20. Living on Video (25): I discovered this song recently thanks to a Pulse rankdown. Cute synth pop tune that had potential to be stronger, but needed some more varied melody for me to rank it higher... 19. We're Not Gonna Take It (16): This was a big hit back home reaching the top of the national charts -and my personal chart. Fun, anthemic rock tune with a great video that really matched the energy that I needed back in the day. It still has good national recurrent airplay, and I still have fun every time I listen to it. Classic 80s rock. 18. It's Raining Men (14): I don't think I heard it much in the 80s, but I remember hearing it quite a bit in the early 00s when Geri Halliwell released a cover of this song -and was a big hit especially in gay clubs 17. Talkin Bout A Revolution (30): I do like this, as it's a nice, compact, acoustic rock piece with good melody. However, I didn't find it that interesting for this RD. 16. You Can Call Me Al (18): A personal chart-topper and a hit back home. Nice pop song with subtle African influence. Great bass and percussion. 15. She's a Bad Mama Jama (32): Fun, funky song, but not that special to me. 14. Enola Gay (13): An 80s synthpop classic. It was a minor hit back home in 1986, but it became a much bigger hit by the turn of the decade. One of my favorite OMD songs. 13. Just Can't Get Enough (17): Another 80s synthpop classic. A live version was a minor hit back home in 1988, after a live version of New Life was a big hit. The melody is a catchy ear worm that is practically impossible to resist dancing to. DM has done much better after this, with songs that elevate the sound, but this remains as one of their most fun and simple pop tunes -in a good way. 12. Never Too Much (22): Quite a nice, smooth, elegant but fun song. Good melody and better vocals, and one of Luther's bests. It just didn't match the greatness of the other songs I ranked higher 11. Situation (10): Another great Yazoo song, and their biggest hit back home -followed closely by Don't Go. Another classic 80s synth pop that I've always loved and still like to listen once in a while. WOW! I'm legit surprised my top 11 is THE top 11. These are all amazing songs in my book, so I'll be happy with any at #1!

Fun fact, Wrip dmed me right before reveals started that he regretted putting this at 40. I was offering him a chance to edit his list if he wanted but he said it's okay. Oh well.

This was in one of my own personal rankdowns and it was only my 8 here. Which should tell you how strong my top 5 was.

Song number 9 is very interesting. This song had the highest SD for a few lists. Reason why because 2 people ranked it back to back 39 and 40. It was at 3rd place before their list and then after their list they brought it down to 10 with highest SD. Stayed at highest SD for a few lists then slowly started declining in SDs, finishing with the 8th highest. Those 2 ranks are the only bottom 10 ranks for this song too. On the other end, this song has 7 top 5 ranks, but none of them are top 2. So 7 of them are in the 3-5 range. What song could it be? Kind of surprised that it has no 1 rank.

I think it's "Video Killed the Radio Star". I kind of expected it to be polarizing.

And just like that, Wrip starts off the top 10 losing his 40 and 39. And now every 40 is revealed. There are still some bottom 5s left though.

Song number 8 also held the highest standard deviation for a few lists believe it or not. It ended up finishing with the 11th highest SD. A 1 is lost and 3 2s are lost. 3 bottom 10s, with one of them a 39. It would keep going back and forth in being top 10 or not.

Number 7 surprised me, due to having the 4th lowest SD and due to being only 1 of 2 songs to not have a bottom 10 rank. The lowest rank for this song is 28, it is the highest lowest rank. Someone loses a number 1 again. It only beat A Little Respect by 1 point.

I didn't really like this that much at first, but it grew on me. It really is catchy.

The last reveal of the day was also a song that kept going in and out of top 10. Actually the entire 8 to 6 was doing that and ended up making it at the end. This song is also a low SD, the 10th lowest. No number 1 losses this time and there is only 1 bottom 10 rank.

Top 5 is...
Bizarre Love Triangle It's A Sin Just Like Heaven Super Freak True Faith
One of these songs has the 5th highest SD. Predict the top 5 and the 5th highest SD.
I dunno when I will be able to reveal the top 5 and finish the Rankdown. Probably not tomorrow but hoping for sometime later in week.

Rooting for "Bizarre Love Triangle" or "Just Like Heaven" to win. I'd be content with "It's A Sin", too.

A #40 for this? This was an awesome discovery. Bronksi Beat made some incredible music. Lead singer Jimmy Sommerville has such a powerful voice.

There was a Bollywood remake of "Video Killed The Radio Star" that was a huge hit in India and it crossed over a little into other neighboring countries.

Well one of the remaining 5 I ranked much lower than the rest... My top 2 are still in so hopefully one of them wins.
