This was definitely a pleasant surprise in the top 10. I'm glad it was able to make it in. I didn't think it'd really get the love to even make the finals. This is another Spotify playlist discovery. NIGHT TRAVELER is a really solid indie pop band. They make just catchy stuff. This was their debut single, and it's definitely my favorite from them ("Burn" is another solid one). They're independent, but they're someone I could see getting bigger one day.

I feel like Unknown Mortal Orchestra is always a guarantee for a high standard deviation in rankdowns, lol. I'm pretty sure this is yet another Spotify playlist discovery. I love the groove of this one. That bassline is killer.

Hunnybee is phenomenal, I’ve ranked UMO low in the past but I think it’s at least partially due to the fact that I compare all their other songs to this in my head lmao

...another Spotify playlist discovery. The playlist I used to listen to ( Licensed to Chill) was absolutely loaded with solid indie tracks. It's too bad they don't really update it as much anymore. The Paper Kites are a band I should definitely check out more of because the few songs I've heard from them before have been really solid.

yea I was not feeling John UMO's falsetto on Hunnybee, would've had it higher otherwise

I think this is the one I was rooting for the most in this rankdown. With "Gunfighter Ballad for the 21st Century" missing out on the top 10 in my rock rankdown, I was hoping he could get this into the top 10 and he did it! Joshua Powell is an insanely talented musician and songwriter. This is a really good song, and I'm glad other people liked this a lot like I do. I definitely recommend checking out some of his other work.

Another Spotify song for good measure – this is probably one of the biggest ones too. This was my introduction to Local Natives, and I absolutely fell in love with this song / album. Sunlit Youth is probably Local Natives' worst album, but it contains this and "Dark Days", which are two of my favorites from them. Without discovering this, I probably wouldn't have been as big on "When Am I Gonna Lose You" as I am today as it inches up my all-time favorites list.

And with that, I'm gonna stop there for the night! Not many people are on tonight it seems, so I'm just gonna finish out the top 5 tomorrow hopefully.

Honestly that Paper Kites song isn't one of my favourites of theirs, I think I generally prefer their earlier work more

This is another one that I discovered through Spotify. I absolutely love the production on this one, and I feel like this is such an engaging song. Easily my favorite song from Mansionair. I wish this became a hit on Alternative after "Astronaut (Something About Your Love)" became a moderate hit, but sadly, all it did was hit the top 50 and not much more.

I think I discovered this one because I was a big fan of "Big Ideas" by them, and I believe Web told me to check this one out. I ended up falling in love with this one. Just a super solid song. I don't think these guys have really done much at radio, but they're a pretty solid band from the few songs I've heard from them. They sound like a good band for Triple A.

Alt Nation spun "Diamonds" a bunch back in the day, always loved the toned down post-punk nature of the track

Lo Moon is an insanely underrated band. Their debut was stellar and loaded with great songs. Something about their sound is just so crisp. I was surprised to see that the band actually took this off the album and weren't planning to put it on the album, but changed their mind because they could use a more upbeat track on the album. This was one of my favorite first listens on the album, and it gets so addicting. I'm hoping we see them come back in 2020 because I've been itching to hear what they come with next.
