approve of a different version of her song being played that changes the meaning of her song. Bleeps are one thing, but word changes are another. They would also need the vocal track to clip the syllables cleanly, and also they would need to have the instrumental to remove "gay". I really think the person who claimed this either made it up or just misheard. I forget if I already mentioned it or not, but the hit and the way she sings "gay" makes it a little hard to hear that she is actually singing "gay". I feel if I hadn't heard the song and was just passively listening to it on the radio in the car, at work or while shopping, I might not even notice her saying it. I wonder if this was intentional, like a tiny Trojan horse to get the word gay being used in a not homophobic way on Southern radio stations/radio in general

I think this is a sure-fire number 1. A case where message will carry it even if the music is just okay.
It seems from what I can tell so far that Taylorโs change last era is permanent. Itโs not interesting to me, it takes away by originality she had. Interchange with Katy Perry or any other number of pop stars and I see little difference except Taylorโs voice is probably a bit weaker.
I liked her better as a song writer.

Now those are some massive updates. Given callouts for this are good/average I could see this being her biggest hit since "Wildest Dreams".

I donโt expect the 8th day effect to be big since it didnโt have a first day deal so this will keep riding up. Curious to see how far it goes though!

How does a radio station even change the lyrics without Taylor actually singing it and sending them a radio edit? Unless they spliced together her vocals from somewhere... She says "lame" in ME! so they could've spliced it from there, or from the Picture To Burn radio edit that replaced "gay" with "lame", or somewhere else? The Picture To Burn edit actually changes "I'll tell mine you're gay" to "You won't mind if I say". Not lame. I think this rumored Alabama edit is a hoax, though.

"Delicate" has been getting some massive updates ever since YNTCD dropped. It had the second biggest audience update today (behind YNTCD), according to Kworb's Billboard Radio Songs Estimates.

It got a +1 format. I think it's just exiting and re-entering the recurrent chart of Mainstream Top 40. It's #47 on Top 40 recurrent songs at the moment with 3.615 audience. It is getting a nice boost on Spotify though! It was #178 on Spotify US on the 19th. That puts it ahead of In My Feelings, Girls Like You and Please Me. Maybe she didn't need that Cardi B remix after all? :kii: Also close behind Bellyache, Money and Nice For What - it could be ahead of those songs on the weekly chart.

I know the situation is different because that was a the hotly anticipated first single from Taylor, but I would still be interested in the comparison.

How do people feel the reception to the song has been amongst the casuals? I can't quite tell if it's connecting. Obviously it's better than ME! but that's barely saying anything.

I think the songwriting on reputation is excellent, and I suspect the songwriting on Lover will also be excellent. I wouldn't take the singles as an indication of overall songwriting quality. She is writing for a different genre now, so of course her writing has changed. What's great to me is that she is evolving as an artist. It would be boring if she just kept making Speak Now and Red over and over again. Instead she is trying news things. I know a lot of people have issues with the writing on this song, but honestly for me the writing is perfect for a pop song that is meant to be radio and streaming friendly.

if radios in alabama censor gay with lame how did they react to "step on *his* gown"? or is there no info on that?

Why are YouTube counts low? This is catchy and classic Taylor. I'm not sure but the US views are actually really good, about the same as for ME! Canadian views are similarly good too. However the Asian views are very low and even UK views are relatively low.

The YouTube numbers are ridiculously low. I mean, even if the video is banned in certain markets, only the hype and the cameos shouldโve brought it to 100M views in 5 days. This hasnโt even reached โME!โs first day numbers. Somethingโs up

As much as I like the song and Taylor's Video. The Youtube Video views are much lower than "Me!" had. The First Day numbers were 60% lower from what "Me!" did on it's first day. For what should of been a Event music video, it has seemed to go the opposite way. At least it's getting a big debut on next week's Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart,Let's see if this can hold on from there.
