Good as Hell #1 in Digital Song Sales. We'll see if it managed a new record-low for a #1 there.

"RATCT" hitting #2 is impressive af. Congrats! Congrats for Mariah as well.
Meanwhile I hear Mariah has released yet another video for "AIWFCIY" on top of the two (if you include the behind the scenes promotional that cleverly featured the song in full) already released. Between the videos, the behind-the-scenes making ofs, the documentary, the advertisemnts across social media, the televised performances I don't think I have ever seen her (or really anyone else aside from maybe TayTay) push a song so aggressively. I just keep wondering what is the point when it and every other Christmas song has 2 days left before falling off the chart and it likely would have secured the same position without it all? Can't fault her for milking it I guess. lol

Sheβs doing all of this for a damn 25 year old Xmas song, and let β#Beautifulβ, βA No-Noβ etc. gather dust on the kitchen shelf. Like...

In all the various articles I read across entertainment, business and traditional news media about AIWFCIY finally hitting #1, not one questioned why the H100 included 'old' Xmas songs or that they should be excluded. This seems to align that the media (and probably the GP) accept that the H100 does capture the most popular songs of the week.
Glad to see Last Christmas break the Top 20. I wonder if we'll have first time re-entries this week? I fully expect to see a couple of holiday songs charting for the first time next week.

Going to point out that this is the first week in a while where the #1 song is ahead if the #2 song on ALL metrics (sales, radio, streaming). In many weeks, the #1 usually leads the #2 song in two metrics, but not all.

Itβs likely been at least a month now that everything else was planned too. I donβt think anyone expected the song to potentially spend 3 weeks at #1 this year.. it was all about doing everything possible so it could get even ONE week at #1.

The song has never done this well, and we didn't know if Rihanna or Adele would drop a surprise release. Plus, it's the 25th anniversary so some promo would be done regardless. They were doing all the could, and yeah, in the end it wasn't needed.

Yes, Brenda had a mature-sounding voice at 13. She did some recording even earlier, at 11- you can hear those on her Decca holiday-recordings album.
Brenda also has said she loves AIWFCIY, and that she'd like to tell her people to get out there so RATCT can get back on top. hehe

That has to be the dream of every musician - to have songs that live several decades after you made them. Yes. She recorded it at 13. Sheβs also has the βGRAMMY lifetime achievementβ award and the βGRAMMY legend awardβ and is in the βRock & Roll HOFβ, tying Aretha Franklin. Sheβs also in the βCountry Hall Of Fameβ. Sheβs also extremely humble and was even helping promote Civil Rights for Afro-Americans in the 1960βs. I love her. π£

It's so unbelievably amazing that we started the decade with Tik Tok and ended it with a TikTok song.
Some higher power that likes pop music is laughing his ass off right now
