Thanks to those for taking some time to follow along for the last set of reveals! I might try and reveal the next five songs later this evening, but Reba's live streaming concert gets top priority

"Gone Crazy" is one of his best songs. I thought for sure it would find a way to sneak into the top 10, and possibly even be a dark horse contender for the top 5 depending on how polarizing his bigger hits ended up being... Never dreamed it would miss the top 20 altogether There's just something about Alan's vocal performance here that I have always really connected with. He sounds so good! I kind of figured it would fall short of the top 10, but yeesh, it definitely deserved top 20. I completely agree about the vocal performance, Alan just kills it on that song.

He still has a song from Thirty Miles West in? :o "So You Don't Have to Love Me Anymore" says hello! I really didn't think that it would get enough support to make the top 20 here, but the lyrics struck a nerve with me (in a good way) when I gave it a much fuller listen for this rankdown. Maybe country radio whiffed on this one last decade?

Yeah, I personally am not all that surprised to see "So You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" still in this. It got a WAY bigger Pulse reception back in the day than it ever got on country radio. And those lyrics still hit just as powerfully as they ever did

Maybe country radio whiffed on this one last decade? That’s an understatement for sure! But by that time radio had all but moved on from him plus it came at a time when we were being graced with bro-country.

Alright y'all it's T-minus 10 minutes until the Reba live stream party officially gets under way! If you want to join me afterwards I'll be revealing the next five songs to exit which will get us that much closer to the top 10. Here's a snapshot of what to expect this evening: - A total of 45 points separate #20 and #16
- One studio album will be departing along with one of Alan's two Greatest Hits compilations (which one could it be???)
- We'll see our first and only tie of the rankdown
- Cumulatively 11 top 5's will exit along with nine top 10's
- While no one loses their top ranking song, three participants lose their second top ranking one!

I'm not sure I can talk to any of you anymore. This is easily Alan's best song. How is it in your bottom half?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I don't know about y'all but I'm gonna be on a Reba high for the rest of the night as that was one epic concert...and for anyone that missed it you missed out! Alright, I promised y'all some more reveals and that's exactly what I'm going to do. The first song to leave the top 20 is coming right up.

Stats for #20:
The first song to leave the top 20 is another one of Alan's number one hits. While this may not have picked up any top 10 rankings it was better received than I thought it be with the majority of everyone putting this in their top 30. There's of course always one and in this case there is a lone bottom ten ranking.
Best rankdown position: 12 Worst rankdown position: 26 Average position: 26.11 SD Rank: 13th Lowest Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 0 11 to 20s: 7 21 to 30s: 7 31 to 40s: 1 41 to 50s: 3 51 to 60: 1 Bottom 5s: 0

Being only 19, I've never had the chance to experience her live (hopefully that changes come 2021 when she comes to Indiana) and this was easily the next best thing!!!! What a concert that was! Probably gonna be on a Reba marathon all night now at least it gave me the excuse to spin the next round of her albums that are due!

I'm pleasantly surprised at how well "I'll Try" performed here as I never would've taken it to be such a strong top 20 contender, and even then it was still putting up a fight for the top 15. For some reason I had always thought this wasn't a favorite amongst Pulse, but then again it has yet to show up in a year end rankdown of any kind so this is really its first showing. I've always liked this song and think its one of his underrated hits from the 90s.

We've come to our first and only tie of the rankdown! It really was a roll of the dice as to which one was going to come out one spot ahead, so in the end I just let the standard deviation between the two be the deciding factor.

Stats for #19:
With the next reveal we will see another one of Alan's studio albums leave as all of the songs have exited the rankdown. Everyone put this inside their top 40 which sees three participants losing a top 5 and another two losing a top 10.

"I'll Try" is his attempt at a realistic positive love song, lmao I never realized that But it is a great song! I'm impressed seeing it in the top 20! "Little Man" is one of his hits that always feels kinda forgotten to me, but it totally slays too! Such a unique song that he absolutely nails

Stats for #18:
As I mentioned above this song tied with the previous song as it really was a roll of the dice as to which one would win the tie breaker. I selected this song because it had a lower standard deviation and also because a participant put this as the second top ranking song. Two others depart with a top 10 while one more loses a top 5. And after only recently losing the other two songs in the rankdown this hits compilation becomes the next album to exit.
Best rankdown position: 15 Worst rankdown position: 46 Average position: 24.79 SD Rank: 33rd Highest Ranking distribution: Top 10s: 4 11 to 20s: 4 21 to 30s: 4 31 to 40s: 3 41 to 50s: 3 51 to 60: 1 Bottom 5s: 0

"Tall, Tall Trees" certainly exceeded any and all of my expectations as I had no idea it would be this well received. I'm not even sure this is a song that country radio plays from Alan or for how many of you this might've even been a discovery, but either way I'm thrilled to see this do so well because it's such a fun song.
Along with that, though, Alan's first hits compilation The Greatest Hits Collection departs as all three of its singles have exited the rankdown.

I'm going to take a short pause there because I'm behind on my dog walking duties thanks to Reba, but I'll be back shortly to reveal the next two songs which means we're Top 15 bound!
Any guesses on which two songs will be leaving?!? Stay tuned to find out!

At least around here, this song was a HUGE Alan staple for most of my childhood! From my personal listening experiences, it feels like the 4th most played song from his early career behind only "Chattahoochee", "Gone Country", and "Livin' On Love"! I definitely don't hear it anymore, but it had YEARS of recurrent play on my radio stations, well into the mid-to-late '00s.

Oh gosh, looking at the list I sent tim, this is the part where the losses are going to be substantially more painful for me regardless. Ugh. "Little Bitty" is still in however, and that can go next please. Anytime at all, but next will be preferable.

I imagine "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)" has gotta be just about out of steam, because I know there are people who hate it just because of its specificity to a specific time period... So that'll be my first prediction to leave before the top 15... And then maybe "Who's Cheatin' Who"? I've always thought about that song in the same vein as the likes of "Summertime Blues", "I Don't Even Know Your Name", etc. and it has now far outlasted both of those...

Lord, you can say that again! Girl, that was just a tease! There was so much edited out from the actual concert it's a shame the entire thing couldn't have been shown in its entirety. Songs like "You Lie", "She Thinks His Name Was John", "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia", "Little Rock"," and "For My Broken Heart". Also left out was the Vince Gill duet "The Heart Won't Lie" which I remember as one of the highlights from the concert because they had Vince behind her on a jumbotron singing his parts along with Reba...it just made for one epic performance and made it seem like Vince was right there with her! I could go on and on about that concert, but we're only down to two more songs to reveal for the night so let me just hush up and get on with it!
