#23 - 'Til I Get It RightWriters: Red Lane, Larry Henley Origin: Tammy Wynette Remembered (Tammy Wynette tribute album) Year of release: 1998 Total Points: 191 taylor - 1 tim - 2 ccarter1023 - 28 .indulgecountry - 30 someguy - 41 castleoblivion26 - 41 bboat11 - 48 We lose a second consecutive tribute album song, as "Till I Get It Right" from Tammy Wynette Remembered exits at #23. Unfortunately, with that, taylor becomes the first person to lose their #1, and tim loses a #2. This proved to be one of the most polarizing songs on the rankdown, as bboat11 loses a bottom 5 as well. Two other people also put it below their top 40. Outside of our two top 2s, the next highest rank was a #28. Tammy's original version of the song was a #1 hit in 1972.

#22 - My Love Is Your LoveWriters: Wyclef Jean, Jerry "Wonder" Duplessis Origin: The Passion (soundtrack) Year of release: 2016 Total Points: 187 ccarter1023 - 2 someguy - 5 bboat11 - 22 castleoblivion26 - 29 .indulgecountry - 37 tim - 45 taylor - 47 We return to The Passion for our next song. "My Love Is Your Love" is a cover of the midtempo that would go on to become Whitney Houston's final top 10 at pop radio. I have always love this song, and think that Trisha did a fantastic job with it. It started off doing very well here, as I had it in my top 5 and ccarter1023 had it all the way up at #2. Unfortunately, it slid from there as no one else even had it in their top 20, and it missed two people's top 40.

#21 - One More ChanceWriters: J.D. Souther, Jack Tempchin Origin: Where Your Road Leads (international deluxe edition) Year of release: 1998 Total Points: 183 .indulgecountry - 16 tim - 17 taylor - 22 ccarter1023 - 27 bboat11 - 30 castleoblivion26 - 32 someguy - 39 Our final song to miss the top 20 is "One More Chance". The song was included as a bonus track on the international deluxe edition of Trisha's 1998 studio album, Where Your Road Leads. The song's more traditional sound really doesn't fit in with the moody, poppier feel of the rest of the album, so I definitely see why it was left off of the regular edition of the album. This was another song that was a middle of the pack contender throughout pretty much the whole submission process.

I LOVED Whitney's "My Love Is Your Love" and I never knew Trisha did a version of it. Someone described Trisha's as a gluten-free version of Whitney's. LOL! This was my big "find" from this rankdown and I absolutely love it. Thank you someguy for introducing this version to me!!

"'Til I Get It Right" has long been one of my favorite songs from Trisha. I was a bit intrigued as to why this song was included though if only because it was originally recorded for Thinkin' About You in 1995. I just hadn't realized that they also included it on a later tribute album for Tammy Wynette.

#20 - (You're The) Devil In DisguiseWriters: Bill Giant, Bernie Baum, Florence Kaye Origin: Honeymoon In Vegas (soundtrack) Year of release: 1992 Total Points: 178 ccarter1023 - 11 .indulgecountry - 15 someguy - 16 tim - 22 bboat11 - 31 taylor - 32 castleoblivion26 - 51 We kick off the top 20 with Trisha's cover of Elvis Presley's "(You're The) Devil In Disguise", from the soundtrack to Honeymoon In Vegas. Growing up, the local country station played this so much you would have thought it was a single for her. I love the energy that she puts into it. It's always been a favourite. Nobody loses a top 10, though ccarter1023 comes close. On the flip side of things, castleoblivion26 finally loses his second last place song.

The parent album is widely considered the best and most important country music tribute album. It won man awards, including the CMA Album of the Year, and was certified three-times platinum by the RIAA. tim loses a top 10 here, and all but bboat11 had this in their top 40.

The song is a fun uptempo, and would have added a nice balance to the original album. Looking back, I probably underranked it with my #30 placement. .indulgecountry loses a top 10, while bboat11 is the only person to place this outside of their top 30, with his #43 rank.

Three people lose a top 20, and everyone had it in their top 40.

With this exit, we see three people lose a top 10, all of whom ranked it at #9. This proved to be a little polarizing because, in addition to those, we had three people rank it in the 31-40 section. .indulgecountry's #17 was the only rank somewhere in the middle.

I had always thought that the version on the tribute album was re-recorded, but listening to them now they sound identical. I'm not sure why I thought it was a re-recording. Yea, I don’t think it was re-recorded for the tribute album as they likely put it on there since Trisha recorded it previously. I’m not complaining though as I’ve always loved that song! It was great hearing it again because I haven’t revisited that album in some time. “(You’re The) Devil in Disguise” has always been one of my favorite Elvis songs, so I went into this with the bar being set rather high for Trisha’s cover. Although hers isn’t something that I’m likely to revisit, I thought she held her own and did a good job with it overall. I can’t recall if I’ve ever seen the movie Honeymoon in Vegas all the way through before, but I do remember some of the songs that were featured on the soundtrack including “Suspicious Minds” by Dwight Yoakam and “Wear My Ring Around Your Neck” by Ricky Van Shelton. I actually went out of my way to buy an old cd of the Common Thread tribute album to the Eagles just so that I could hear a proper version of “New Kid in Town”. I had never purchased the album before and it isn’t available for steaming in its entirety, but there are so many great songs on it that I had forgotten about. Travis Tritt’s cover “Take It Easy” is obviously the more recognizable song from it, but I have also always enjoyed Alan’s “Tequila Sunrise”, Suzy’s “Take It to the Limit”, and John Anderson’s “Heartache Tonight”. And of course you also have "Desperado" by Clint Black and "I Can't Tell You Why" from Vince Gill...so yea just a stellar album and it's no wonder it won the CMA Album of the Year then. I also set the bar pretty high for Trisha’s cover of “Forever’s As Far As I’ll Go” because this is another favorite of mine from the group Alabama. I kind of had a hard time getting into it unfortunately and was left kind of disappointed. That said, I kinda figured it still might do well so not surprised to see it in the top 20. “Jackie’s House” was by far one of my favorite discoveries of the rankdown and is one that I kept finding myself wanting to revisit. Wish this had made the top 15!

#15 - End Of The WorldWriters: Shane McAnally, Josh Osborne, Trevor Rosen Origin: PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit Year of release: 2014 Total Points: 145 bboat11 - 7 .indulgecountry - 13 someguy - 13 taylor - 19 ccarter1023 - 22 tim - 31 castleoblivion26 - 40 We kick off the top 15 with "End Of The World", one of the six new songs Trisha recorded for PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit. I love the moody feel to this one, as well as the difference in tempo between the verses and choruses. It was co-written by Shane McAnally, one of the most in demand songwriters in Nashville today. Like many of the tracks from that album, I feel that it could have possibly done something if it were released as a single. I would have loved to have been able to make room for this in my top 10, but the top 20 or so of these songs were just so strong for me. bboat11 is the only one to lose a top 10 reveal, as his #7 leaves. Everyone had this in their top 40, with four of us losing top 20s here.

#14 - In Another's EyesWriters: Garth Brooks, John Peppard, Bobby Wood Origin: Songbook: A Collection Of Hits Year of release: 1997 Billboard Country Airplay peak: #2 Total Points: 144 castleoblivion26 - 1 ccarter1023 - 3 someguy - 9 bboat11 - 11 tim - 24 .indulgecountry - 45 taylor - 51 Trisha's iconic Songbook: A Collection Of Hits album sees its first loss as "In Another's Eyes" bows out at #14. This is our second Grammy winning song to leave. Like "I Fall To Pieces", it won the award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. This also gives us the loss of our final remaining Garth Brooks collaboration. Released at the end of the Summer of 1997, this song shot up the charts, ultimately peaking at #2 that Fall. It was also included on Garth's 1997 album Sevens. This song came right in the middle of the 1996-1998 period that was arguably the most commercially successful era of Trisha's career. It was her current single at the time that she won her first CMA Female Vocalist of the Year in 1997. This was destined for the top 10 here, with three top 10 ranks, including castleoblivion26's #1. Unfortunately, the last two lists received, including taylor's #51, really knocked it back. It ended up missing the top 10 by 18 points.

"Just A Cup Of Coffee", from 2007's Greatest Hits, leaves us at #13. The song was one of two previously unreleased tracks to appear on the album released by her former label, MCA. "Just A Cup Of Coffee" was originally recorded by its writer Stephanie Davis, and included on her 1993 self-titled debut album. The song was in our most of our top 20s, including two top 10 ranks from tim and .indulgecountry. taylor loses a second bottom five in a row, as "Just A Cup Of Coffee" was ranked at #50.

#12 - Getting GoodWriter: Emily Weisband Origin: Getting Good (Lauren Alaina EP) Year of release: 2020 Billboard Country Airplay peak: #29 Total Points: 135 .indulgecountry - 9 castleoblivion26 - 12 bboat11 - 12 tim - 16 someguy - 18 ccarter1023 - 31 taylor - 37 Leaving at #12 is "Getting Good", a collaboration with Lauren Alaina. The song was originally just a Lauren solo, but a new version with Trisha was released in June of last year. I liked Lauren's original version but, imo, the inclusion of Trisha really enhanced the song. It made it seem like the older, wiser Trisha was giving advice to Lauren, through the trading off of verses. I also think that their voices blended really well together. It appeared in five of our top 20s, including .indulgecountry's top 10 at #9.

The song stalled out at #42 on the Billboard chart, after an initial quick start at radio. It was one of the two new songs on the album that Trisha dedicated to her late mother, as she said the song reminded her of her mom's strength throughout her battle with breast cancer. It came up just shy of our top 10, missing it by 2 points. It was actually very firmly in the top 10, and close to the top 5, until our final two lists came in. Everyone else had the song in their top 20, including four top 10 ranks.

I'm not shocked to see "In Another's Eyes" miss the top 10, as I knew the Garth factor was bound to bring some negative attention its way. However, this is by far their best collaboration! If any of them deserved the top 10, it would have been this one. I'm not sad or surprised to see it miss, but the argument definitely could have been made that it deserved it. ![:dead:](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/smiley_resurrect_grave.gif) at the spread of those ranks!!! "Just A Cup Of Coffee" is a good song. It is a pleasant listen, not something I would ever skip, but definitely not something that ever needed to be a hit or anything. Its status as a new song on a Greatest Hits album gives it a lot more clout here than some of the super random songs though, so I'd say it definitely deserved to be this high even if it's pretty average. Trisha's contributions to "Getting Good" are definitely welcome! I'll take this perfect ranking! Wish that "End Of The World" and "Prizefighter" had made the top 10. The new songs from Prizefighter: Hit After Hit are all incredible (except for the one that we already lost awhile back). "End Of The World" has a delightfully dark and moody vibe to it. I like the way the verses feel like they're building up to something, and then the chorus is suddenly more explosive and energetic. The song has a very nice flow to it! "Prizefighter" is very generic, but I have always loved the way that it sounds. The melody is top notch, as is Kelly's contribution. It has always been kinda done dirty on Pulse, lol. Now, this top 10 is VERY strong, so I am excited to see how this turns out!! No real big surprises here, but I am especially glad to see "Broken" and "You're Where I Belong" still in the mix! The latter especially felt like something that might be lucky to make the top 20, although it definitely deserved top 10!

Knew trash taste would cause "In Another's Eyes" to do worse than it deserved but it should have at least been in the Top 10. I don't regret having this as my #1 because I love that song and have since it first came out!

Did you not see the reveal of my #9–a song that was in the top half? 😉 Trust me, not all of this Top 10 is in my bottom half and songs like “Getting Good” and “PrizeFighter” are really great imo, but this is Trisha and I can’t put everything at my Top 5 so sacrifices have to be made!

#10 - Your Husband's Cheating On UsWriters: Matraca Berg, Marshall Chapman, Jill McCorkle Origin: PrizeFighter: Hit After Hit Year of release: 2014 Total Points: 126 someguy - 3 .indulgecountry - 6 castleoblivion26 - 14 ccarter1023 - 18 bboat11 - 19 tim - 26 taylor - 40 We kick off the top 10 with one of my my absolute favourite Trisha Yearwood songs, "Your Husband's Cheating On Us". It's one of 6 new songs from the PrizeFighter collection. While it was not a single, I really wish it had been. Ms. Yearwood sings it perfectly, and it is a swampy story song worthy of the ages. She tells the story of teaming up with her husband's girlfriend to extract revenge. I'm not sure how it would have performed as a single, but I wish it had been given the chance. .indulgecountry's #6 rank pulled it back into our top 10.

It is Trisha's cover of the Bob Dylan song. Trisha and her husband Garth Brooks each recorded the song for the movie Hope Floats. They serve as bookends on the soundtrack. Both are great, but Trisha's warm and stripped down rendition finds itself at #9 here.

I actually prefer Garth's version of "To Make You Feel My Love" though I have to say I wonder why they recorded the song separately for the same soundtrack instead of recording it as a duet. I think this song could have lended itself to an interesting duet version
