As I had mentioned prior to the reveals today there were no albums exiting the rankdown for this set. Since we're now into the top 30 I thought this would be a good moment to highlight both of Alan's gospel albums. The first album, Precious Memories, was released in February, 2006. The project initially began with Alan recording a song for his Faither-In-Law's funeral which in turn led to the recording of this album. Debuting at the top of the country albums chart, it also debuted just inside the top 5 on Billboards 200 albums chart. The album would go on to be certified platinum and won a Dove Award for Country Album of the Year at the 38th GMA Dove Awards in 2007.
Alan followed up with a second gospel album, Precious Memories Volume II, which was released in March, 2013. The album debuted at No. 1 on Top Christian Albums as well as at No. 2 on Top Country Album before going on to to win the Top Christian Album at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards.

"Pop A Top" sucks. I am not sad to see that one out. Girl bye! “Pop A Top” is traditional country greatness and Alan’s version is the best.

"Pop A Top" sucks. I am not sad to see that one out. “Pop A Top” is traditional country greatness and Alan’s version is the best. I think I enjoy this song more now than I ever did back when it was originally released. Alan really makes this song his own (as he does with most of the songs from Under the Influence). I guess this is just too country for some on here.

I'm not sure if anyone is around but I'm going to go ahead and jump on into the top 30! Here's a few things you can expect with the next set of reveals: - 45 Points separate #30 and #26 with only one point between #29 and #28
- Both the 5th and 8th most polarizing songs of the rankdown will be revealed
- Someone will lose their top ranking song with the first reveal
- Cumulatively four top 5 rankings and 11 top ten rankings will be lost
- A fifth studio album will be exiting with the loss of its final song

Admittedly I used to quite dislike "Everything I Love" and maybe its because it wasn't something I could relate to at a younger age. Upon revisiting this song again, though, I found a new appreciation for it...which means it at least didn't land in my bottom 10 lol. I thought for sure this was going to end down near the bottom of my list, however, and if anything I've actually revisited this one a few more times since. Sorry for your loss Kanenrá:ke!

I'm quite surprised at how well "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" performed here, but even so I did expect it to be rather polarizing overall. Although this fell just within' my top 50 this song never fails to perk me up a bit and put me in a little better mood than I was in before. The downside is that this is one of his most overplayed hits which is why I think it ended up with a couple bottom 5's.
Now seems like a good time to do an album spotlight for the Live at Texas Stadium concert that Jimmy, Alan, and George put on back in 2004 in Dallas, Texas. I got the chance to attend this show and it'll forever me a memorable one!

I still love it, but I never realized Carrie's "Last Name" was such an obvious rip off of this song until doing the rankdown. 😬 Hey now! My last name is completely different from the last name of Jackson, thank you! (I thought you were talking about me at first ![:dead:](http://ruadventures.com/forum/Smileys/animated/smiley_resurrect_grave.gif) ) Regarding the placements here, I was hoping that "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" would do much better here. It's one of Alan's most iconic hits imo and deserved Top 10 placement. I actually have a memory from growing up where every day that it hit 5:00pm (literally every day, without fail, especially when we were bored enough which was quite often) my aunt and I would sing the song title the same way as Alan sings it at the end of the chorus. Looking back now, I treasure those little memories and it does color my judgment of the song a bit.

Looking back now, I treasure those little memories and it does color my judgment of the song a bit. Thanks for sharing that wonderful memory! As the Kenny Chesney song goes, "We all have a song that somehow stamped our lives, Takes us to another place and time". I think we all can relate to this as I'm sure most of us have more than one song or artist that takes us back to those moments. Alan is one of those artists that I associate mostly with my youth as I grew up watching his videos on CMT and hearing him on country radio. One of my fondest memories is my mom taking me to see him on his Don't Rock the Jukebox tour in the summer of '92. Her and I wanted to get a little closer so we snuck down to the ground level (you sure as heck couldn't do this now) and stood right near where the mixing console/soundboard was. That's just one of many fond memories I have with my mother and I'm grateful for every one of them (speaking of which...don't forget to watch Reba's live streaming concert tonight y'all!).

I myself didn’t really comment on the last set of reveals, so let me take a moment to do so! “I Don’t Even Know Your Name” has always been one of those fun songs to hear from Alan and one that I still hear on the radio from time to time. This started out in my top ten but as I continued to make revisions is ended up landing just outside of that. I had no idea up until the other day that Alan wrote this song by the request of some in his family as merely a joke, but everyone liked it so much that he ended up recording this and including it an album. I wasn’t quite sure how well this would do in the rankdown, though, as I knew there were going to be a handful of participants that don’t find the humor in this song to be all that funny lol. “Small Town Southern Man” is one of Alan’s more recent string of late hits in the rankdown and is yet again another that I hear quite frequently on the radio. The strength of Alan’s songwriting skills are on full display here as I think most listeners can find something relatable to the story the song paints even though Alan is singing about being raised by his own father. And I don't know why but I just can't help but not to sing along with this whenever I hear it! My ranking for “She’s Got the Rhythm” is definitely fueled in part by nostalgia as I just loved this song as a young boy. I remember seeing Alan perform this on one of the award shows back then and thought it had such a different and interesting sound. This also got quite a bit of press then because it was co-written with Randy Travis as Alan had been out on tour opening for him in 1991 and early 1992. Although I was hoping to see this make the top 25 I was surprised to see everyone but one participant put this in their top 40! As for “Everything I Love” I had already offered some thoughts about that song, but I look forward to Kanenrá:ke joining us again to hear his thoughts since it was his top ranking song!
