Unfortunately not; not since the threshold for top 50 went back up to a more normal level. There could be a sharp drop-off after #50, or the #51+ region could also have thickened up a bit as well. We could be lucky and it's really close, but without any idea about any other songs currently bubbling under I really couldn't say.

a week ago the #61 song had 112 spins so it should at least be in the top 60.also a week ago yesterday the #55 song had 215 spins.

I’m pretty sure I purchased this when it was first released.
I only use Taylor songs for a short time.
Most of them are catchy and have great melodies so I don’t know why I don’t play them more.
A lot of them sound similar to me and I’m not saying that in a bad way. Plus she puts out a lot of music for a casual fan.
I hope they do push this more, though I don’t LOVE it likes others do.

I think this will not only break the top 50, but eventually even challenge for top 10. The momentum is so strong at this point and it's not letting up. And we know Taylor would never let a potential hit die on the vine... she is certainly aware of what's happening and I'm sure there's a plan.
This song's journey is a testament to the force of fandoms and streaming. For 4 years it's been the #1 that got away when it (inexplicably) wasn't made the lead single of Lover era. But it lingered as a fan favorite, built a cult following and outstreamed the Lover singles, and now is exploding with the Eras Tour.
It's why I love this time in music consumerism, literally anything can happen and it's never too late for a song.

welp, HitsDailyDouble's building chart has this getting knocked off the charts and replaced by another song... hoping that's not what happens cause this deserves to smash Day 1 of the building chart is easily ignorable. There's always a number of songs littering the bottom end of the top 50 that really only have syndicated weekend play going for them. Those songs quickly fall out of the building tally as the songs getting actual regular daily play build up their spin counts. As far as 'Cruel Summer' is concerned this means nothing. |
