Why not Cry For Me?? Cry For Me is one of the best songs on the album.

idk if im crazy, but i really dont think it was that unwarranted? radio is just really slow. we could trash harry styles' label for sending "adore you" to the top, because as soon as it got the published number one, it collapsed. this is most definitely not "look what you made me do"-tier bullshit

We've seen "push weeks" - a perennial reality at country - creeping into other formats quite a bit lately. It's just the reality of radio these days. May not be ideal but not definitely not something exclusive to Camila Cabello and My Oh My.

On top of that, this is her only single-week/non-smash #1 ... so I'm not sure what "yet again" would even mean.

Not going to pretend the drop doesn't look bad, but I also think My Oh My was victimized by radio not responding quickly enough to its initial success on streaming and iTunes. By the time the song was within striking distance of #1, it was already old news - and its consumption numbers were well off their peak. So of course radio can't keep it at the top of the charts for a month.

We saw something similar with Ingrid Andress' "More Hearts Than Mine" at country. That song was connecting for many months and never should have needed a "push" to #1 ... and never should have suffered a ridiculous airplay crash once it got there. But since radio wouldn't let it get to the top until it was well past its prime, its final ascent to #1 ends up looking bad.
 
This is how radio works in some cases, which means you can't always take a week-by-week look at whether a song "deserves" to #1. You have to take into account the full scope of its run.

The record company probably had to abandon plans to commission remixes given that there are no clubs and stuff open for DJs to play remixes. But there really haven't been that many official remixes of Camila songs in general.

TBH, I wish every song dropped like this when it was done, in order to clear out the top ten for newer music at a quicker rate. I feel like pop radio moves way too slow for the current streaming environment, especially where the top ten is concerned.
