#1 on iTunes for a day is not what it used to be.
But hey, it's a great result for 2019 Xtina. Whether it sticks, we'll see.

Circles should repeat, which I'm happy about but it could've had a 4-6 week run if not for getting blocked the last 2 weeks

Falling is #7 already on Spotify although Sunday streams are very low as usual but still. Seriously I literally just found out that this song exists and it's already above Dance Monkey and SYL on spotify, probably gonna be roxanne two just a few weeks after

Music video was shot for "Blinding Lights" last night, here's hoping that they'll give this the full push on Friday. All depends on how quickly the video can be edited. If the single is really being released this Friday, I don't see how the video is ready by then. Directors can shoot videos quick, but editors need at least a week to turn in something good. Plus, the Weeknd is very particular about his videos. He might not be satisfied with the first cut they bring him. It won't matter anyways. If the song debuts and has longevity, whenever the video comes, it'll just act as a boost.

With songs like Roxanne, Yellow Hearts, and Falling gaining momentum very fast, it would be interesting if 2020 has a large number of Tik Tok generated one hit wonders.
Obviously it’s too early to call any of those artists one hit wonders, but it seems like Tik Tok is going to usher in a ton of one off songs that make it big on the app in the same way Vine gave us Nasty Freestyle and Juju on that Beat

I’ve been seeing a decade mashup on Twitter today being retweeted. It made me think, is there a chance someone makes a big decade mashup and it becomes something that charts near the end of the year. It would be kinda cool in a way to see.

I like Fall on Me, I hope it can stick around. Christina Aguilera should really be doing more of these type of songs, her voice is perfect for it. I think it's better than chasing what's in with the young listening crowd.
Does Good as Hell or Memories have a shot #1?

She can make songs like these in her sleep (The Voice Within, Beautiful, Lift Me Up, and Bound To You), and while flawless, she needs more Impossibles and Like I Do’s. She even got in Rap/Sung this year so there’s clearly support!

Audiences always react positively towards her live TV performances but radio pays her dust. It’s such a shame. I think from the early 2000s radio darlings, no one has been treated as badly as her by radio programmers this decade. Britney, J.lo, Beyonce, Pink, and hell even Avril have found support somewhere on radio, even if minimal. Which is ironic because Xtina was the top female artist at radio during that period (1999-2004.)

If Roxanne keeps making gains like it just did I think it might challenge for number one this week or the next one.

She even got in Rap/Sung this year so there’s clearly support! Even if Aguilera is to go the ‘UAC’ route, she would need support from that format/audience to garner any form of success. The Rhythmic/Urban/Urban Adult-Contemporary audience have rarely, if ever, supported her. Her most Urban-oriented single “Can’t Hold Us Down” was barely a top 20 hit in Rhythmic airplay and didn’t crossover to Urban radio at all which is rather ironic because I specifically remember Hot 97 playing it heavily back in 2003. “Beautiful” was also barely a top 20 hit on that format as was “Ain’t No Other Man”. Pop and HAC have always been her biggest supporters, and they barely play her (solo material) at all now unless she’s attached to a bigger, more current name or they to take a chance on a random collaboration she’s done that’s a hit in other metrics (AGBW: “Say Something”). I agree with you overall though. “Impossible” is literally my favourite song of hers in her entire discography. If she makes more songs similar to that it’d be great. I’m still angry by the fact that “Slow Down Baby” wasn’t officially released during the “B2B” era. 😒

Britney, J.lo, Beyonce, Pink, and hell even Avril have found support somewhere on radio, even if minimal. Which is ironic because Xtina was the top female artist at radio during that period (1999-2004.) The only one of those aforementioned artists that have found consistent success on radio with their ‘solo’ material this decade is Beyonce. Urban/Urban Adult-Contemporary/Rhythmic radio still keep her atop their playlists whenever she releases a single which even works more in her favour given how much Urban music has crossed over into the charts (once again) now in the Streaming era. It’s Pop/Mainstream Top 40 radio that’s completely abandoned her and she never was even a quasi-staple among HAC/AC radio. Avril Lavigne has been a loss among most radio formats since the early 2010’s, although AC/Christian based airplay formats are playing her music now given the new sound/direction she’s taken on. Britney Spears has never been a consistent radio darling though she’s had spots of big success among Pop radio here and there since the mid-2000’s ex. “Toxic/Womanizer/3/Hold It Against Me/Till’ The World Ends”. J.Lo’s biggest airplay success between 2003-Present was “On The Floor”. Only Xtina has had multiple top three U.S radio hits overall this decade: “Moves Like Jagger” (#1) and “Say Something” (#3) albeit she’s the featured act. 🤔

If Take What You Want went #1, Post would come out with a rock/death metal album as soon as next year. Y'all will regret encouraging these Hollywood's Bleeding singles, you'll see.

I don’t know that 1 day of doing well on iTunes (especially the past few years) is an overly strong measure of much.

I wonder if "Blinding Lights" and "Heartless" will get the "Starboy" and "False Alarm" treatment or the "Shape of You" and "Castle on the Hill" treatment, here's hoping for the latter.
