it's crazy how ahead of the curve they were. I remember in Let's Get It Started they have a wig joke and they mention "going stupid", both things that have made a comeback very recently. If Drake had made that song two years ago it would have charted just the same if not better. Right? It's like they got bigger with every album Elephunk - put them on the map with "Where Is the Love?" and "Let's Get It Started" would probably be a #1 hit in the digital era (crazy how a 2004 single sold 3 million) Monkey Business - "Don't Phunk with My Heart" became their first top 3 hit and served longevity, but "My Humps" served longevity and even made the decade chart The E.N.D. - No one was ready for this. 26 consecutive weeks at #1 is crazy, they owned 2009

This is getting ridiculous. Radio has to have less power in the charts. There is no way 10,000 Hours is more popular than Blinding Lights right now.

I agree that a chart of songs that people seek out deliberately would be a very different chart than the one we have, but there are plenty of reasons why on-demand streaming + sales are not the only things that are looked at in chart positions.

Yes, that chart is called Rolling Stones. Which is the alternative, but they also like to think that video streaming doesn't matter, so it's a straight no for me.
And completely removing radio is a no from me as well.

I'm sorry, but it gets on my nerves when people think radio shouldn't influence the charts. I hate to break it to you, but there are clear statistics which show that at least 90% of people still get their new music from radio. Which also helps with song familiarity. www.nielsen.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2019/06/audio-today-2019.pdfIf you want a chart entirely based on streaming (cuz let's be real, digital sales barely do anything now-a-days) you can look to the weekly streaming songs chart as your "Hot 100."

Billboard isn't changing it's ways we are all yelling a brick wall at this point plus we all know it doesn't benefit a certain genre because if it did they would've changed it already.

People celebrate the radio strength/longevity of the songs that they like and grumble about it when it's a song they don't appreciate. This should not surprise us.

It's not a surprise, it's just straight up boring. The RS chart is so flawed, I don't know why you'd want to remove radio. Not to mention the UK Singles Chart needing different weighing for songs after 10 weeks or so because the chart moved at a glacial pace.

I didn’t say Billboard should remove radio altogether, I said that Billboard should lower the influence of radio and give more power to a more relevant and popular music consumption, streaming.
