Leg 12: Xi'an & BangkokChallenge #1: Detour (Xi'an)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: A Trip to the Mosque or A Trip to the MarketA Trip to the Mosque: Located in the center of Xi’an is the famous Great Mosque of Xi’an. It is a famous religious spot full of beautiful gardens. For this detour, you must send a religious song.ORA Trip to the Market: Right next to The Great Mosque is a bustling market full of people bargaining non stop to get a lower deal. For this detour, you must send a song about trying to achieve better than one’s current situation (i.e. a motivational song), similarly to how people in the market try to achieve better deals than they currently had.Challenge #2: Roadblock (Bangkok)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
Challenge #3: Special Roadblock (Bangkok)What is a special roadblock? It's like a roadblock but the goal is to send the worst song possible. The scoring is reversed (a 1/10 becomes a 9/10). The team member that doesn't do the regular roadblock has to take the special roadblock
oh and one more thing...
This leg is a one round partner swap! For this leg and this leg only, players will be racing alongside new, randomized partners. The winning team will get a +5 bonus for each of their actual teams in the next leg, while the losing team will make it so that each of their teams has to face a speed bump
Here are the teams you'll be playing with for this leg:
walt91 & wrip willapted33 & tanooki Daryl the Beryl & @matthewlam Mylo13 💜 & matteeeb Sambalada & Lukas
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Feel free to ask myself and Samo any and all questions you may have. The world is waiting for you. Travel safe. Go!

This sounds like an interesting round. With two twists (worst song plus partner swap).

here are our exit interview with the last two eliminated teams: Web & lyhom and shruggie & DistrictTwelve
how do you feel about your time in the race?
Web: PAR was wild and I had a blast, happy I made it as far as I did! I joined this season without really following PAR season 1 so entered with no real expectations but enjoyed all of the reveals and drama. Also definitely helped distract a bit from all of the insane s**t going on in the world rn. Both of you have done a fantastic job hosting! (can't even say that's just complimenting you for good scores since i'm already out)
lyhom: pretty happy, obviously kind of sad (I took three tries to type "sad" correctly) that it's over as a contestant now but I didn't think I'd make it to 7th place either before the game started or when zedd and I had two close calls early on (that were totally because of me oops) but it was definitely really fun and I'm impressed with how smoothly the game seems to be running
shruggie: Well let's see. Did I: Defeat gabe? ✅ Defeat The Trouble Squad? ✅ End my "six-round curse"? ✅ Make the top 10 of the entire thing? ✅ Finished higher than where I started? ✅ Survive at least 10 legs? ✅ Perfect!
DistrictTwelve: it was a wild one! we had some high highs and low lows, but overall I enjoyed all parts of the race. with all the amazing pairings made at the start of the season, I didn’t have my hopes set too high, and I think that allowed me to play with more freedom and think less crucially at the start. as the dream grew and we made it further, I definitely started believing that we could do it! we haven’t been consistent so I felt that we were the little engine that could throughout the season. shrug, you were a great partner, I didn’t know you that well before but I’m glad to have gotten to know you more musically and personally though the game. good luck to everyone!
do you think you could've/should've done anything different?
Web: I think we did a pretty solid job making it so far having to quickly construct team chemistry after the surprise switch (psa: Team Pickles Merch Drop this winter) but with how some judges can fly in and destroy carefully crafted strategies every leg was a risk. I wouldn't change sending "Play That Song" but I deeply and unconditionally apologize to any judges that were forced to hear it this race.
lyhom: I fully expected to answer this question with "have me send better roadblocks" but since it's so late in the game and web also sent a good roadblock this time I think we just took a risk that didn't pay off, which happens
shruggie: Damn. 0.1 points? If only we were giving like 0.1 from any judge... A tie would've been more interesting lol
DistrictTwelve: this is a tragic question bc every team you ask this is going to think, wow I guess we/I coulda sent something else hey? while it does sting to lose on my roadblock for two seasons in a row, I have little regret this time around. this time I chose a song that I believed would do well, and it feels good that I stepped outside of the box for it. I’m one to play safe, so it’s new for me to throw something different out there and ask myself, “why not?” while it didn’t pay off this round, on a meaningful level I taught myself to take risks and I’ll be carrying that with me
any predictions?
Web: For the winner, I'm contractually obligated to cheer for my Golden Duck alumni will to the end but Dylo has consistently surprised me this race with complete opposite taste between teammates so it's been fun to watch them too.
lyhom: definitely cheering for our former partners the canadian ducks in the end but at this point every team is so strong I'd be happy for anyone left to win lol
shruggie: I predict for the top 5: 1. The Mild Dislikers of Justin Bieber 2. The Lights 3. Dylo 4. The Canadian Ducks 5. Sambal Wrap
DistrictTwelve: canadian ducks/sambal wrap/lights top 3, in no particular order.

For this roadblock, you must send a song that was similarly customized/improved, namely one that had a very popular remix (note 1: the remix should be more popular than the original. note 2: the remix should be the version sent).Songs:Bjork - Big Time Sensuality (The Fluke Remix) Cornershop - Brimful of Asha (Fatboy Slim Remix) Crystal Castles/Robert Smith - Not in Love Everything But The Girl - Missing (Todd Terry Remix) SZA/Calvin Harris - The Weekend (Funk Wav Remix)and joining us to judge this challenge are...the contestants who didn’t send for it! that’s Sambalada, @matthewlam, Mylo13 💜, tanooki & walt91 Challenge #3: Special Roadblock (Bangkok)Special Roadblock Theme: Rip OffIn Bangkok, nearly anyone who is selling you something is trying to rip you off, or at least get a much better deal for themselves. For this special roadblock, you must send a song that can also be seen as a “rip off”, namely one that is a collaboration between two famous artists, but the collaboration arguably only happened for the sake of publicity, not artistic merit. (remember the goal of a special roadblock is to send the worst song possible, and scoring for it will be reversed [1/10->9/10]).Songs:6ix9ine/Nicki Minaj - FEFE Brad Paisley/LL Cool J - Accidental Racist Logic/Eminem - Homicide Madonna/Nicki Minaj - I Don't Give A Maroon 5/Kendrick Lamar - Don't Wanna Knowand joining us to judge this challenge are...the people who sent for the regular roadblock! that’s Daryl the Beryl, matteeeb, Lukas, willapted33 and wrip Judges, please get your scores in within the next three days!

pulling ahead with two challenge wins we have...1. walt91 & wrip Overall Score: 169.8 | Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Special Roadblock Rank: #1Detour Results:(A Trip to the Market)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I just don’t really like Florence + the Machine - none of their music has ever really connected with me. I’ve tried to get into them, but often their melodies don’t interest me and I just don’t enjoy Florence Welch’s voice lol. this song really isn’t too remarkable, it just kinda sounds like other songs I’ve heard from them (6.7)Samo: It’s hard for me to talk about this one because whatever I say won’t properly describe how much I love it, but the final chorus is transcendent, it’s one of my favourite songs of all time and (aside from The Edge Of Glory) it’s my favourite song sent for any leg so far. (10)drakeisskinny: duh i love Florence, im a Florence stan whoever sent this deserves to win the entire leg for having taste, follow me on Twitter @bayleighas2 for more taste (10)Fire: Absolutely amazing. I love the vocals and the uplifting sound. Incredible. (10)shruggie: Sure, the hook is catchy enough, but outside of it, what good does this do? And it appears I might not like this as much as everyone else lol. (5)D12: (9.4)Overall Score: 51.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by wripwrap)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love how funky this beat is. SZA works with it so well, and the lyrics are also really strong. overall this is just a super enjoyable track! (9.5)Samo: Like the “Big Time Sensuality” remix, this feels like it could be an entirely original song with how well SZA’s performance fits more funk-focused production. That being said, I don’t like it quite as much as the original version. (9.1)walt: I was surprised to see this here at first, but it’s more popular than the original on Spotify apparently. Anyway, it’s a bop - I like the lyrics about being someone’s side girl on the original but the song is elevated here by some really fun and funky production courtesy of Calvin Harris - he really was on fire during the Funk Wav era. (9.2)Tanooki: Don't lecture me, Obi-Wan. I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the dark side as you do. I have brought peace... freedom, justice and security to my new empire. Your new empire? Don't make me kill you. Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic, to democracy! If you're not with me... then you're my enemy. Only a Sith deals in absolutes. I will do what I must. You will try. I hear a new apprentice you have, Emperor. Or should I call you Darth Sidious? Master Yoda. You survived. Surprised? Your arrogance blinds you, Master Yoda. Now you will experience... the full power of the dark side. I have waited a long time for this moment... my little green friend. At last the Jedi are no more. Not if anything to say about it I have. At an end your rule is. And not short enough it was. If so powerful you are... why leave? You will not stop me. Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us. Faith in your new apprentice misplaced may be. As is your faith in the dark side of the Force. Hurry. Careful timing we will need. Activate your homing beacon when you're ready. There's no sign of his body, sir. - Then he is not dead. - Double your search. Yes, sir. Right away, sir. Tell Captain Kagi to prepare my shuttle for immediate take-off. - Yes, Master. - I sense Lord Vader is in danger. Into exile I must go. Failed I have. I have failed you, Anakin. I have failed you. I should have known the Jedi were plotting to take over. Anakin, Chancellor Palpatine is evil! From my point of view, the Jedi are evil. Then you are lost! This is the end for you, my master. It's over, Anakin. I have the high ground. You underestimate my power. Don't try it. You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness! I hate you! You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you. Master Kenobi. We have Miss Padme on board. Yes. Please, please hurry. We should leave this dreadful place. (8.6)Matt: i wasn't super intrigued going into this one as I liked the original The Weekend from CTRL and liked the laid-back, alternative R&B vibe to it quite a bit. I didn't know how Calvin Harris's style would suit this type of song, and i can't say i was super impressed by this remix. Yeah, it added a nice bassline, and the chorus does get a bit more of a punch, and it certainly doesn't sound bad, but it seems kind of a lazy choice for this round so I docked it a few points. (5.7)Mylo: I prefer the original to this by a bit but overall still a good song here. SZA's vocals carry! (7.5)Samb: I charted this simultenaously with the original lol. Both versions are great, basically two different genres but each style is done perfectly. The bouncy production is very fun and, well, bounce-y. (8.2)Overall Score: 57.8Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think the only people I’ve heard that really like this song are levitation and waffle. maybe they can be as dynamic of a duo as logic and Eminem (0.9)Samo: This song is for people who think rapping fast and rapping well are the same thing, and no one else, because there’s nothing else good to be found here. A “spiritual lyrical miracle” indeed. (1.3)wripwrap: I think both of these rappers have a total of like two songs that are fine. This one is not one of them. The chicka-Slim Shady part hurt my brain. Why did Eminem add a line about wiping his ass? What is up with that last 30 seconds? This song honestly pisses me off. (1)will: (0.5)Daryl: The last 45 seconds remove any redeeming qualities Eminem's rap verse has. Logic's writing for his verses is also bad. (1.5)Zedd: This was painful to get through. I don’t even want to talk about this song it was that bad. (1.4)Lukas: (2.5)Overall Score: 9.1 -> 60.9the top 2 are less than 2 points apart, but two fantastic roadblock choices got both of you another win! both of your teams will get a +5 bonus next leg

comfortably landing a top 2 finish we have...2. Daryl the Beryl & @matthewlamOverall Score: 168.3 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Special Roadblock Rank: #2Detour Results:(A Trip to the Mosque)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is a fantastic track. Kanye delivers some super strong lyrics, and the production is all sorts of tense and effective. it’s probably Kanye’s best song! (9.7)Samo: This is definitely a song I appreciate more than I like, but it’s a good song nonetheless. The lyrics are incredible, and the production is really interesting, it’s just not something I’d choose to listen to. (8)drakeisskinny: i really like this song it has nice hmms it was upbeat, good lyrics, i liked his flow n fit the theme (8)Fire: This is a really damn good track. Lyrics are done nicely, and Kanye does a great job. Great pick! (9)shruggie: Yup. This song simply just speaks for itself. (10)D12: (7.3)Overall Score: 52Roadblock Results:(Sent by Daryl)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is just a super catchy track haha. I love the energy on the production and I found the vocals quite enjoyable as well. I’m not totally sure I’ve heard it before but it’s certainly something I’ll be coming back to! (8.8)Samo: Wow, it’s been a while since I heard this one. I really like the melodies, especially the guitar that’s more prevalent in the intro and the vocals in the chorus. The repetition doesn’t bother me much when what’s being repeated is this good. (8.3)walt: The production here is really cool, there’s a lot going on yet it doesn’t feel cluttered or messy. I’m not entirely enamored with the vocal performance and it feels a bit repetitive, but when the groove is this solid I can’t complain too much. (7.9)Tanooki: balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci balenci (8.6)Matt: Instantly drew me in with its really solid instrumental courtesy of Fatboy Slim, and coupled with the unique vocals that i was really digging got me to really get into this one. Those guitar lines are really smooth too and help carry the vibe of the track, as well as the drums in the background, making me envision this as kind of a summer beach party type song. Really solid! (8.3)Mylo: This started good but I got bored of it quickly. I think the song needed something else to really keep the listener's attention. The word fortified lingers in my memory... (6)Samb: I quite like the instrumentation in here. Very fun and would be a great song on the dance floor. The guitar throughout the song is slick and cool. (7.9)Overall Score: 55.8Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Matt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: probably in my bottom 10, if not bottom 5, of all time. f**k this song lmao (0)Samo: I’d managed to avoid hearing this before now, and now I’m glad I did that, because yikes. When I’m not physically cringing, this is pretty unintentionally funny, but it’s such a long song that it ends up boring anyway. (0.6)wripwrap: I genuinely can’t tell if this is supposed to be serious or not. It’s like they’re trying to be inspirational but legitimately failed. That offbeat rap section threw me off. I’m literally never listening to this again. (1)will: (0)Daryl: Paisley is so much better than this. LL Cool J's rapping is out of place. At least the instrumental is fine? Needs more "No I in Beer". (2.5)Zedd: I can’t tell if this song is a joke or serious . I cringed at some of the lyrics (which seem more problematic rather than trying to bring light to the topic) but musically, I didn’t hate it? I think the guitar sounds nice honestly. This would just be an average country song without the awkward lyrics. (4.4)Lukas: (1)Overall Score: 9.5 -> 60.5you two nearly won, but the final set of scores stopped that. neither of your teams will have a bonus next leg

landing at 3rd for the first time (for either contestant) we have...3. willapted33 & tanooki Overall Score: 157.2 | Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Special Roadblock Rank: #4Detour Results:(A Trip to the Mosque)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love this song. the vocals are so simplistic but so effective. I like how the instrumental becomes subtly more complex as the song goes on. there’s also some really great lines in here. a truly fantastic choice for this theme (10)Samo: This stands out among the religious songs with its different message, but it’s also my least favourite of the three. It’s pleasant enough, but I don’t love the vocals. (7.3)drakeisskinny: i enjiyed this song, didn't fit the theme like at all but it's cute i hope this team loses for not going with the theme (7)Fire: I like it. Imagery is also conveyed well. Really beautiful. Thumbs up. (7.3)shruggie: Now THAT's a Christian song I'm hearing. When'd this come out? 2002? HOW HAVE I NOT BEEN ABLE TO HEAR THIS IN A LIFETIME? Like, easily it embodies everything perfect about Christian music., starting with the violins into the background, before just turning into a soft, but captivating song. I thank you to whoever sent this for letting me discover it. (10)D12: (7.9)Overall Score: 49.5Roadblock Results:(Sent by will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I like how passionate the vocals on this song are - it makes the track quite a bit more gripping. the beat is pretty cool I suppose, but at the end of the day this doesn’t feel like something I’ll return to all that much (7.7)Samo: I’ve had a hard time really getting into Björk’s music, but this is pretty good! Her vocals fit really well with this kind of production, so well that it doesn’t even feel like this is a remix of another song. (8.1)walt: This is really cool. I like how Bjork’s signature elastic-esque vocals interplay with the 90’s trance production and it creates for a very ethereal yet still danceable listen. (8.6)Tanooki: swedish goose: hjonk (9.3)Matt: I've always really enjoyed Bjork's unique voice, and it's certainly put to good use here. In addition, the production here is pretty groovy and i like all of the different instruments put to use here. That being said, i don't think these mesh together incredibly well; parts of Bjork's vocal lines don't mesh super well with the beat and there are long stretches of the track where the beat stands alone for a bit too long; it seems like the original didn't lend itself to a remix all that much. Still not half bad though. (6.8)Mylo: This was fun! I liked this a decent amount, love the vocals and the production is sweet. (8.5)Samb: The original is one of the textbook definition of pop perfection so releasing this remix as the single in the first place is a mind-boggling decision imo. However, this is a stellar remix if not for the fact that it's a downgrade from the original. The dreamy atmosphere takes you to a high feeling. (8)Overall Score: 57Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Tanooki)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: for some reason I really struggle to hate Maroon 5 songs and I consider that one of my worst, if not my absolute worst personality trait (5.5)Samo: This is the first song I thought of for this theme. Kendrick has a few songs that could fit here, but this is far worse than Bad Blood or The Greatest, and that’s mainly down to the lifeless production and awful vocal melodies that make Adam Levine sound worse than he ever has before. (0.3)wripwrap: Literally f**k this song. So annoying and repetitive. Kendrick barely saves this song. (1.5)will: (2)Daryl: The Adam Levine project proves that a Kendrick Lamar-related track can be bad. (2)Zedd: Is it good? No. Is it bad? No. Is it mediocre? Yes. Kendrick’s short verse kind of salvages things here? Meh. (5.5)Lukas: (2.5)Overall Score: 19.3 -> 50.7a strong roadblock performances saved you from the bottom 2, but not by much. neither of your teams will have a bonus next leg

falling to the bottom 2 despite a challenge win we have...4. Sambalada & LukasOverall Score: 156.4 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #5 | Special Roadblock Rank: #5Detour Results:(A Trip to the Market)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: it’s a cute little harmless song. I like the guitar loop and Natasha’s vocals are solid. the chorus is pretty catchy also. it’s not the best thing ever, but it’s a very enjoyable little pop track! (8.8)Samo: Natasha’s hits are pretty hit-or-miss for me, but this is her absolute best. The production and lyrics aren’t anything really complex, but when they’re done this well that’s not an issue at all. I’ve been hearing it for almost 15 years at this point, and it hasn’t aged a day. (9.8)drakeisskinny: timeless classic, better than pocket ful of sunshine, seems like it would be in the opening of a charmed episode, I've been rewatching charmed lately, cole n phoebe should of been endgame (9)Fire: I've always absolutely loved this. I love the vocals and the nostalgic vibe I get from the song, especially the pre-chorus. It's such a good feel-good track. (10)shruggie: I don't like Natasha Bedingfield. Anyone who has seen my posts on the Discord server or my RYM account can figure that out. However, Unwritten is easily one of the best hits of 2006. That year was a terrible year for Billboard, because we had entered the ringtone rap and boring and bland pop phase, and an upbeat and catchy song like this one is exactly what we needed. (8.5)D12: (9.6)Overall Score: 55.7Roadblock Results:(Sent by Lukas)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: ooh this beat is cool! I think the song is a little too repetitive for my liking, though I still find it to be somewhat enjoyable (8)Samo: I do like this, but nothing about it is particularly interesting (to me, at least). The vocals are good, and I like the chorus melody, but not enough to balance out the fact that it’s pretty repetitive. (7.1)walt: Now this is a great pick. The lyrics to this are crushing in their simplicity about missing an ex, especially with the repetition of the titular line and the devastating manner in which Tracey Thorn sings them, and the eeriness of the house production and the way the vocals blend with the production in the remix creates a really ethereal and heartbreaking atmosphere. Just a beautiful song and easily one of my favorite dance songs of all time. (You can rank this in my nighttime favorites rankdown too!) (9.7)Tanooki: i sleep (7.1)Matt: like all of these the groove is nice, but less so than the other remixes here i don't really find that the vocals mesh super well with the production. The latter has a more upbeat, funky vibe while the melancholy lyrics and the sparser, more spread out melody lines don't really lend this to a dance remix all too well. Can't say i cared for this one too much (5.2)Mylo: I expected more out of this song than I got, it's fine enough but I thought this was a classic or something haha. I like the desert line but otherwise the song is just alright. (7)Samb: I love this song. I'm a sucker for 90s nu-disco music and this song captured almost everything good about that music style. I said almost because melodically, I think this needs a stronger punch. (8.1)Overall Score: 52.2Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Samb)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is just obnoxious. why would someone want to listen to this (1.7)Samo: Madonna has quite a few choices for this theme, but this is probably my least favourite, though I wouldn’t call it outright awful, just pointless. I don’t like this song, but there are other songs which have done most of this song’s flaws worse. (4.1)wripwrap: This is more just annoying to me. Somehow this can be considered one of the better songs on this list, but that doesn’t really mean much. Nicki’s part is probably the best part of this. (3)will: (1.5)Daryl: It is something I don't entirely hate, but I won't return to either. (4.5)Zedd: This isn’t even the worst Madonna/Nicki Minaj collaboration. I think Nicki sounds really solid on this and had it not been for that s**tty outro, I may have actually kind of liked the song. (5.2)Lukas: (1.5)Overall Score: 21.5 -> 48.5you were leading after the detour, but two poor roadblock choices nearly put you in last place. neither of your teams will have a bonus next legwhich means the team in last place must be...5. Mylo13 💜 & matteeebOverall Score: 151 | Detour Rank: #5 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Special Roadblock Rank: #3Detour Results:(A Trip to the Mosque)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this song has some cool vibes to it. I do wish there was a bit more going on, but it’s well written and the flows are very solid. (8.1)Samo: This might be unpopular, but this is my favourite of the two Kanye songs here. This is one of Chance’s best verses, and the relatively minimal production puts the focus on the lyrics, which are great. (8.2)drakeisskinny: to slow i hate slow songs n i hate kayne (1)Fire: I want to like this more. I like the lyrics, but nothing else really sticks out that much for me unfortunately. (6.2)shruggie: Damn, I don't remember the last time I've seen Chance The Rapper performing this well before. While Jesus Walks runs circles around this, it's still good for me. (7.5)D12: (6.4)Overall Score: 37.4Roadblock Results:(Sent by Zedd)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this song has some really great build up during it. A part of me does wish the song did a little more outside of the build up throughout it, but it’s still a solid track regardless. (8.2)Samo: That one synth in the verses is pretty annoying, and I’m not really a fan of a lot of the rest of the song. The vocals aren’t technically bad, I just don’t really enjoy Robert Smith’s vocal tone. Overall, it sticks out as a weak point in an otherwise good group of songs, sorry. (5.9)walt: More great “sad club” music (there’s a lot of it in this round lmao), the synths here are really euphoric sounding and hit so hard and it’s complemented by Robert Smith of The Cure’s always emotive vocal performance. Great stuff. (9.1)Tanooki: i will pull a van gogh on both ears this s**t sucks this song f**king sucks i hate it so much what the f**k, who the f**k thought of making this horrid garbage i hate it (9.8)Matt: I remember checking this out a few months ago from someone's recommendation and just giving it a 2.5/5. Returning to this, I think i may have been a bit too harsh. I love the keys carrying the production throughout as well as the harsher production coming in towards the chorus. The vocal's aren't half bad too; my one problem is that i don't love the song structure; i think another verse with the production hitting just a bit harder may have helped it out a bit. I definitely have come around to this a bit more though. (7.4)Mylo: Cute song! I found this catchy and fun, nice choice~ (8)Samb: The production is so gorgeous. Really love the twinkling sounds in the background. Great bassline too and I always loved when there's a groovy bassline in a song lol. The hook has a great punch to it. (8.2)Overall Score: 56.6Special Roadblock Results:(Sent by Mylo)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: it took me like 10 minutes to motivate myself to press play on this. it’s a very bad song (0.3)Samo: ew. This song’s flaws have been talked about so much that there isn’t really anything I can add; it’s such a pointless song, and disappointment from everyone involved, even 6ix9ine. (0.1)wripwrap: I hate to admit it but this is low key a catchy song. I can’t really rate it much higher than this since A) it’s 6ix9ine and B) the lyrics are literally ass. (3)will: (2)Daryl: 6ix9ine is a fucking hack. There isn't a single song involved in him that I like, and he ruins songs whereby he's the featured artist. (e.g. "Swervin'") And songs such as this exemplify why. While he's thankfully not shouting in this track, his autotuned vocals sound awful. The lyrics on this are disgusting. I've said it before that I'm not a fan of Nicki Minaj, so it's saying something when she's the better part of the song. And the music isn't interesting, too. (0.5)Zedd: All memes aside, this song is not good at all. These two have no chemistry and Nicki’s verse makes me feel uncomfortable (the “did I catch a case?” line specifically.) It’s not even laughably bad, it’s just sad. (2.1)Lukas: (5)Overall Score: 13 -> 57unfortunately, two decent roadblocks weren't enough to counteract a...choice for the detour. neither of you will be eliminated, but both of your teams will receive a speed bump next leg

Leg 13: Manila & BrisbaneChallenge #1: Roadblock (Manila)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
Challenge #2: Detour (Brisbane)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending for Detour Theme: Youthful Zeal or War Mobile Youthful Zeal: Brisbane is known for its youthful zeal. For this detour, you must send a song that has similar youthful zeal, namely one released on or after May 1st, 2020. OR War Wheel: Brisbane was the busiest port for submarines during World War 2, allowing it to help turn the wheels of war. For this detour, you must send a song about war.
Dylo and The Canadian Ducks will also have to do a speed bump this leg.
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Feel free to ask myself and Samo any and all questions you may have. The world is waiting for you. Travel safe. Go!

Leg 13 Songs:Challenge #1: Roadblock (Manila)Roadblock Theme: ChinatownManila’s Chinatown is one of the top attractions within the city. For this roadblock, you must send a song where an artist sings in a language other than their native one, similar to how the culture of Manila’s Chinatown is not native to the Philippines.Songs:Bjork - Human Behavior Lady Gaga - La Vie En Rose Madonna - La Isla Bonita Ritchie Valens - La Bamba Robyn/Kleerup - With Every Heartbeatand joining us to judge this challenge is @antigonerising and Zach Challenge #2: Detour (Brisbane)Youthful Zeal Songs:Jessie Ware - In Your Eyes Kim Petras - Malibu Taylor Swift - cardigan Taylor Swift/Bon Iver - exile Terrance Martin - Pig Feetand joining us to judge this challenge is filthy and Geometrical Speed Bump (Manila)Speed Bump Theme: Country ClubThe Manila Country Club, despite being a big attraction within Manila, is much smaller than most other championship country clubs. For this speed bump, you must send a song that similarly underperformed compared to its peers, namely a single by a mainstream artist that flopped.Songs:Carly Rae Jepsen - Run Away With Me Lorde - Perfect PlacesJudges, please get your scores in within the next three days!

Whoever figured out that a foreign artist singing in English qualifies is a genius.

becoming the first team with more than 3 wins we have...1. The Lights (walt91 & Lukas)Overall Score: 71.2 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Detour Rank: #4 | Bonus From Last Leg: +5.4Roadblock Results:(Sent by walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is a very solid dance pop track. I think the strings that are used mix super well with the more electronic elements of the production. vocals are really good also (8.5)Samo: I want to like this more, but I’m not a huge fan of Robyn’s vocals here, and the production has some cool ideas but it doesn’t change up enough to keep me interested the entire way through. (7.6)Cynthia: well you can never go wrong with Robyn! ry4n was right in that whoever thought to get through this with a foreigner doing an English-speaking song is genius, though it damn near feels like cheating lol. (9)Zach: This song's melody is super infectious, and the production is well handled. This is a first listen for me and I like it a lot. Robyn's voice has never been to my taste, but this is yet another one of her songs where all other aspects of the song more than make up for that. (8.4)Overall Score: 33.5Detour Results:(Youthful Zeal)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: an absolute banger. this is my second favorite Kim song and it’s everything a summer pop song should be (9.7)Samo: I’ve been listening to this since it was released, and it just keeps growing on me. It’s insanely catchy, and Kim sounds great, especially after the key change. (9.7)filthy: Malibu is a great song that is very easy for anybody to get into. It's catchy, but also kinda bland and generic. Imma give this a bonus point for the brilliant cover art though (6.5)Geometrical: (6.4)Overall Score: 32.3a great roadblock made up for a weaker detour choice, and gave you two a 4th (well, 3.5th) win! you'll get a +0.9 bonus next leg
