So the change in radio estimates is having no real effect on the chart?

I guess it's easier now to be in the top 10 for 40 weeks, than to spend multiple weeks at #1.

Somehow, I want "Chasin' You" to reach Top 15, because Morgan Wallen and Blake Shelton share peaks last year ("Whiskey Glasses" and "God's Country" both peaked #17) and this year ("Nobody But You" and "Chasin' You" so far peaked both at #18)

Making a meme for Pulse. I have stoop to the lowest of lows. A lot of pre-soundscan era #1's were fake, radio being payola'd and record labels paying Billboard to make songs hits. It's why Baker Street never went #1 in 1978 because Andy Gibb threatened to pull out of an event if Billboard didn't keep his track at #1.

Daisies dropping -50 to 90 is quite something. On the upper end of the chart Ariana getting four #1 debuts, Gaga notching another and one for this era, Watermelon Sugar going top 40, and Circles staying in the top ten feels correct and is something we love to see. Unfortunately if Gaga manages to get another song into the top ten with Chromatica that might be clips for Circles so I hope this proves to be true. And Break My Heart is gonna be rising this week to that naysayer earlier.

4 number 1 debuts for Ariana! Will she be the first to have the record? She absolutely will be, passing Drake, Bieber & Mariah @3 who she tied with Stuck With U — also this will be Gaga’s second which is still notable, tying Britney Spears and Travis Scott I did not realize only 38 songs in history have debuted at #1 With Rain On Me, Gaga will become the artist with the longest gap between songs that debuted at #1 on the chart—9 years since Born This Way.

Making a meme for Pulse. I have stoop to the lowest of lows. Which time is the left side referring to? When things were all hearsay and nothing could actually be tracked with accuracy? When labels would deliberately not release a single until the right moment to get #1s? When digital sales made it much easier to obtain a #1? When remixes were made of countless songs with the rent-a-rapper strategy? When single sales were dead and the Hot 100 was essentially just a radio chart in which label manipulation was rampant to get a song higher on any given week? Like... y'all. Hot 100 #1s were never this "happy sunshine everything's fair" thing you're talking about. Make Number Ones Real Again. They were never real to begin with. It's always been a game of chess between different musicians and labels. Always. You just notice it now because social media makes everything more visible.

Youtube US Rain On Me Day 5 : 1,123,984 (+31.8%) 5 days total : 10,818,079 I'm not so sure about the percentage increase you're showing. If it fell more 800k Monday-Tuesday from Sunday'Monday, I don't think it could have actually increased yesterday.

There's only been a few occurrences of a song really climbing to the top with no help, recently Someone You Loved hit #1 after weeks upon weeks of climbing. Most songs need a helping hand to reach the top, and that's just how it is. I didn't get involved in the 6ix9ine/Ariana drama weeks ago but Stuck With U won fair and square, 6ix9ine couldn't even debut at #2 (lol) even with all the bitchin' about bundles.
A bum-fuck nobody can't cut a track and hit #1 with no label support, bundles, remixes, radio, music videos, social media shoutouts, etc.
You might as well criticize everyone that gets a #1 single, an artists #1 hit isn't any less real because bundles were involved or radio played the track a lot.

Is Rockstar somehow declining or is it remaining stable and only falling a spot because of ROM?

shaz196 I’m no expert, but I’d be VERY shocked if “Rockstar” started struggling. It hasn’t even impacted pop radio yet but it’s already nearing the Top 40 (which is wild because DaBaby has never reached the top 40 as a lead). It’s #1 on Spotify AND Apple Music, too. I’m fairly certain it will hit number 1 in the near future. TL;DR it’s falling a spot because of “Rain On Me”

Wait, both Morgan Wallen and Ma Boi Luke are getting over 10 Million streams per week on their big hits? It looks like Country could still survive in the Top 40 if radio were removed from Billboard's formula.

Can someone explain why songs with radio deals are no longer debuting at ~#60-80 based on their first three days? I get that Rain On Me has no radio deal, but how did TUN, 7R and SWU not debut near the bottom of the chart? TUN for one was released late Saturday night, so it didn't have Friday or Saturday to go into its airplay figures. Radio would help songs debut "early" usually for big comeback/lead singles with built up anticipation. "ME!," "Roar," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Womanizer" are some examples. It isn't really that common for songs to do this: 3 out of 4 of these songs had explosive sales the week of their release, Roar and WANEGBT around 0.5 million downloads and Womanizer 0.3 million. WANEGBT and Womanizer broke single-week download records for women. Neither "7 rings" nor "SWU" fall into this category of huge anticipation. Ariana already had "TUN" and "breathin" high up the radio charts when "7 rings" was released. And "SWU" opened with great airplay numbers, but Justin already had a top ten hit, and the song didn't have much pre-release hype.
