He looked SO good! I will say I wish they had given him a "real" stage. A true show opener moment. I have seen him live multiple times and that man owns a stage and a medley of his songs would have given him a great opportunity to really show that. I'll take what we were given though. And now - cannot wait for tour! Where are we celebrating?! You know I screamed when she said “Water...” lol. YES! The noise that came out of my mouth I'm sure could be heard for miles. Lol

They really couldn’t get Beyoncé to perform, so they just threw her song over a video montage 💀

Taylor won with 3 different genres of music. That’s a pretty dope achievement. Just realized this. This is pretty phenomenal. How many other artist have done this--especially in the general field? Beyoncé, with nominations in the rock category.

I don't have a full list but Beyonce has won for Pop, Rap and R&B I think. And she got a nod for Rock with a Lemonade track.

Can someone explain how Taylor got more votes than Dua to win AOTY but the reverse for Best Pop Album? I kinda...don't buy it? Has that ever happened before? This exact situation has never happened before in AOTY. As mentioned before, Arcade Fire's The Suburbs won AOTY but lost Rock Album in 2011. However, the winner for Rock Album (The Black Keys, Brothers) was not nominated for AOTY at all, so it wasn't a reverse situation. AOTY is all voters, but pop album is only pop voters. So it is theoretically possible for one album to have more support within the genre while the other album pulls in enough votes from other genres to gain more votes in AOTY. It makes sense to me that Taylor would be the one person who could pull that off, because I'm sure she still gets support from some of the country crowd and maybe the Americana/folk voters too.

It was nominated in Pop Album, so as far as the Grammys are concerned, it's not 3 different genres. Yeah but come on. Say I work in country music. Am I gonna vote for folklore or Future Nostalgia? Those influences do matter when it's voting time. Good point. BUT I’m a tractor and I would vote Future Nostalgia over Folklore. 🤷🏻♂️

sure jan. y'all stay projecting your ignorance out there. If you go look at what others do vs Beyonce does, she barely campaign and promote for Grammy. you don't see her doing at all. but she seeks out? lol Also she was at NACCP 2019.and BET 2020(virtual ceremony). duh. Ain’t sure nothing. She submitted her work in everything as she always does. Where was she at those awards? I watched BET 2020 and don’t remember seeing her at all. and she never said anything about protesting, dissing, negative thing about Grammy in her whole life. she accepted the award and gave speech.

I have never really paid attention to the lyrics of Dynamite before... ![](https://media2.giphy.com/media/XdP2iT55kYiXI7GsNN/giphy.gif) And to think it was basically written in a lab with the push of a desperate label head that just wanted a track that could finally get them some radio play... ... and radio took the bait lol. Written with the predictive text feature on a smart phone.

I knew getting rid of Ken would vastly improve the broadcast and we'd be spared the forced "Grammy moments" that he wanted to happen every performance, but I had no clue that covid would be the star in making this a truly, imo, great show. I really hope that they can keep a lot of the intimacy from this show to when it goes back to normal/Staples Center. Great job Ben Winston, the whole team and all the artists that pulled this off.

Can someone explain how Taylor got more votes than Dua to win AOTY but the reverse for Best Pop Album? I kinda...don't buy it? Has that ever happened before? If this situation was going to happen it was definitely going to be with a pure pop album like Future Nostalgia and an album that appeals to several different genres like folklore. Pop voters preferred FN but overall folklore got more support, probably a combination from pop, country and alt voters.

Unfortunately your application has been deemed unfit and has instead been passed onto the pop hoe department. We apologize for the disappointment and appreciate your understanding.

Country, Pop and what is Folklore classified as? I don’t want to make assumptions based on the title, although it could be obvious. I keep seeing it labeled as Alternative and Indie Pop. Educate me, lol. Alternative Idrk what “alternative” is but I don’t think for one second folklore is that. Folk music, maybe. Folk pop.

Just realized this. This is pretty phenomenal. How many other artist have done this--especially in the general field? Quincy Jones has been nominated in the most fields (15); Paul McCartney is second with 12. Janet has the most fields for a female artist with 9. (Note, these numbers include the general field and fields that are not actually genres, like visual media and arranging.) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award_records#Grammy_nominations_in_the_most_fields

This isn't meant as a dig toward either of them, but it's wild Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are still a major focal point of the Grammys in 2021.

Not sure about winning, but Janet Jackson has Grammy noms spanning five different genres: Pop, Rock, Dance, Rap and R&B
