Hope Uzi gets that top 5 debut. Radio needs to pick up on the song though.

BILLBOARD HOT 100 12/28/2019 FINAL PREDICTIONS:I changed some more variables in relevance to my early predictions: 1) radio/7500 + sales/5 + weighted streaming/1500 became radio/7500 + sales/6 + weighted streaming/1500. 2) 1/4th of YouTube streans are now worth one full point (due to the YouTube subscription), rather than 2/3rds. 3) Passive streams are now calculated through Pandora's radio spibs (the rest of the song's streams are UGC and are counted as free streams). 4) The amount of on-demand streams that are counted as free streams has been varied based on how much of a song's on-demand streaming is from Spotify (songs weaker on Spotify compared to overall on-demand streaming have less of their on-demand streams as free streams). So with that, AIWFCIY leads with about a 20% lead over RATCT. #6-#10 are tight in points. I have Jingle Bell Rock at #11 with about 22,500 points. they froze charts at the end of the year in the 80s? huh. i had no idea I was aware of that because they used to do the year-end Hot 100 instead of the regular weekly American Top 40 on my local radio.

I never understood how Look Away by Chicago was the #1 song of 1989. Super weird.

^It simply had the best weekly performance in the chart year. :)
As a comparison, here are the top singles of 1989 based on Billboard's Top Songs of the 1980s revamped methodology. This would take into account full chart run, not just that covered in the chart year:
1. Another Day In Paradise, Phil Collins 2. Miss You Much, Janet Jackson 3. Straight Up, Paula Abdul 4. We Didn't Start the Fire, Billy Joel 5. Right Here Waiting, Richard Marx 6. Lost in Your Eyes, Debbie Gibson 7. Don't Know Much, Linda Ronstadt/Aaron Neville 8. Like a Prayer, Madonna 9. Cold Hearted, Paula Abdul 10. Blame it on the Rain, Milli Vanilli

they froze charts at the end of the year in the 80s? huh. i had no idea From Dec 1976 until they started using Soundscan and BDS monitoring in the early 90's, Billboard didn't publish Christmas week. Instead they "froze" the charts for one week and so everybody who was on the chart the week before, simply kept the same exact positions for the following week. Once BDS and Soundscan took over, Billboard still didn't publish during that week (the executives at Billboard also used that week to take their own Christmas vacations), but the data was now electronically collected and would be updated in the next published issue. Now with the internet, they still take the week off but you'd never even know it, since the site is usually updated soon after the new charts are ready to be unveiled.

December 26, 196401 02 I Feel Fine - The Beatles (1st of 3 weeks at #1)02 01 Come See About Me - The Supremes 03 03 Mr. Lonely - Bobby Vinton 04 14 She's a Woman - The Beatles 05 04 She's Not There - The Zombie 06 07 Goin' Out Of My Head - Little Anthony & The Imperials 07 05 Ringo - Lorne Greene 08 08 Dance, Dance, Dance - The Beach Boys 09 12 The Jerk - The Larks 10 06 Time Is On My Side - The Rolling Stones The last Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit of 1964 was appropriately enough by the most popular and successful group of the whole year; the Beatles. Complete unknowns in the USA just a mere year earlier, The Beatles had sold over 25 million albums and singles during the year, which in 1964 was an astronomical amount. They had brought on what would become known as The British Invasion where many other British groups and individuals would follow them to America, hoping to have just a piece of the success that The Beatles had enjoyed. For the record when I Feel Fine hit #1 for the week ending December 26th, 1964, it was the Beatles 6th #1 hit of the year; a record that still stands today. The closest anybody else has ever come to the Beatles 6 #1 hits in one year is a few artists that have had as many as four in one year (including the Beatles themselves). In addition, not only was the A-side of the I Feel Fine single a hit, so was the B-side, She's A Woman, which managed to get as high as #4 on the December 26th chart all on its own popularity. It was the highest position for a B-side that the Beatles ever achieved on the chart. The Beatles would go on to win the Best New Artist grammy at the 1964 Grammy awards in early 1965; they would make another movie in the new year as well, and they would play Shea Stadium in NYC the following summer. And oh yes, they would also add on a few more #1 hits along the way.

December 27, 196901 02 Someday We'll Be Together - Diana Ross & The Supremes (1st and only week at #1)02 01 Leaving On a Jet Plane - Peter, Paul & Mary 03 05 Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head - B.J. Thomas 04 03 Down On The Corner / Fortunate Son - Creedence Clearwater Revival 05 04 Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye - Steam 06 09 Holly Holy - Neil Diamond 07 06 Come Together / Something - The Beatles 08 17 I Want You Back - The Jackson 5 09 12 Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin 10 08 Take a Letter Maria - R.B. Greaves Appropriately enough, the last #1 hit of the 1960's was by the most successful American group of the decade; the one and only Diana Ross & The Supremes. Sadly for the fans though, the song was also to be the last single put out by Diana Ross with the Supremes, as she had already announced her intention of leaving the group after a concert that would take place in January 1970. But in truth, it didn't really start out that way at all. Berry Gordy of Motown records (the Supremes record label) first heard Someday We'll Be Together and thought it would be a good record to launch Diana Ross' solo career. Diana Ross recorded the song without the other two remaining Supremes Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong, and once he heard it, Berry Gordy decided it would be a good final record for Diana Ross & The Supremes, even though the other two Supremes never sang on it. This was not unusual for the time. After Florence Ballard's departure from the group in 1967, and the group name change to Diana Ross & The Supremes, only Diana actually recorded her vocals in the studio; the other two Supremes were replaced by studio singers, and only sang in live concert settings. So it turned out that the last Diana Ross & The Supremes single, did not even have the other two Supremes actually singing on it. On January 14, 1970, Diana Ross & The Supremes played a final farewell concert at the Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas. Once the show was over, Diana Ross left the stage and Jean Terrell was brought on as her replacement in the group. Diana Ross and the Supremes, the most successful American group of the 1960's, were no more.

Without the Christmas cockblock, Futsal Shuffle would have debuted at #3. Not bad for a guy who's previous highest peaking solo was #7.

With #4-10 being so tight, FS2020 can be either top 5 or #9. Shame that we don't have the HDD streaming chart yet (and probably never will have).

I am flabbergasted by that information about "Someday We'll Be Together". I knew "Yesterday" was all Paul, "Careless Whisper" all George, and that "He's a Rebel" wasn't even performed by the Crystals - had no idea about that one. And I deadass hate how The Supremes became Diana Ross & The Supremes, just cos I like things to be consistent (don't get me started on Puff Daddy - P. Diddy - Diddy - Diddy Dirty Money). garrettlen tbh keep them facts coming.
