Well... Hopefully this will teach Scooter Braun to S•T•F•U and not brag about “number one debuts” until at least 5-6 days after a single is released. The trolls are out and Grande is literally getting dragged all over Twitter as we speak. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭 Not that I think stan twitter dragging anyone is news at all, but this did make me laugh: Scooter needs to calm down Well from the very first day when I saw the video and listened to it, I knew this one was amiss. I've been rooting for Ariana to take down OTR but was disappointed with Social who?? and the Thank U Next repeat hum alongs. So yep, I couldn't support it. I would support ONE LAST TIME over that any day.

I'm just glad songs off Care Package charted. That's REALLY impressive considering the fact that there are several artists who drop new albums and don't even chart up to 3 songs on the Hot 100. Here is Drake, charting SEVERAL songs that are up to 8 years old. A legend.
Drake charted six songs off Care Package:
#58 - Trust Issues #60 - How Bout Now #61 - The Motion #68 - Dreams Money Can Buy #85 - Club Paradise #95 - Days in the East

I know the situations for each song are different, but it's incredible when you look at all the major artists who have released new singles during Old Town Road's run and not been able to dethrone it: Taylor Swift Ed Sheeran Justin Bieber Shawn Mendes Cardi B Drake Post Malone Ariana Grande... It reads like a who's who of A-list Hot 100 artists from the last few years, all held back by Lil Nas X. Crazy.

Most songs stalled at #2 and blocked from #1 as well as longest running #2 without hitting #1 under the same song - could happen LOL

Sure, but many of them still had chart point totals that would have made them #1 in most weeks. There’s no way to deny “OTR” is huge. For this 19th week at #1 it has a point total higher than when “Sucker” was #1 and higher than weeks when “7 Rings” was #1 (“Bad Guy” with its current stats would have been #1 some of those weeks too).

There’s no way to deny “OTR” is huge. True, but still, if they released a little later in Lil' Nas X's run on top, then they would have had it (Taylor "ME!", Ed/Justin, Ellish remix).

I'm gutted that the (awful) Bieber remix was released that week, should've waited a fortnight.

Sure, but that’s true of a lot of songs over the years. We all know there are weaker weeks and stronger weeks. It just feels like criticizing the singles of those artists is an attempt to discredit the run of “OTR.” The reality is “OTR” has had a very strong points total every week it has been #1.

Never discredit the run of Old Town Road at all, just saying its all about the timing and some single choices can hurt those artist chances of going to number one.

Fear Inoculum is TOOL's second song to ever chart on the Hot 100, their first was Schism in 2001 which reached #67.

That's cool that Tool charted with a 10+ minute song, their first week sales might be big.

That's cool that Tool charted with a 10+ minute song, their first week sales might be big. It's crazy, the song was #45 on Spotify a couple days ago. It's a 10 minute rock song from a 90's metal band who have barely charted, was not expecting their comeback to be this big.

Their comeback was masterful, reminded me of how Beyoncé dropped Lemonade on Spotify the week HOMECOMING came out, sending a not-so-subtle message of "I never left, bish" or when Taylor Swift ruined Witness by releasing everything in her discography on streaming. Always exciting to see an old, dear album added to streaming.

FI charting even though it was released on Wednesday. Impressive. And to think FI is 4x LONGER than OTR. Imagine if streams were calculated by song length. I bet the album does incredible numbers.
Interestingly, the FI track will receive NO sales boost from the album release because it's so long it will be "album only." Even the single shows "album only" rather than an individual price, until you click on it to purchase.
