Her team mishandled everything. When something does not work as planned, you readjust or make changes as needed. What you don’t do is keep going even if it’s wrong. It’s ridiculous. But they didn't keep going. They ditched singles that weren't working and tried new ones. They heavily promoted the new ones to make sure they had a chance. The problem is that nothing really connected to the public.

It seems like they threw out a "new" single every couple weeks and there was no plan to see anything through. After everything failed seems like they fell back on Senorita (using that to push the era).

Her team dropped the ball on this era but My Oh My is her saving grace at this point and it's not going to be because of her. The main factor it's going to be a hit is because people like Dababy and will stream/buy anything with his name on it.

After everything failed seems like they fell back on Senorita (using that to push the era). They may have "threw" out a single every couple of weeks but ONE of those got a budget and radio deal. There was supposed to be a promoted hit off this album already. They tried it with "Shameless and Liar" I don't know why they didn't promote either of them except the deal I kind of think her label thought she was bigger than she is. OT but while watching the AMA's my friend looked at me and said "How did she get all these performance spots"....? She has got great management behind her but they may be shoving her in our face to much.

I wonder if people will care about this controversy. They didn't seem to care about those Facebook posts that people tried to dismiss as fake, and no one seemed to care when her little stans attacked Normani with those horrifyingly racist images and she was the only one in the group who didn't really reprimand them (she was the last to respond and it was a very vague remark). Not surprised by this exposure, but I'm kinda shocked she's fessing up to it.

And this girl is still making up excuses about it...lord. Ignorance is not the reason for you to repeatedly endorse racist/misogynistic/xenophobic posts (the Rihanna one is absolutely horrifying).
In case anyone hasn't caught all the receipts:

I'll never understand how these celebs don't think to like.... delete these things once they're famous? Or even starting to be remotely famous?
Like I deleted some (inappropriate but not racist, to be clear) tweets while I was interviewing for a job that paid $50k/year awhile ago.
I am curious if this will affect her at all. She has the "I was a teenager" excuse in her corner, which works for men, so...

I don't get the logic of blaming her team for every misstep. From the start of her solo career, she has been doing dual releases. The "I Have Questions" intro in "Crying in the Club" video, then "OMG"/"Havana". Clearly, it's a strategy that worked perfectly fine for launching her. With this era, they were essentially implementing the same strategy. The only difference was that this time, she was an established artist, so they had more resources to maneuver -- in the past, they would simply release two songs at the same time; now, they could land those two songs at SNL. You could talk about how they should've done things differently, but that was the clear agenda and you wouldn't know it doesn't work anymore until it doesn't. Plus Real Friends and Never Be The Same

What is happening? What is this racist controversy? A bunch of old racist comments made by her on her Facebook and Tumblr pages when she was 14/15 have surfaced.

...from Anti-stan twitter accounts of White kids who scream the N word with glee whenever it comes on in a rap song. Obviously, I don't condone racist sentiment, as a Black man in the US. That said, I believe in the power of change and growth/maturity. Eminem was on tape using the N word in a NEGATIVE way and I can't think of a SINGLE Black person, fan or not, who would call him a racist. In fact, quite the opposite is the case. I can walk into a project building and do a poll and be told Eminem is, if not the GOAT, at LEAST top 5. Meanwhile, Mark Wahlberg, back when he was f**king Mary Mark, was out here committing ACTUAL violent hate crimes towards minorities and...look at him now, working alongside them and feeling all kinds of love. These are WHITE men. Camila is Hispanic and not for nothing, this is not the first time I have heard about a Hispanic person saying something horribly racist. Usually, it is from the older generation, but I'm sure she grew up around it. What is important is what she has learned from it. I've never met the girl, so before it looks like I am carping for her or making excuses, it could very well be true currently. But, for some reason, I sincerely doubt that.
Edit: Regarding her use of the N word in texts: I have seen it on Pulse and I have seen it from trashy White guys I know. In most cases, they're druggies or have spent time in prison surrounded by lots of other Black guys and they think it's OK. Hell, I have seen Black guys call White guys the N word. I feel especially sensitive to this situation because I feel like I have had to sit White friends down and educate them on why Blackface is not OK or the use of the N word is problematic, etc. People need to be educated.

This is at least her third time apologizing...and considering how vile her Tumblr posts were, it makes the "faked", I believe Twitter and/or FB comments she made about Normani more believable.
In her Tumblr posts, she was like, virulently racist, I mean...watermelon, fried chicken, "run n**ga, run"?!? Really, Camila? And then jokes about Rihanna and even Taylor?
I'd say her only saving grace is that there was a Mexican joke thrown in there, and she's part Mexican. I think that shows she was just, and still is, extremely immature, more than she is racist. This might be too much to overcome. I don't want to see her fail, but honestly, she just looks like a bad person, too.

I told him to scrub EVERYTHING, because we didn’t want to take any chances because our friends tag us in a lot of bs. He texted me the next day saying Warner sent them to a media/social media presence training session and they advised everybody to start new. Notified them to just keep family and friends only for the time of filming. How she had a WHOLE Tumblr aside that she kept open is bonkers to think about especially being she’s been in the industry. From X-Factor to Syco/Epic, nobody thought to do social sweeps over your investment?

So much weird flexing going on, but let me add to the pile: When I got picked for Beat Shazam, where I got invited onto the stage by Mariah herself to lay hands on her, I got an email from Fox's legal team asking me to remove the "photos of blow-up dolls" from my social media accounts. I forgot I made my IG public for a hot minute. I just made all my accounts private/friends and fans only. Sorry not at all, but most of that shit Camila posted didn't even offend me. That is shit I see all the time on Facebook even, though mostly posted by other Black people. Hell, some of it was even funny and I know a lot of White people who are NOT racist and might still kiki because of how ridiculous it is. Hell, look at the shit stand-up comics say. Who famously called Michelle Obama "Blackie O?" Oh...right...Joan Rivers. A woman older than dirt when she said it. Yet, people legit mourned her death LOL. This world is a mess.

Honestly the comments aren't that bad Literally people say these things all the time in public, yet when some celebrity does it cancerous cancel culture comes after them.
Not saying comments of the sort are right but in one's very impressionable youth in which we make a lot of stupid ass choices, it can be overlooked
I thought this was gonna be far worse but its pretty tame and underwhelming tbh
The past is the past, if she were doing this shit now then yeah go cancel her. Aside from that, this some weak shit.

Aside from that, this some weak s**t. Not that bad? The dumb bitch retweeted extremely racist pictures of black people with watermelon and chicken, retweeted a pic making fun of Rihanna being beaten, called Normani the N word and more. She was 14-15 when this happened not f**king 7. And lol @ some people (on Twitter and another forum) trying to excuse her just because she’s Hispanic as if tons of Hispanics aren’t extremely racist. Racists are always sorry when they get exposed and it’s sad how most of her hits either feature and/or were heavily inspired by black people like Worth It, Work From Home, Havana and god forbid if it becomes a hit My Oh My. Tons of people like this bitch love using black people and culture for personal gain in the industry but deep down don’t actually like black people and I’m tired of it. So glad her album and tour are BOMBING and people are seeing her for what she really is.

I will make this announcement just once:
ONLY BLACK PEOPLE GET TO DECIDE IF CAMILA'S APOLOGY IS ACCEPTABLE.
period.
Business and PR-wise, I'd say she's not popular enough for this to make headlines, especially during a news cycle covering the 3rd-ever impeachment of the POTUS, and stan Twitter/Twitter in general is not everything. If Chris Brown and XXXTentacles still have careers, I'm sure Camila will be just fine.

I'll give her a bit of the benefit of the doubt and say she likes dark humor, and racist jokes. She thinks/thought it was funny, and doesn't really mean to harm.

If we're talking about the text screenshots, those were already confirmed fake by the person who made them, and the fact her facebook said Camila Cabello when it was Karla Cabello at the time.
But I'm quite disappointed to see her Tumblr resurface. I think there's a lot of growth that's obviously clear (such as the Something's Gotta Give performance on the Never Be The Same Tour) and she's obviously changed as a person, but it doesn't excuse the fact that she thought it was okay at all. She's obviously never coming back from this on Twitter (and her stans aren't helping at all... making a whole hashtag #IRegretTooCamila literally admitting they were racist and homophobic and all these things??? The f**k is wrong wit y'all?
It's quite annoying that people are acting like she acts like this today, cause it's obvious that she doesn't. Cancel culture is toxic because you forget people can grow and she's a prime example. What she did wasn't okay, but she knows that and the only thing she can do is do better.
And as previously stated, if you're white you're not the ones who get to accept the apology because it is NOT FOR YOU.

good god
she is a literal PR disaster. probably the worst possible time for all this to resurface. when news of her failing arena tour really start making headlines its gonna be a Subway wrap. The anxiety of her team must be through the roof

I'm not really in the camp of demonizing people for things they said when they were 14/15. Like, the VAST majority of people that age are edgy as fuck and say whatever to get attention. Why does Camila deserve an extra level of hostility because she happens to be a celebrity?
