“Heart Over Mind” was released as the third and final single to Lorrie’s fourth studio album War Paint. A top 40 hit in late 1994, this becomes the final song from the album to exit the rankdown. This ended up greatly exceeding my expectations as I wouldn’t have predicted that this would’ve been as well received as it was. This had a steady climb as it made its way into the top 20 as everyone but three put this in their top 30. This continued to gain support along the way picking up three top 15’s and two top 10’s from .indulgecountry and @xfer . Why don't I remember "Heart Over Mind" from when I made my list??! This song is really catchy!! That instrumental arrangement is particularly awesome, and her vocals are awesome too. Plus I love that little unexpected key change heading into each chorus. Clearly my #27 rank is an indicator of how strong this list is, because listening to this song in isolation it feels like it should have been higher than that. Nice surprise seeing this in the top 20! Honestly this is kind of how I feel about the song overall...only when I listen to it am I reminded how catchy of a number it is but yet I always seem to forget how it goes after that. I'm not quite sure why this song never caught on or why the War Paint era was so underwhelming for her. It seems you forgot something else about the album, lol. Your Top 15!Back in Your Arms Again Except for Monday Five Minutes Go Away Good as I Was to You Half Enough I Didn’t Know My Own Strength I Guess You Had to Be There I’m Not That Easy to Forget If You Came Back from Heaven

Kicking off the Top 15 is a song that everyone put in their top 40! With its exit we'll see five participants lose a top 10 ranking and one top 5.

“I’m Not that Easy to Forget” was released as the third single from Lorrie’s sixth studio album Shakin’ Things Up and was a minor Top 50 hit in early 1998. This had a bit of a rough start as it received three rankings in the mid to lower 30’s, it was able to rebound once its first top ten came in from someguy who was followed-up by bboat11 with another. Its ascent into the top 20 continued as it picked up two additional top ten placements from @induglecountry and toomuchboy as well as a top five from @xfer . It almost finished near the middle of the top 15 until getting sent back a couple spots when the final list came in from ClevelandRox who was the lowest ranking participant.

I Guess You Had To Be There might leave too, but I hope not Unfortunately yes I just stood there my heart poundin' I couldn't move, all I could do was stare I kept rememberin' when we used to look like that Two people with so much to share And as I watched you with your new love I haven't seen you that happy in years We've drifted so far apart and it's hard to admit it But there's nothin' left for you here 14. “I Guess You Had to Be There” Total: 249 Average: 20.75 Std Dev: 12.14 {Songs Remaining}Back in Your Arms Again Except for Monday Five Minutes Go Away Good as I Was to You Half Enough I Didn’t Know My Own Strength If You Came Back from Heaven Out of Your Shoes Something in Red Watch Me We Both Walk What Part of No

“I Guess You Had to Be There” was released as the third single from Lorrie’s third studio album Watch Me. It peaked at #14 on the country singles chart in early 1993 which is the same position in which it leaves the rankdown. This is also the first song from Watch Me to exit. This more or less remained a top 20 contender for much of its run only dipping outside of that a few times when it received its first ranking outside of the top 30 by @jordanstaey and a head-scratching bottom five from George Strait Junkie . For the rest of us, we all put this in our top 30 and it picked up quite a bit of support with its first top five from taylor is terrified along with a couple top 15 and top 20 placements. Yet again the final two lists ended up shaking things up quite a bit as it received its second top five from toomuchboy and a third top 20 from ClevelandRox which propelled this into a top 15 finish.

The third song to leave this evening comes in as the fifth most polarizing song as it received two second place rankings and a lone bottom five.

“If You Came Back From Heaven” was released as the second single from Lorrie’s fourth studio album War Paint. This comes in as the fifth most polarizing song of the rankdown and becomes the final song from the album to exit. After initially starting out in the top 15 it immediately got sent back as it received its first of three rankings outside of the top 30. It managed to quickly recover, though, as it picked up its first top ten from Kanenrá:ke only to be sent back to the bottom of the top 20 by bboat11 . It jumped all the way back into the top 10 as it received not one but two second place rankings from @xfer and taylor is terrified . That allowed it enough room to withstand a lone bottom 5 ranking from toomuchboy and this still managed to make a top 15 showing.

Two blows to my top 5! If You Came Back From Heaven is just delightful, beautiful. Sad to see it so close to the top 10 and not being there I'm still baffled how this song pretty much stalled out at country radio and was also one of her lowest charting singles during the prime of her career. This was one of my mom's favorite songs back then as it came out just a few years after the passing of my dad, so I remember hearing it quite a bit around the house. Speaking of the Top 10, let's move on with the reveals!

“Half Enough” was released as the fourth and final single from Lorrie’s third studio album Watch Me and peaked just inside the Top 10 in late 1993. After starting outside of the top 30 this quickly jumped its way into the top 20 where it remained for the duration of its time. This even briefly flirted with the top 10 a couple of times thanks to the top 5 support it received from RobbyFlorida and castleoblivion26 . It briefly took a step back, though, when @xfer came in with its only ranking outside of the top 40. It remained steady, however, thanks in part to almost everyone putting this in their top 30 and a majority giving this support in their top 20.

The final song to be revealed tonight is a painful one as two participants (including myself) have to say goodbye to their top ranking song. It also comes in as the fourth most polarizing song overall as a lone participant put this all the way down in their bottom 2 (how do we even still have bottom 5's remaining this far into the rankdown???).

“Out of Your Shoes” was released as the third single to Lorrie’s debut album Leave the Light On. The song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in December 1989 becoming her first Top 5 hit. One of the more painful reveals is having to see this leave just before the top 10, especially for myself and RobbyFlorida who become the next two participants to depart with their top ranking song. We also see ClevelandRox lose a top 5 along with three others departing with a top 15. This somehow comes in as the fourth most polarizing song, though, which is baffling considering everyone but two people put this in their top 25. It was never quite able to recover from @xfer ’s bottom two ranking (like…seriously?!), but it did gain enough support towards the end to inch ever so closes to being in the top 10 where it rightfully deserved to be.

Completely nailed my predictions for what would miss the top 10 And as sad as it was to see some of these songs go, I feel like this is largely the correct top 10!!!!

"Half Enough" deserved Top 10. I love that song! This song has just never clicked with me in the way like some of her other songs do. It was a solid hit for her then, however, and I remember hearing it all...the...time on radio!

"Half Enough" is my only top 10 loss so far (my #3!) but that being said the song that made the top 10 that I did not vote into my top 10 I definitely under-ranked and am happy to see it in the top 10! Not sure what I was thinking when I put my list together lol

"I'm Not That Easy To Forget" is insanely catchy! I can't believe it was a bit of a flop, and I am also really sad that I cannot easily obtain the song... Super stoked to see this in the top 15, and be so universally loved, because I thought it might be lucky to make the top 30 based on how relatively unknown it is. "I Guess You Had To Be There" is among Lorrie's all-time greats. The vocals are pristine, and the way the story unfolds a little bit at a time is masterful. I totally saw the twist coming at the end, but it was still really strong and well done! "If You Came Back From Heaven" is pretty good, but I am honestly shocked to see it get THIS much love. Mostly because it seems to be such a forgotten hit. A song like "Dear Me" would have made more sense in this position. However, this is also an indicator that this song should not have been done so dirty by radio, because it definitely has a strong following despite its flop status! "Half Enough" is undeniable catchy goodness. I would have been happy seeing it in the top 10, but I am also not surprised to see it miss. This missing the top 10 is totally an indicator of how strong her top songs are! "Out Of Your Shoes" is a noteworthy song to me because the vocal arrangement is very unusual for her. From the very first line of the verse, which starts higher than you would expect, the entire song keeps her in the higher regions of her voice. She sounds so sweet and dainty for much of this song, whereas I feel she is usually more known for the rich depth of her lower range. I played this the other day and my dad actually asked if it was LeAnn Rimes! Lol! And he is correct, it does sound much more like an early LeAnn Rimes song than a Lorrie Morgan song. She slays it though!!

Sorry I missed today's reveals--the coronavirus anxiety got the best of me and I needed to give myself the day away from my devices and just breathe. It was great self-care, I recommend you do it when you get overwhelmed. toomuchboy that rank for "If You Came Back From Heaven" is definitely.....an opinion. I'm quite upset that it isn't Top 5 and I wouldn't have been upset to see it win. What a beautiful song all around. That means I'm rooting hardest now for my #3 and I hope it wins!!!

That is pretty much why I haven't done any rankdown reveals for 2-3 days now... This virus s**t got me hella distracted!! I know you love "If You Came Back From Heaven", but given how iconic so many of these songs in the top 10 are, it never had a prayer of finishing in the top 5... This would be like "Don't Forget To Remember Me" sneaking into the top 5 of Carrie's singles while beating songs like "Wasted" and JTTW, or Martina's "There You Are" sneaking into the top 5 and beating songs like "My Baby Loves Me" and "Concrete Angel"... Lol And I have a feeling that your #3 is the same as my #1, based on your comments, so.... I think I'm rooting for it too!!!
