Album Spotlight: Freight Train Released: March 30, 2010 Label: Arista Nashville Producer: Keith Stegall Country Albums Chart: #2 Certification: None Singles/Rankdown Placement: It’s Just That Way (#62) Hard Hat and a Hammer (#63) Tracklist: 1. Hard Hat and a Hammer 2. Every Now and Then 3. After 17 4. It’s Just That Way 5. Freight Train 6. Taillights Blue 7. I Could Get Used to This Lovin’ Thing 8. ’Til the End (featuring Lee Ann Womack) 9. That’s Where I Belong 10. Big Green Eyes 11. True Love Is a Golden Ring 12. The Best Keeps Getting Better
[/div][/quote] Freight Train wasn't as good an album as Good Time or Thirty Miles West, but it was still a damn good album in spite of the awful single choices. "It's Just That Way" isn't a bad song, it's just so damn boring that it never stood a chance at radio, especially coming on the heels of "Bologna" (which I loved as an album track, but never never made sense as a single). "Taillights Blue" is such a classic AJ song, I think it stood a chance at being a hit.

Yeah, this rankdown is already turning into a roller coaster. I have no idea what is or isn't well-liked for like a good 2/3 of his catalog, so these last two reveals just feel so random to me, lol.

A bit surprised to see "Work In Progress" out so early, it's a perfectly harmless hit radio single. It was also never going to garner many high rankings on a list this strong, so i guess it makes some sense.

Our next reveal momentarily dipped into the bottom 5 early on but was able to escape such fate. Four of you will lose a bottom 5, however, while someone becomes the first to say goodbye to a top 10 ranking (of whom was also the first to lose a top 15).

It was also never going to garner many high rankings on a list this strong, so i guess it makes some sense. Something about this song has just never clicked with me and it's always been a station changer (therefore an instant bottom 5 from me as well). I was disappointed they went with this over the George Strait duet "Designated Drinker" but I also thought "The Sounds" would've been a great single.

"www.memory" is a really good song, it just became super dated almost as soon as it was released. Love the production though.

Awe from predictions, I expected www.memory to be out this early but it still hurts! 😂 Work in Progress is the one song I've been feeling I underranked and am surprised it's out this early. 🤯

"Too Much of A Good Thing" is awful... it takes a lot for me to hate a song so traditional leaning but here we are, the chorus is horrible... "too much of a good thing is a good thing" is not only a dumb lyric but the arrangement is so unpleasant, and then the 'too much of a good thing is a good thing and we got a good thing goin' on' part is equally as insufferable. SO glad this is out early.

SO glad this is out early. I actually used to dislike this song quite a bit and the one word I would use to describe it then was "boring". That said, after listening to it some for the rankdown I found that I like it quite a bit more than I used to...so much so that I felt like I even ended up underranking it some.

"www.memory" is a really good song, it just became super dated almost as soon as it was released. Love the production though. Agreed. It really fit in with the times, though, and was quite clever. But again very dated at this point.

Okay, finally one that stings. "USA Today" is such a jam. Great play on words, great production, and a solid kiss off at the end. It wasn't going to go too far given it's lack of success as a single, but it should've at least made the top 50. Surprised "Long Way To Go" is still alive, seems like a song that Pulse wouldn't like.

Oh, speaking of bologna I completely forgot to ask this question...who here actually still eats this stuff? I don't know about y'all but this is for sure something I used to eat as a kid, but usually my older brother and I would turn it into a fried bologna sandwich. I think the last time I actually had one, though, was four or five years ago down at the beach lol.
