It's more than a lack of willpower on the person and more than the person liking the satisfaction of their vice. People don't get addicted just because; they're addiction isn't in a bubble, there are reasons that lead them to those vices.

For God's sake, can we please exercise some empathy and understanding for someone who just died?

Wow I just checked and Juice only turned 21 on the 2nd of this month. I hope his songs make a huge impact on the hot 100 this week. Mariah always has another year at hitting #1 or even next week for that matter. So I'm unsure as to why there were meltdowns. An interesting chart week nevertheless. R.I.P Juice I saw him live on the 1st of January this year in Sydney.

This still isn't quite as bad as when X died and SAD! was in contention to go #1 (I was a lurker back then but I still could see how much sheer animosity there was). Rapper deaths just bring the worst out of a vocal minority here. Most people here have been very respectful though.

With X some people had genuine reservations about him as a human being (with the court trials and all). I don't condone how people treated it then but I guess some people had reasons. With Juice there's literally no reason to be so nasty and insensitive. He hasn't put a foot wrong apart from his drug problems and so many young people have the same problems and he gave voice to them.

yeah I know people who saw him in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago which makes it all the more surreal to me

I didn’t want to weigh in on this side discussion, but the fact that no one’s mentioned an important aspect forces my hand. It’s been recently revealed that the incident stemmed from Juice and his team getting reported for bringing dozens of pounds of marijuana along with Percocet, bottles of codeine, and guns on their flight, with Juice panicking and taking the Percocet, either to hide the evidence or potentially to kill himself before he could be arrested. Now that quantity, of the marijuana alone, suggests that that was not a personal stash but rather a delivery, either to his team or to a dealer. Either way, this establishes him as a drug trafficker, and greatly reduces my sympathy for him. I know he was battling his addiction, but he clearly didn’t care about how addiction could hit the eventual clientele.

Which is all to say I hope this death effect only affects this week with any degree of notability and I for one am rooting for All I Want For Christmas is You to take the crown so that we don’t immortalize a dealer for basically dying from dealing.

Ok, I dislike saying much on topics like these, especially since it’s derailing, but some of these posts are annoying me so I thought I’d drop my 2 cents. This is all I’m gonna say, and leave it at this

Juice has been battling addiction for years, and the way people have the decent and sheer ignorance to say “it’s his fault” are absolute fools. He knows it’ll kill him if he continues, so why would he? Not because he thinks “it’s cool”, but because he’s f**king addicted. Addiction isn’t something you can fix instantly, it’s something that people take years to deal with, it’s a serious issue. I’ve had friends who’ve had their lives destroyed by addiction, and it’s not a pretty sight. Juice has stated multiple times in interviews that he’s been trying to get off of drugs, and has successfully done so before unfortunately, relapsing.

And as for more on the specific situation, it’s worth considering Juice was going to another one his birthday parties in Chicago. 70 Pounds of weed is quite odd, but isn’t too surprising. Besides, I don’t see why Juice would drug deal, he’s rich and doesn’t have any “street obligations” - it just seems silly. It’s also worth noting that he wasn’t the only one on the plane, so blaming it all on him is unfair.

Besides, even if Juice WAS directly involved in trafficking, how exactly does that make him a bad person? Ok, he was “bREAkInG tHe LaW”, but that doesn’t discredit his character morally too much, he wasn’t causing any direct harm to anyone. If he was transporting f**king black tar heroin, I guess I could see why you’d be mad, but it’s just weed which is more or less harmless.

Some people let things as minuscule as this discredit his good acts. Giving his fans his phone number to let them talk to him about mental health, donating to several schools across Chicago, paying college tuitions of fans, etc.

As a fan, the situation itself is really upsetting, and the man is now gone. So please, some of y’all need to keep your opinions to yourself about some stuff, because it’s just really easy to get under people’s skin with sensitive topics like these. You don’t have to show fake sympathy, but you also don’t have to say anything if it’s not nice, let the man rest.

And as far as addiction goes, PLEASE seek help as soon as possible if anyone is suffering from it. And please speak up if you know anyone suffering from it, urge them to get help. The sooner, the better.

I doubt Juice Wrld personally dealt drugs. That'd be so destructive towards his career and there's no way he could have kept it secret. As for the marijuana, first of all the science these days is pretty conclusive that it's less harmful then alcohol or tobacco. And it was probably one of his buddies that was dealing it anyway. Now it's speculation but he probably took the Percocet to hide the evidence and overdosed from consuming a copious amount, but probably not an amount that implied he was going to deal it.

I personally think that once AIWFCIY gets its #1 spot, Billboard needs a major change in its formula to prevent more Christmas songs from charting higher and killing the non-holiday songs chances to rise on the Hot 100. That’s my personal take.

Recreational marijuana is legal in California and not yet legal in Illinois. The line of thinking is pretty damn obvious. That doesn't make him a drug kingpin. Even if it did, that's no reason not to feel sympathy for him. Jesus christ this thread.

Sadly, I agree with this. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Mariah to score her 19th #1 with her most popular song ever (so fitting!), and break all sorts of records. But once that's done, I really don't look forward to the same songs charting again and again every holiday season, or even Mariah hitting #1 year after year. I love her to bits, but you can absolutely have too much of a good thing.

Even if I don't care Juice WRLD's music that much, no one should die at such a young age. He wasn't a bad person he just got caught up in things he shouldn't have. My heart goes out to his family and friends and i hope he's in a better place.
