Lost 1 day of tracking, no music videos, no radio deals, so def not expecting him to dethrone OTR.
Hopefully No Guidance goes top 10, then he can go top 10 with these.
He's at 33 top 10s, and The Beatles have 35, sooooo if he ties or passes them that'd be awesome.

Taylor should debut Top 10 for sure in my mind. Drake probably gets one song in the Top 10 as well or maybe two like with the Scary Nights EP.

If Drake could get Diplomatic Immunity into the top 10, he can get both of these tracks in for sure. Especially with the weak top 10 we have.

New T. Swizzle single is a miss. Why is she letting me down like this? She's 0-2 now :(

Ah hope the Toronto hype will lead the new Drake tracks to record breaking meme status, just to prevent OTR reaching the record number of weeks at #1 on Hot 100. Which is thanks to memes itself.

I like the powerful statement that Taylor makes in her new song, I just think there is something missing from it that makes it a hit...

Ah hope the Toronto hype will lead the new Drake tracks to record breaking meme status, just to prevent OTR reaching the record number of weeks at #1 on Hot 100. Which is thanks to memes itself. Depends on the kind of songs he drops. With Drake you never know. He could go several places with his songs. If they're both songs where he's just straight rapping, then you can bet they won't be hit records. At least, not records that'll be catchy enough to compete with OTR. On the other hand, if this is another God's Plan/Diplomatic Immunity situation where he drops one single that's really catchy and radio friendly and another that's a straight rap song, the general public could push the catchy song enough for it to get a full single treatment. We'll know for sure when both songs drop. I hope both of then can debut in the top 10, though. If No Guidance debuts in the top 10, too that'll take his count to 36 top 10 hits, just 2 shy from tying Madonna's record of 38 and 3 shy of breaking it.

Also, prepare for some sort of XXXtentacion collab Tuesday, it’s the anniversary of his death.

This should really happen in the Canadian Hot 100, but I wonder will it happen in the Hot 100 too? I mean the "Old Town Road" hype is over and Mariah+Boyz II Men deserves to be known as the holders of the 16-week #1 (and so does Fonsi/Daddy Yankee/JB)

I can't wait for that Drake's song, just to be blocked by OTR. Song 'bout horses by Nicki's stan and Miley's father is blocking these A-list artists. Definitely the most interesting year of the 2010s.

On one hand I kinda don't want OTR to break the record because I would love for it to be broken by a song I actually enjoying... on the other hand I'm burned put on Drake and wish he would just take a break...
So any outcome is fine I guess?
Taylor's song is a non-event.

Definitely the most interesting year of the 2010s. I want Drake to reach #1 but not before OTR breaks all records possible because it deserves to reach 16+ weeks at #1 (IMO).I wish that UpTown Funk! or Closer could've reached 17 weeks, let's see if OTR is the song that finally breaks that record.

Drake for two in the top 10! Maybe one will be a banger and go #1. I doubt it tho. I think these will be less poppy than any of his Scorpion singles. Excited to hear the Rick Ross one.

I've decided to include this article in this thread:
The new Ed Sheeran-Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes songs are receiving warm listener reactions at pop radio. by Brian Cantor
Two of the year’s highest-profile pop radio singles are resonating with listeners at the format.
Per the latest Mediabase/Critical Mass Media callout report, Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber’s “I Don’t Care” and Shawn Mendes’ “If I Can’t Have You” are among the best-scoring songs at the format.
The report, which is based on a survey of listeners, says that “I Don’t Care” is receiving a positive reaction from 64.6% of listeners, a negative reaction from 13.4% of listeners and thus a “net positive” score of 51.1%. The song meanwhile boasts a “favorite” score of 23.6%.
Of the 18 songs featured in this week’s report, “I Don’t Care” boasts the lowest (best) negative score and the #2 net positive score. Its positive rating is the eighth-best. While its favorite rating is below the median (at #13), that can partially be explained by the fact that it is still very new (and thus has a fairly low level of familiarity).
“If I Can’t Have You” meanwhile has a positive score of 66.9% (#4), a negative score of 16.4% (#4), a net positive score of 50.5% (#3) and a favorite rating of 28.0% (#9).
Both songs currently hold Top 10 positions on the official Mediabase airplay chart.

Also, prepare for some sort of XXXtentacion collab Tuesday, it’s the anniversary of his death. Judging by the chart success of his recent songs that got full first week, it won't do anything.

I like You Need To Calm Down more than ME!, but it has no radio deal, the video only comes out in a few days, and less hype overall, so I don't see it debuting as strong as ME! (ie definitely not #1).
We'll see about Drake, his songs might go #1 in Canada but do any of the Americans care about the Raptors' win?
