I feel like Drake and Post Malone will be at a legendary standpoint for the newer generation in the following years. Artists like Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, Billie Ellish (maybe) and Shawn Mendes (maybe) would be able to be close to legend status, but not enough compared to the 2 smash hitmakers; similar to some of the 80s-90s acts that were huge but not as iconic as lets say Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston I agree with most of this, but you lost me at Shawn Mendes You think Shawn "I love it when you call me Senorita" Mendes has legend potential? Im flabbergasted I think both The Weeknd and Shawn will both be irrelevant in about 2 years. I think the next artist on her way out is sadly Ariana. Charlie's Angels was a disaster and nothing after 7 rings really caught on. Also, i feel like Lizzo pronably wont have much success after maybe 2020 but with her it could really go either way

The days of legends are long gone. It's just a different time now. Things are so different.

wtf is that supposed to mean? Kanye is one of the most critically acclaimed artists of all time tell me where i came for his artistry? i agree kanye is a talent artist (from 2004-2013) but now... anyways saying 2019 didn't have any good hits just clearly shows that ur taste in music is stuck in the past. I guess what you're saying is that your opinion is actually FACT and everyone who disagrees is stuck in the past? Once again, take several seats, you're embarrassing yourself.

2019 was honestly a non-event when it came to albums. Billie, Posty, Maggie Rogers, Summer Walker, Tyler the Creator, and DaBaby had good albums but I still think this year is one of the weakest for albums this decade. Starting to think a lot of big artists just decided to just wait until 2020.
The only thing about this year that was interesting to see was so many different #1 hits post-OTR. That was cool.

I think Drake peaked with Scorpion for sure. I think Scorpion was Drake's Teenage Dream album, and his next album will be a Prism album: still a very successful album but nowhere near as successful as the last album I feel like streaming inflates a lot of what can be considered an artists "peak". To me Drake's peak is Views, now that was a massive ERA. Scorpion's ridiculous album bomb won't change my mind lol.

Post Malone, Billie Eilish, and The Weeknd are going to be looked back on as legends in 10 years.
Halsey is probably going to have a similar career path to Nelly Furtado
I don't think Lil Nas X's career isn't going to last long after 2020, but he's more likely going to go the way of T-Pain rather than Gotye. He'll just do something weird once in a while that'll just make people think "oh yeah, I remember that guy" while still pumping out music for a much smaller fanbase
If Dua Lipa survives this sophomore slump she might be able to become a legend in the 2020s

I'll say we all just wait another 15 years before we start talking about who's gonna be a legend and who's not gonna be, we'll have to just wait and see.

I feel like Lil Cray-Z, Ally Wild, Horse Eleven, Jukebox Nostalgia Band, Tim Raymond, Lauren America and James Grander will be the biggest stars of the next decade.
I just made up all those acts but they are just as good guesses as everyone trying to predict who will be popular in the next 10 years...

I'm not seeing Lizzo growing anymore, I feel like she and Cardi are people with bombastic personalities that ended up outshining their music. I think Lizzo's relevancy on the chart will be cut not too long after 2020, just like Cardi kind of just stopped charting so high after 2018. Lizzo also seems to be propped up more by the radio with the success of Good As Hell coming so much from it, definitely different story from Truth Hurts

I think Shawn Mendes has legend potential if he has it in him to make some huge bold statement in his next album and have a George Michael type of career arc. But that’s highly unlikely.
In the small case this does happen at least I’ll have this comment here to look back on in 2030.

She was everywhere in 2017/2018.

Cardi has definitely proven herself to be a one trick pony, and if she doesn't switch up her sound and flow soon, I see her becoming a relic of the latter half of this decade. Ironically, for all the talk of her surpassing Nicki last year, I wouldn't be surprised if her next album sells less than Queen at this point tbh.

She hasn't "fell off the map", she hasn't even release and EP let alone album, so how it's even possible to fall without new music flopping?

Iggy Izalea of 2018 It's not THAT bad, she already has way more hits than Iggy managed. And I think she's secured her status as a celebrity for years to come, just maybe not as an A-list artist.

The decade is not yet over and we are proclaiming a lot of career deaths already lol
For what it's worth, Cardi B's celebrity status had a boost this year with the movie Hustlers. Yeah her part is small but those who mentioned her in reviews really liked her so maybe she has future with being an actress who knows
I agree that she's very charismatic though and I enjoyed her part on Hustlers.

Fell off the map? No, but she's clearly in a vulnerable position right now given how her last singles and features have underperformed. Her honeymoon phase is over and she's gonna need to switch it up because her name alone can't carry songs as it could back in 2017/2018.

People on this site can't even predict what'll happen in one week (on the charts), but somehow the same ppl are supposed to know who's going to become a legend in the next 10 years? Please, you guys… wait until 2025 for this discussion lol. It's already been established you guys can't even predict for the next week, let's not jump the gun and try to predict for the next 10 years

My Oh My climbed 7 spots on Spotify weekly chart on its second week so that's a potential hit for Camila.

I dont think anyone is predicting Heartless to be Top 20 but im sute. Its not supposed to be a huge drop like last time though. I think Heartless actually could be a real hit, its still gaining on radio so it may re-enter Top 10 at some point

Lol now Cardi fell off why do people forget she has a daughter at home she's raising plus aside from please me , press wasn't a single fans begged for that to be released, Wish Wish would've been a hit if DJ Khalid didn't fumble his own bag releasing just us as a single despite wish wish being the highest debut out of all his songs, Writing on the wall had a bad timing barely no promo from french , South of the border had potential but it should've not been the last release off No.6 , and lastly YES did flop. Sorry for the long rant but it must be said.

OK maybe Cardi didn't fell off completely, but you can't deny the hype around her is on the decline this year.
