I have Billboard predictions for this week on my Twitter Page right ow so I’m gonna go off of those and predict the Top 10 For 6/29/2019 right now: 1. Old Town Road 2. Money In The Grave 3. Omertà 4. Talk 5. Bad Guy 6. You Nees To Calm Down 7. I Don’t Care 8. Sucker 9. Wow. 10. No Guidance If Drake himself ends up getting blocked by OTR...just wow. If someone told me a year ago that in a year new singles by Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, and Drake would be blocked by the debut entry of an unknown Soundcloud rapper, a country-rap spoof featuring BILLY RAE CYRUS nonetheless.....I wouldn't know what to think actually. I would recommend they go to rehab for sure because they must be smoking some serious s**t. This is so epic the unthinkable might almost happen. I might even start liking the song!! |

If someone told me a year ago that in a year new singles by Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, and Drake would be blocked by the debut entry of an unknown Soundcloud rapper, a country-rap spoof featuring BILLY RAE CYRUS nonetheless.....I wouldn't know what to think actually. No matter how much we already knew about music industry, we still can't discover entirety of it. We can't predict everything of it and I think it's kinda beautiful and unique. 2019 to me is full of events no one (or, at least, a few of us) expected or would have even thought about. OTR domination and Billy Ray Cyrus at #1, Ariana becoming the streaming monster, Jonas Brothers comeback and #1 debut, Shallow going #1 because of The Oscars... Just wow! |

Taylor is going to release her music video tomorrow. So she is definitely going to a top 10 debut!! Nicki Minaj is great she has more than 100 songs on the hot 100 and still not 1 number one song (James Brown has something close to that🤔🤔🤔). poor nicki. Alot of people haven't hit #1 tho. Its okay. Those people aren't artists whom have collaborated with almost every mainstream/commercial artist imaginable, from both the Digital & Streaming eras, and still can't score number ones. James Brown may have scored 100+ Hot 100 entries and no number one song, however I'm sure that if he had collaborated with or featured on songs by some of his other successful 1960's/70's peers ala. The Supremes, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder etc. he would've hit number one too. No shade... |

Missy Elliott doesn't have a number one hit either (not as a credited vocalist anyway) and has tons of collaborations. Nicki's in good company. Of all the things to criticize Nicki for (many of them greatly justified), not having a number one seems like the most basic low-hanging fruit to grab at. Because in the end, who cares? There have tons of extremely successful, iconic artists from all over the world to never hit #1 on this one particular chart. All a number one is is having the most popular song based on a point system for one arbitrary seven day period. It's cool to have, but a peak is meaningless in the grand scheme of things.
Are we just gonna forget all the countless artists with nunber one hits that no one even talks about anymore? Taylor Hicks, anyone? Like, come on now. This "criticism" is nothing short of lazy and crass Twitter standom garbage with large doses of not understanding the point of a music chart.

Gonna go ahead and predict that unless the Nicki track is a major step-up from Queen, it'll sell well for a couple days and then stall.
Don't understand why the Twitter Barbz would go for Lil Nas, plenty of room for his EP and her single to co-exist. Her biggest competition is Cardi and she's releasing underwhelming stuff lately.
The Spotify numbers are kinda low for Drake so far... but they could always grow once more people find the tracks.

Nicki has multiple multi-platinum albums though, she writes her own songs.
"Superbass" and "Starships" were both top 10 on the year end charts and bigger than some #1s.
So if she "only" has two top 3 hits, that's still a pretty big accomplishment.

Clearly the issue at hand here is that Nicki claims she’s the Queen of whatever, yet can’t even top the Hot 100. Many musicians, especially in rap, claim to be royalty of something. Nicki is not special in that regards. Again, plenty of things to criticize and hate Nicki over. That's not one of them. |
