Four perfect rankings and three of them were in a row? I'm shocked.

I was between a few different Cold War Kids songs for this, and I guess I chose wrong lmao. Hold My Home was the first album I heard from Cold War Kids, and this was the most instant song on the record for me besides "All This Could Be Yours" (which was the current single). Something about the melody of this one just really sticks with you. I think Nathan's falsetto can be rather polarizing to some, so I guess I can see why this didn't do as well. #25 Cold War Kids Go Quietly Points: 425 Standard deviation: 7.275590047 maine - 4 wheatsquares33 - 11 Daryl the Beryl - 13 singingrulebritannia - 13 born - 14 Az Paynter - 14 American Idiot - 21 eidde - 21 Taiga - 22 Juan Carlos - 22 Beno - 24 @trilogy - 25wrip - 26 Butterflies & Hurricanes - 26 Leaf - 27 Geometrical - 27 Red - 28 peacebone - 28 @humanshazam - 29 Lordef†ones - 30 Movements: 6 9 16 22 22 23 25 25 24 25 26 26 26 27 25 25 25 25 25 I could become some other man You easily crush in the palm of your hand Or one who puts you in the ring Who runs away, runs away, runs when you swing{Songs remaining}1984 An End Has a Start Arrowheads or Worse Diamonds Electric Indigo Firelight Fountain of Youth Girls Like You Go! I discovered Mosa Wild from the song "Smoke", which was in a Spotify playlist that a couple of these songs are from actually. The original list for "Indie" III had even more songs from that playlist before it was altered to this. They dropped "Smoke", then they just kinda disappeared and never released anything after that. Then I was on Apple Music and saw this song on their new release tab and listened and really liked it. It's pretty run of the mill indie rock, but it's got a nice drive to it.

Night Riots had a solid debut era and EPs. I wish their stuff got more recognition on Alt radio at the time. They had a lot of solid songs from their debut, including this. I think this one has burned a little bit on me though over the years. Still a really solid song, but I'm not as into it as I was when it was out. This is my #5 most played song in all of "Indie" III, and here it just misses my bottom 5, lol.

I would've had "Contagious" a lot higher had we been ranking that Night Riots song

Nick Murphy / Chet Faker is super underrated. I've like a good amount of songs from him. I actually had "1998" in the original "Indie" III list, with this one coming in "Indie" V, but I had to cut one of them when I combined all three. This one is a dark banger, and I love it.

This song is absolutely chilling. They performed this when I saw them live, and I got chills from it. This is such an enchanting and haunting track. Sameer's vocals sound so good, and the buildup on this is great. When I saw them live, I was like right in the middle, and I felt Sameer looking at me multiple times throughout the concert, including during this song lmao. He sang this to me.

I generally prefer music from the Chet Faker era more than Nick Murphy, but "Your Time" was still done dirty
As for that Judah song, I think it would've benefitted from being a bit shorter. It had me interested at first, but the banjo got pretty irritating after a while tbh

{WALL WORD...WAIT, THAT'S NOT RIGHT}#30: This is the second best Judah song I've heard. Very low bar to clear, but it's basically this and "Why Did You Run?" as their best that I've heard. Honestly, this makes me want to check out the EP this is on. #29: I was not expecting to get a perfect bottom two. I thought this would be closer to escaping the bottom ten. This is fine, but you'll see fairly quickly that this personal rankdown, like many others, was a tough one. #28: This was pretty decent, but I barely remember it now, which is probably telling. #27: If "Running for Cover" was decent, but unmemorable, this is the king of "decent, but unmemorable" songs. #26: I expected to rank this lower coming in, until I realized that I've actually had previous experience with the song, and not negative previous experience, either. This is probably my favorite The Head and the Heart song. #25: Sorry that I didn't have your back this time, James. I have a big, huge soft spot for Cold War Kids, but this didn't really do much for me. #24: "It's pretty run of the mill indie rock" Geez, now you're doing my work for me, what CAN'T you do, James? #23: I liked this a lot, but I still expected better from this. #22: Probably the song I was most conflicted with here. Parts of this song are really, really interesting. I want to revisit this. #21: Wow, I was not expecting this to be in the bottom ten. I would have likely hated this in my pre-"Young the Giant are a good band" phase, but it's a pretty good song post-"Young the Giant are a good band".

This one was sent to me by @humanshazam because he was like "this sounds like a James song so check it out", and it turns out, he was right! I ended up loving this on first listen and kept replaying it for like the first two weeks I discovered it. Definitely a different energy than "Where Will We Go", but a solid song nonetheless.

This was good. I also like it more than "Where Will We Go", fairly easily. I just had to put ten songs bottom ten.

This was alright, though it pretty much sounded like various songs I would hear on my workplace's in-house radio and nowhere else

I absolutely love the glitchiness of this track. Something about that last minute or so gets me so hyped. I was a huge fan of Big Data's debut album. I wish it translated to more success but only "Dangerous" was able to be a hit unfortunately. That album was seriously loaded with great features and radio-friendly tracks. I wasn't as big of a fan of 3.0 sadly. It just didn't have the same magic.

This song's beat is immersive, especially towards the end. Kimbra's just an added bonus.

I was actually thinking this would be a shoo-in for the top 10, but here we are with the highest standard deviation and missing the finals! Lynn's vocals are so strong on this one. I actually thought about using "Hallucinations" too since Alt just completely robbed that one of being a smash, but this was my introduction to PVRIS and was in the original "Indie" III list, so I kept it here.
