So y'all expect Lil Nas X to carry on with this momentum? I mean I know Panini and Rodeo charted decently already but he's (probably) never gonna come close to OTR-levels again. You could say that about virtually every artist with hits this big. Lightning generally strikes only once - no where to go from here except down.

So did Nas X and the team do other tricks than the 17th week video?
Considering the ever widening gap on airplay and the decrease in streams with nothing properly new out, it might actually be close.

Looks like the Week 17 video is flopping... Doesn't matter, he's getting 17 weeks.

I mean Beyoncé never matched the success of irreplaceable but I’d say single ladies had the greater impact

It won't really be that close, as OTR is a tiny bit ahead on Spotify, "bad guy" is seemingly falling fast on Apple Music while OTR is rebounding/even, and we all know how YouTube goes. "OTR" would have been #1 at streaming without the Thugger/Mason remix. OTR will likely get Digital Sales by a %35-40 margin as well. Radio diff can only make up for so much, I believe we have a new record holder in our hands

Even now OTR logged the 23rd biggest week of the streaming era, topped by only 4 other songs

Billboard low key/almost confirmed a 17th week for OTR in the article... “With no songs appearing likely to blast to the top, as Swift's "Look" or Dion's "Because" did, or to debut at No. 1, and with "Bad Guy" possibly regressing significantly in the second tracking week for its Bieber remix (moreso than "Road," given the greater gains for the former on this week's charts), the stage could be set for "Road" to rewrite history with a 17th week at No. 1 on next week's Hot 100, dated Aug. 3 and whose top 10 is scheduled to be revealed next Monday, July 29” JB's remix added ~15k downloads and ~19M streams. It's gonna lose at least half of these numbers next week. According to the official numbers, bad guy got ~46,500 points this week. That's 12% less than OTR had the week before (15th week), so maybe OTR would've been #1 this week without the YT/MS remix and for sure it was gonna be #1 next week (August 3). EDIT: Jesus... sometimes I get lost in this "last week, this week, next week thing..."

How do you know it didn’t? It is one the many songs that get played so often you would think it was a single. 76% of US radio stations added Michelle by the Beatles based on Cashbox Magazine airplay charts, Jan 1966. Thanks, that works even better! That's funny, other than Nowhere Man I would have guessed In My Life would have received the most airplay, it seems the most familiar from that album. That makes me wonder how other album tracks of theirs fared on these Cashbox airplay charts? Do they have archives anywhere?

Weekend is always good for OTR so the on-demand streams it gets on Friday/Saturday don't represent the whole week.
But anyway, I was just stating that Youtube streams can be unpredictable if OTR has no remarkable versions out.

Well, Ed isn't wrong on the point that his latest project is out of his usual wheelhouse. He usually makes a certain kind of music and he tried a whole bunch of things on this project (which didn't always work, but still). But he's wrong by saying it didn't get any promo when he shot videos for numerous singles and sent tons of them to radio. He got the most playlist support an album has ever gotten on Spotify and his label did lots to promote the album overseas and in the states.
I'm guessing this is his way of saying "this is just a side project so don't be so disappointed with the numbers."

And it's not even that different, he has always flirted with famous musicians. His second US hit was a duet with Taylor Swift.

He's definitely rapped before and he's definitely worked with rappers before. The things I can say he hadn't tried before until this project would be working with R&B artists on actual R&B-sounding records and the rock record he made with Bruno/Chris Stapleton.

There's been what I can only imagine is a glitch on Billboard's site for the past couple of days. It's impossible to view the charts histories of any artist now.

In their first week, "÷" had 450k and "x" 210k, I think he expected something between these 2, probably 250k-300k. Numbers in the US and UK are still great, but not for him. But this project is still a win for him, #1 in 13 countries, I Don't Care, Beautiful People, Cross Me, Antisocial, South Of The Border are/will be hits (probably). Yeah, he had SOME promo, but nothing comparable to "÷", and ofc that Spotify will promote his music (whether he wanted that or not), he's the most followed artist on this platform. Also, people who thinks that this album/project is similar to his old music are wrong and they know it.

Wonder if anything major will be released this Friday, that could potentially stop OTR's run at 17 weeks.

So who's gonna dethrone OTR???? At this point, you have better chance at dethroning it than all the artists that have tried.

Go to www.americanradiohistory.com/Billboard-Magazine.htmHalf way down the page on the left are thumbnails of various Radio based magazine archives (Radio & Records, Gavin, etc). Cashbox is one of them - just click and go to the year you want. Rubber Soul was late 1965 through 1966 - Michelle listed Jan 8 (I think). Back then they had a sales based Top 100, but also airplay lists showing which songs were played by radio stations based on percentages - so not the cut & dried airplay numbered rankings we are used to these days.

There's been what I can only imagine is a glitch on Billboard's site for the past couple of days. It's impossible to view the charts histories of any artist now. Also, if you can even see them, if you click an individual songs, you also get weird results such as this:

Yep, he loves to brag and compare his fame to Beyonce and Adele every chance he gets, so of course his would be his reaction to an underperforming set. (Tho I don't think it's underperforming that much, it is a weird project.)
I'm unsure whether he knows what a "Single" means at this point, because he declared ANISOCIAL the second single when they sent 5 songs to radio before that
