Don't any of her haters start pouring the $8 champagne they can barely afford. This is a girl who got a Grammy nom for a live version of old ass Havana na na na, so anything is possible. Either way, she made one of the best pop albums of the year. Hell, maybe one of the best albums of the year, period, honestly. Not only is this miles above her boring debut that sounded like some Miami Disney and acoustic ballads that no one asked for. She was not capable of Dream Of You on her debut. She was not capable of Shameless. She was CERTAINLY not capable of Living Proof. She also experimented with horror-core ( My Oh My and Bad Kind of Butterflies) and 50's prom style (This Love). The strangest thing to me is how Finneas produced the weakest songs on the album. I wasn't expecting that. But, I guess he is really loyal to Billie and wants to make sure she gets his best production. Fair enough. Also, I realized I would like Señorita more if Shawn weren't on it. He literally adds nothing and is so lackluster, which is a shame, because I LOVE his last album to pieces. Anyway, I can play this album from start to finish. I could easily stop after This Love, but the last songs aren't even bad, just...forgettable? They are the only things on the album I consider filler. Everything else has its place. Since she is apparently a plant, she will probably get a Grammy nom for Pop Vocal Album LOL. I would GAG.

Idk why but the hand claps on Living Proof are something my ears decided to pick up on and I don't like it Anywho
I think one issue I'm getting from this album is that I actively am only seeking 1 of the non pre-release tracks for multiple listens Which is My Oh My, the rest I have barely come back to barring all the pre-release tracks
Which is strange cause as a whole, I like this more than her debut But with her debut I constantly came back to She Loves Control, Into It, and In The Dark
Though I do love the highs of this album to death, which is Shameless, Liar, Easy, and Cry For Me more than I did with anything on her debut

It sounds like a Meghan Trainor B-Side. Please don't be a single.

I thought this would do around 90-100K. I'm sure her team have something up their sleeves though.

Not surprisingly. Camila did 119k (65k pure) while "Havana" was at its peak. I'm even a bit surprised by the 50k pure sales, is there some kind of bundle? There’s a tour bundle, with the album. Havana was at its peak during her debut week so that helped SPS but her debut was also released 1st quarter when sales are slower than the 4th quarter shopping season. All things considered those numbers are decent. She’s doing less numbers than Halsey and Selena, but still around that range.

Living Proof or My Oh My better get some adds today, or I'm gonna flip out.

I dont see any artist growth or progression from her debut. A few tracks clearly intended to be singles and some lackluster filler. There's nothing wrong with it, but I probably won't seek it out.

All things considered those numbers are decent. She’s doing less numbers than Halsey and Selena, but still around that range. Which Halsey album is that? I'd say both. Romance saw sharp declines though (-32%) at the 80K high-estimate. That's pretty poor for a 4th quarter release with a tour bundle, actually. However, with no hit single, and hit pre-release promotional album tracks (Camila had Havana at its peak during album release week, the song and album hit #1 the same week, NBTS and Real Friends were released Dec. 7th) it's expected. Her pure sales only dropped by -15% compared to a 32% overall drop. Poor streaming really effected her sales, even with Senorita which peaked a while ago. Hopeless Fountain KingdomHopeless Fountain Kingdom debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 106,000 album-equivalent units, of which 76,000 were pure album sales. Badlands
Released in 2015, “Badlands” sold 97,000 pure US copies and generated 115,000 total units in its first week. Camila
Camila‘s 119,000 copies – 65,000 of which were traditional album sales Romance
50-55K US copies [pure]. With units from track sales and streams included, it should generate 70-80K in total first-week consumption ( -32% first-week decrease compared to Camila). On another note, just for comparison, Rihanna's sophomore album (A Girl Like Me) almost doubled the sales of her debut (116K vs 69K). And Selena Gomez's best first-week sales week was Revival with 117K. This album just suffered from songs that didn't really connect. All those wasted performances on Living Proof and Cry for Me. Neither resonated as well as NBTS - which was a big hit, and even Real Friends I would say. She had Senorita which can be argued is just as big as Havana, number-wise, but I don't think people connected that song as being for her album, and she didn't have good enough follow-ups that resonated with the public to really make people interested in her body of work this time around. I honestly, hope her tour doesn't flop. In theory, her streaming numbers for some of her singles (Havana, Senorita, NBTS, Bad Things) make her appear as a big artist, but I think album and first-week sales correlate more to tour success than streaming, I could be completely wrong.

I don't see the problem here. She isn't selling albums but so didn't Rihanna until her last album. In fact, Rihanna had the vast majority of her #1 hits before having a #1 album. Camila had one of the biggest hits of the year but it's not that strange that Señorita isn't bringing album sales - it has happened in the past for others.
On another note, I don't hear any hits on the album. She wanted to release a concept album way too soon in her career and it backfired.

On a positive note, the album score has gone up from high 60s to 71 on Metacritic. YESSSS. I would give it at least an 80, but that's just me. These songs are just so great and full of passion and conviction. I also love her ad-libs, like the end of Cry For Me and Living Proof. Also, the opening to Living Proof is so cute with the African field recording sample. The clapping is right in line with the African-style instrumental, too. Queen of Diversity and World Music!

Living Proof and Shameless in my opinion are the best songs on the album. Don't understand why they gave up on Living Proof and never sent it for adds.I guess they feel that adding the featured rapper to My Oh My will help it get more streams. Now because of the end of the year freeze, My Oh My won't go for adds until early in January.

My Oh My is the new single. I dont get why they gave up on Living Proof. Because it was performed multiple times on national television and still didn't connect? Hell it didn't even chart on the bubbling under chart, it's not that hard to see why they deserted it. Whether you like the song yourself or not, the fact is, it didn't connect it's not helping sell the album so of course they are moving on.

Living Proof was on TTH and still didn't even make TOP200 on Spotify...it really really wasn't clicking.

Yeah LP despite the promo went under the rug My Oh My made a splash into the top 50 of Spotify already, so it makes sense that they are placing there bets on that

The failure of Living Proof, despite some amazing performances that she sold the hell out of, really saddens me.

Currently price-slashed to $5.99 on Amazon ($8.99 on iTunes) in a last-minute ditch to boost sales.
