Heidi Newfield Already having made a name for herself as the highly energetic frontwoman of country trio Trick Pony, Heidi Newfield decided upon a solo career, and in November of 2006 announced that she was leaving the group and going it alone. The Heldsburg, CA-raised Newfield was exposed to the music she would make a career out of at an early age. In 1996, she joined up with Keith Burns and Ira Dean to form Trick Pony. The group would go on to release a handful of Top 20 singles, and won an ACM Best New Artist Award. I only see one true bottom song and it's not one I even dislike just not as fond of it. Everything else gets regular rotation from me!
So happy to see Elizabeth and Jessi included since they haven't been featured before in a rankdown!

Taylor Swift When she was just 14, Taylor Swift and her family moved to Nashville to help pursue her career in country music. Swift was at an industry showcase at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe in 2005 when she caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, a DreamWorks Records executive who was preparing to form his own independent record label, Big Machine Records. Swift became one of the record label's first signings and soon began working on her self-titled debut album that would be released in late 2006. It's debut single, "Tim McGraw", would also become her very first Top 10 country hit which was followed by four more successful songs including "Teardrops On My Guitar" and her two first number one hits "Our Song" and "Should've Said No". For her early success, she would go on to win the Horizon Award at the CMA Awards, Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards, and receive a nomination for Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Swift's second studio album followed in 2008 with it's lead single "Love Story" selling over 18 million copies worldwide, therefore establishing itself among the best-selling singles of all time. Four more singles were released throughout 2008 and 2009 including "White Horse", "You Belong with Me", and "Fifteen".
Because so many of Taylor's songs have already been featured in multiple rankdowns I decided to select the song "Fearless" as it seemed to fit best into the overarching theme of the rankdown.

It should come as no surprise that Kanenrá:ke is the first one in with their list and from the looks of it this is going to be very interesting! I can't wait to see where this goes from here but y'all still have plenty of time as this isn't due until Sunday, September 8th. Jessica Simpson's "Come On Over" is a song that I almost included in the rankdown but decided to leave out to make room for other more established fellow female country artists. The song is co-written by Rachel Proctor who does happen to be showcased in the Country Girls of the 2000's with "Me and Emily". "Come On Over" was most recently featured in sabre14 's 2008 rankdown, however, where it ended up coming in at #84. Participants: 1. Kanenrá:ke 2. tim

This is just a friendly reminder that we are now two months away before this is due on Sunday, September 8th! It'll be here before you know it so best to get a head start Miley Cyrus is another artist I considered for the rankdown as she had a Top 25 hit with "The Climb" in mid 2009. This was most recently featured in zaclord 🌈 's 2009 Country Year End Rankdown where it was able to muster up a #38 ranking. Participants: 1. Kanenrá:ke 2. tim

I am ready to do this but then I saw it is the intro of When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues being added to the Spotify playlist... Good catch lol! I actually rarely use Spotify (I prefer Apple Music) and really only use it for the purpose of making playlists for my rankdowns to post here. Anyways...I’ve updated it with the song! Edit: Oh and on that note the only song not available on Spotify was “Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love” by Trisha Yearwood...there’s no audio version on YouTube either but there is one of her singing it here.
