Stats for #17:
The next song to exit flirted with the top ten a couple of times, but only very briefly and soon was duking it out for a top 15 showing. Alas it had to settle just outside of that which has two participants departing with a top 10 ranking as well as three others with a top five (one of which is a second top ranked song).

A top 20 showing for "Between the Devil and Me" actually didn't come much as a surprise to me because I remember it seeming to be quite well liked here on Pulse. There's a handful here who have a lot of passion for the song as quite a few put this in their top ten and top five...even a second place ranking from castleoblivion26! I included the video of Alan performing this at the CMA's in 1997 as I certainly remember sitting down on the couch watching him sing it that night.

Lord, you can say that again! Being only 19, I've never had the chance to experience her live (hopefully that changes come 2021 when she comes to Indiana) and this was easily the next best thing!!!! What a concert that was! Probably gonna be on a Reba marathon all night now at least it gave me the excuse to spin the next round of her albums that are due! Girl, that was just a tease! There was so much edited out from the actual concert it's a shame the entire thing couldn't have been shown in its entirety. Songs like "You Lie", "She Thinks His Name Was John", "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia", "Little Rock"," and "For My Broken Heart". Also left out was the Vince Gill duet "The Heart Won't Lie" which I remember as one of the highlights from the concert because they had Vince behind her on a jumbotron singing his parts along with Reba...it just made for one epic performance and made it seem like Vince was right there with her! I could go on and on about that concert, but we're only down to two more songs to reveal for the night so let me just hush up and get on with it! "For My Broken Heart" was shown :)

"Between The Devil And Me" has such a powerful, explosive chorus and I cannot help but to dig it!! Tbh, this feels like one of his more forgotten hits to me, so I am shocked yet thrilled to see it in the top 20. I don't believe I have heard this on the radio even once, and it is one of the few songs I didn't recognize by title when I started doing the rankdown, so I was shocked when I saw it on his #1s track listing that you shared earlier today. I'm glad this song wasn't done dirty on radio like I assumed it was! And that we did it justice here!

Stats for #16:
Our last reveal of the night just misses the top 15 by ONE POINT! This remained a steady top 10 contender for the majority of its early run only to dip a bit further back as the final lists came in. Three participants lose a top ten ranking while three others lose a top five (including yet another top two song!).

"For My Broken Heart" was shown :) Oh snap you're right! Don't know why I was thinking it wasn't, but I feel like so many of the songs were left out its a shame y'all couldn't have seen the entire concert. I sure hope they decide to release it in full someday on a full-length DVD, but that's probably unlikely.

I was really hoping that "Here in the Real World" would manage to stay in the top ten as it was even able to withstand the two lowest rankings from bboat11 and someguy. Alas, it's undoing was actually rankings received from those that put this just within' or outside of their top 30 and it had to settle for missing the top 15 by just one point. This has always been a personal favorite of mine and was even in my top ten for the first few edits.

OH SNAP!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!! We are truly on a roller coaster now, folks!!!! I never for a second thought there was even a slight chance of "Here In The Real World" missing the top 10!!! What an interesting turn of events!!!! Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy this song a lot. It's a solid song from Alan, that I enjoy listening to and would never skip it or turn the station if it came on. However, I feel like it is not nearly as interesting as like 85% of the rest of his career. The lyrics are good, but the melody is less engaging than his usual standard. It stands out merely because it is his breakthrough hit, but I always felt like he went on to do even better things (in large part thanks to the popularity this song brought him). But I felt like literally everybody else always drools over this song like it was the pinnacle of his artistic achievements, so I honestly thought it would be a top 5 contender and I would just have to suck it up and accept it!!

Count me in as one that drools over this song and I'm not even ashamed to admit it! It's part nostalgia for sure, but there's just something about the song lyrically that I adore and always find myself getting wrapped up in it. I'm disappointed it didn't make the top ten and was a bit sad to see that it wasn't able to recover at the end.

Wow I am so happy that "Tall, Tall Trees" made it this far! A ton of songs in this RD were discoveries for me just because I've never really dove into Alan Jackson's discography and only know songs from RDs I've done (which isn't a lot) but this one was an immediate earworm along with the likes of "Who's Cheatin' Who" and "Little Bitty". As someone who didn't know much about his discography I had no idea what people thought of the song, so I'll gladly take a top 20 finish!

I'm not sure I can talk to any of you anymore. This is easily Alan's best song. How is it in your bottom half?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! But Alan has so many great songs, its only natural that some have to leave when they do... Can we get rid of "Chattahoochie" and "Drive" plz, ugh. Slow down papi... one of those may not be my #1

3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 17, 22, 23, 28, 30, 35, 37, 46
Those are the spots I still have in. I like all 15 songs though I do hope the 5 I don't have in my top 25 make up most if not all of the 5 songs missing the top 10.
"Between the Devil and Me" and "Gone Crazy" deserved better.
I know "Chattachoochee" has been extremely overplayed but that song is incredible and belongs in the Top 5. I get that it doesn't have a strong chance of making it there but it should be. Same with "Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)"
Also "Don't Rock the Jukebox" and "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow" better be Top 10 bound, if either of those miss I'm rioting

OH SNAP!!!!!! HOLY s**t!!!!! We are truly on a roller coaster now, folks!!!! Hold on tight because we are about to begin our decent into the Top 15 and it's about to get real! Here's a few things you can expect for the next set of reveals: - 33 Points separate #15 and #11
- None of the next five songs exiting have any bottom 5 rankings!
- Cumulatively six top 5 rankings and 17 top ten rankings will exit
- Only one participant loses their top ranking song, while three others lose their #2 ranked song
- Not one, not two, but three of Alan's studio albums will depart

Stats for #15:
The first song to depart in the top 15 was putting up a fight early on inside the top 5 and making a run for #1, but alas once it got hit with a lone bottom 10 ranking it was just never quite able to recover. This comes in as the 13th most polarizing song of the rankdown which accumulated three top 10 rankings as well as two top 5's (including someone's #2!). Everyone but four participants put this in their top 40, so feel free to give them a black eye or slam the door on them.

As you can see "So You Don't Have to Love Me Anymore" was an early contender for #1 and remained steady inside the top 5 until the last half of the rankdown when it got hit with a lone bottom 10 ranking from austin. This even briefly dipped outside the top 20 thanks to a few more lower rankings from gardyfan, LBTrocks, and fearlessarrow. This is the final song in the rankdown from Thirty Miles West so it's time for another album showcase!

"So You Don't Have to Love Me Anymore" deserved Top 10, easily the best song he has done in the last 10 years (up there with "The Older I Get" at least). Not surprised it didn't make it but I love this one.

Stats for #14:
Leaving next is our 10th least polarizing song which everyone put in their top 40...except one of course. This remained a very steady top 10 contender for the majority of its run and only dipped outside of that with the last few lists. This is also the final song to exit from another studio album.

Interesting that gonecountry barely put "It Must Be Love" just outside of his top half, and that was enough to make it fall 5 positions right at the end! These next few reveals must be pretty close together

I'm not sure if I was an Alan Jackson fan first or a Don Williams fan, but either way I was quite familiar with the song "It Must Be Love" long before Alan recorded it for his covers album. He really took the song and made it his own and it has since gone on to be both a fan favorite and from the looks of it a Pulse favorite as well! Thanks to a friend of my mom I discovered Don Williams at a very early age and I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. Don came to perform at our local county fair in Nebraska in 1993 and I also got to see him twice here in Austin not just a couple of years before he passed. For anyone that hasn't heard Don's version before here you go!

"It Must Be Love" is a FANTASTIC song which is why it's In my top 20, but tbh I don't seek Alan's out because the original is perfect lol. Don Williams has always been one of my favorite artists and vocalists.
