narrowly missing out on 1st place we have...2. Sambal Wrap (Sambalada & wrip )Overall Score: 70.7 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Detour Rank: #3 | Bonus From Last Leg: +5.2Roadblock Results:(Sent by wripwrap)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think I prefer Lady Gaga doing these types of songs to her more electro pop tracks. her voice just suits this more classical instrumentation so well. the horns here are also fantastic (9.3)Samo: Gaga’s performance is really impressive here, but it does feel like a more obvious choice for this theme. It’s a good enough listen, but I don’t ever find myself actively seeking it out. (7.6)Cynthia: this and La Isla Bonita are really the two most no-brainer, 'let me just pick something that anyone will know and not give me a s**tty score' choices anyone can make, can't really knock either team for taking the easy way up the mountain this time. As to La Vie En Rose specifically, this is a really lovely cover. (8.5)Zach: On this track's parent soundtrack was an enjoyable listen, yes, but there were very few memorable tracks on it for me. This song though, is one I regularly revisit on its own. (6.6)Overall Score: 32Detour Results:(Youthful Zeal)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I’ve been hearing a lot of Jessie Ware for STM and her tracks have been a mixed bag for me so far. I think this one in particular is good though. the groove is very solid and gives off some good vibes. the chorus is also just all sorts of dreamy and I kinda love it lol (9.4)Samo: It’s probably my least favourite of the songs I’ve heard so far from What’s Your Pleasure?, but it’s still good. It’s enjoyable, but there’s nothing I like here that Spotlight didn’t do better. (7.9)filthy: I love the 80s and this song sounds like the 80s so imma give it a 8.0 (8)Geometrical: (8.2)Overall Score: 33.5it was close, but not having any great performances leaves you two in 2nd place. you'll get a +0.4 bonus next leg

escaping the bottom 2 by 0.2 points we have...3. The Canadian Ducks (willapted33 & matteeeb)Overall Score: 65.9 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Detour Rank: #2 | Bonus From Last Leg: +1.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I really dig the groove here. I think Madonna works with it well, and while it may not reinvent the wheel in any way it’s a very enjoyable track (8.6)Samo: Among Madonna’s earlier hits this isn’t one of my favourites, but it’s pretty good. It does technically fit the theme, but I wish more than a couple of lines through the whole song had actually been in Spanish. (7.7)Cynthia: not one of my favorite Madonna songs tbh, but I'm not gonna downrate it too badly. It just always throws me off that it's one of her more mentioned 80s hits because I barely recall ever hearing this compared to her other songs. (8)Zach: I like this fine enough, it's one of my dad's favourites from Madonna. I genuinely think this track works quite well, but there's something about its lyrics that's always made me cringe a bit. Kinda cheesy, I guess? (7)Overall Score: 31.3Detour Results:(Youthful Zeal)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: the main piano melody and the vocals are fantastic. I also like the part at the end of the song where both singers are singing but they’re singing different lyrics that present conflicting stories. it’s a cool little moment. I don’t dig the post chorus though (9.2)Samo: It’s probably not even in my top 5 on folklore but I love this. It takes a couple minutes for the song to build to something more interesting, but the rest of the song is fantastic. (8.9)filthy: I didn't enjoy Folklore that much. I found it too dull. But Exile is my favourite song from the album by far. With records like these, I always find myself only listening to one song, and never touch the rest so that I won't get tired of it. It's the same with artists like Nav. I know I just compared Taylor Swift to Nav, but Exile is the song I decided to like from Folklore (8)Geometrical: (8.1)Overall Score: 34.2Speed Bump Results:Judge's Thoughts:Nick: great song but it’s a boring af pick lol. there were better choices from Carly (-0.7)Samo: Nice. If you’ve been on Pulse a while, you might know that this is my favourite song of all time. It’s literally a perfect song, and I’m so glad you two chose to send it. (0)Overall Penalty: -0.7your speed bump could've had you close to elimination, but an otherwise average performance left you in the middle of the pack. you'll get a +0.2 bonus next leg

earning the final spot in our final 4 is...4. The Mild Dislikers of Justin Bieber (@matthewlam & tanooki )Overall Score: 65.7 | Roadblock Rank: #5 | Detour Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Legs: +0Roadblock Results:(Sent by Tanooki)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: who doesn’t love this song haha. it’s just so much fun, and the production and melodies are incredibly catchy and infectious. it’s really just such a feel good track one can’t help but enjoy it (9.6)Samo: This is really catchy, but parts of it are kind of annoying, especially the vocals. It’s also pretty repetitive in its sound despite only being two minutes long. (5.2)Cynthia: I don't have any particular memory to associate with this song but every time I think of it I immediately feel like I'm a kid in the '80s again (due to the movie/Los Lobos cover from the 80s - I did hear this one a lot). So it's just the general tingle of nostalgia that makes this one strike a chord with me. (9.5)Zach: Ok so this one's a classic. Unfortunately it's one that I've never liked very much. Annoying. (4.7)Overall Score: 29Detour Results:(Youthful Zeal)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think this is the fastest I’ve seen a song just become a classic. it speaks for itself (9.9)Samo: Wow. This was a great first listen last month, and it’s only growing on me more every time I hear it. There’s not a lot I really need to say about this, because it’s obvious why it’s great. (8.6)filthy: man.... (9.5)Geometrical: (8.7)Overall Score: 36.7despite a subpar roadblock performance, you two won the detour and managed to survive the leg (even though you won't get a bonus next leg)and unfortunately being eliminated we have...5. Dylo (Mylo13 💜 & Daryl the Beryl )Overall Score: 61.7 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Detour Rank: #5 | Bonus From Last Legs: +0.6Roadblock Results:(Sent by Daryl)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I definitely respect Björk, but like with her song last leg this just isn’t really something I ever want to seek out that much. while her vocals are impressive, I find them to be kinda overwrought at points during the track (7.6)Samo: I have a hard time enjoying a lot of Björk’s music as much as I respect it, but this is one of the better songs I’ve heard. It has enough going on in the production to keep me interested, but it still very much sounds like a Björk track. (8.2)Cynthia: listening to Bjork is a lot like going to a fine art exhibit where you kind of know going in that whatever you're looking at is already hopelessly beyond your intellectual reach, but you hang around for a while anyway because you feel at least a little bit smarter just for being there. Not going to pretend I seek her out on a regular basis, but I appreciate her presence. (8)Zach: This is legit the song that started my experience with Bjork. I fell in love with its lyrics and became mesmerized by her voice, it remains one of my favourite songs from her to this day. (9.3)Overall Score: 33.1Detour Results:(Youthful Zeal)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I do enjoy this song quite a bit but it’s a really lazy pick lol. like you had quite a few better choices on folklore and just in general. still a great track though, there’s this really nice vocal key change towards the end of the track that I just adore. but I do worry how this’ll do with the other judges (9)Samo: This isn’t one of my favourites on folklore, but it’s still very good. Taylor sounds nice, but the best songs on the album have something extra, whether it’s in the lyrics or production, which stops this from being outright great. (8.3)filthy: this song belongs to THË ŠHÅDØW RĘÅŁM💀 (3.5)Geometrical: (7.3)Overall Score: 28.1Speed Bump Results: Judge's Thoughts:
Nick: this is probably one of my favorites from Melodrama. it’s got a nice chorus and the beat is really cool. no points off! (0)
Samo: This is also fantastic, just not Lorde’s absolute best, or the best song sent for the speed bump. It’s still an exceptional song, and a fantastic choice for this theme. (-0.1)
Overall Penalty: -0.1 you two did well on the roadblock, but your weak detour performance brought you two to a 5th place finish, and I'm sorry to say but you have been eliminated from the race. thanks for playing!

Leg 14: Los Angeles & San FranciscoChallenge #1: Detour (Los Angeles)What is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forDetour Theme: Summer Tunes or TV ToonsSummer Tunes: When people think of LA, the main things they tend to think of are the warm weather and the nice beaches, especially during the summer. For this detour, you must send a song that captures that feeling, namely one that was a top 10 hit during summer (end of June to end of September)ORTV Toons: While LA is mainly known entertainment wise for being home to Hollywood and lots of movie production, it is also home to quite a bit of television production! For this detour, you must send a song written for a TV show.Challenge #2: Roadblock (San Francisco)What is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
Challenge #3: Intersection (San Francisco)What is an intersection? In these challenges, two teams are paired up and must complete the challenge together. The groups are based on the placements from last leg, with 1st being paired with 4th, and 2nd with 3rd. So here are the groups:
The Lights (walt91 & Lukas ) and The Mild Dislikers of Justin Bieber (@matthewlam & tanooki ) Sambal Wrap (Sambalada & wrip ) and The Canadian Ducks (willapted33 & matteeeb )
Intersection Theme: Reggae Club One interesting, though not quite as well known, thing in San Fran is the prominence of reggae clubs within the city! There are quite a few well reviewed reggae clubs within the city. For this intersection, you must send a reggae song.
Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 36 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Feel free to ask myself and Samo any and all questions you may have. The world is waiting for you. Travel safe. Go!

leading by over 9 points we have...1. The Canadian Ducks (willapted33 & matteeeb )Overall Score: 102.5 | Detour Rank: #1 | Roadblock Rank: #2 | Intersection Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.2Detour Results:(Summer Tunes)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: it’s certainly not my favorite Coldplay song but it’s still a fantastic track. the lyrics are quite well written and I love the instrumental. that chorus is just so iconic haha (9.2)Samo: It’s not quite my favourite Coldplay song, but it’s an impressive song nonetheless. Chris Martin has almost never sounded better, and the classical instruments are mixed really well with the more modern pop production. (9.2)nick64: The strings in this song are just gorgeous, and the lyrics are a really interesting take on a fall from power. I’ve always found this to be their best attempt at mixing their usual style with pop appeal. (9.5)Daryl: This is one of Coldplay's last great songs before they released Everyday Life last year, and is their 2nd most streamed solo single for good reason. Timeless. (8)Overall Score: 35.9Roadblock Results:(Sent by will)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: easily the best written of these 4 tracks. the song is haunting and the tale it tells is a truly chilling one, but that only makes the song all the more important. (9.6)Samo: Strange fruit is decent, but is too weak sounding , too relaxed for me. I generally like strong, bright, happy sounding music. The sound of the music is more important for me than the lyrics, usually. (8.7)Kyle: Great (7)Mylo: I wasn't expecting this type of song from this title but I kinda dig it! It's low-key but works in a calm, smooth way. Which is pretty scary considering the theme of this song. The audio quality was obviously not great but otherwise I didn't have any issues with this one, cool song~ (8)Overall Score: 33.3Intersection Results:(Sent with Sambal Wrap)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is such a great song. I love the lyrics, and the vocals are really strong as well. it’s gotten so much acclaim for a reason, it’s a wonderful track! (9.5)Samo: Of the two intersection choices this is easily the better one imo. The vocals are far more pleasant, and the lyrics are still great. I wish I liked the production more (it’s decent, just not that interesting), but everything else about the song is very good. (7.9)owen: (8)AwesomePostMalone: If there’s one thing for sure about me, it’s that I love Post Malone have never been a reggae fan. I kinda dig this tho. The melody is chill and that outro steals the show. (7.7)Overall Score: 33.1congratulations on getting another win, and being the first team to make the finale! you'll be getting a +0.7 bonus in the final leg

getting a 3rd consecutive top 2 finish we have...2. The Lights (walt91 & Lukas)Overall Score: 93.45 | Detour Rank: #3 | Roadblock Rank: #1 | Intersection Rank: #2 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.9Detour Results:(Summer Tunes)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: it’s about time y’all sent this haha. I think it’s a great pop track with super strong vocals from Ellie. the main riff of the song is also super catchy! (8.8)Samo: Even as someone who’s liked a lot of Ellie’s more recent music, I wish she’d make more songs in this style, because this is some of the best pop production of the 2010s. Ellie also delivers a good vocal performance, and the lyrics are very creative. (9.5)nick64: I was always pretty impressed at the lyrics she was able to pull from such a simple concept, but the real stars here are the production and vocals, which create such a cool atmosphere that was refreshing back in 2012 and honestly still is. (9)Daryl: Ah, I miss this Ellie. The synths are lovely! (7.75)Overall Score: 35.05Roadblock Results:(Sent by walt)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think this is probably my favorite Billie song sonically. I like how tight the guitars are and I enjoy how Billie Eilish uses more of her range her. the build up to the chorus is really cool, and the chorus itself is kinda bizarre but I dig it. lyrics are weird as hell but hey, that’s the point of the theme I guess (8.8)Samo: I’m not as much a fan of don’t smile at me compared to most people, but this is one of the stronger songs I’ve heard on it. I really like the buildup to each chorus, but the chorus itself feels sort of anticlimactic. (7.9)Kyle: Great (7)Mylo: Love, love, love this track. It's haunting, beautiful and a great display of Billie's talents. That last chorus is perfect, and the production work is immaculate. Excellent choice! (9.7)Overall Score: 33.4Intersection Results:(Sent with The Mild Dislikers of Justin Bieber)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love me some Bob Marley. I can imagine the vocals in the chorus being off putting for some but I really dig how they flow in the song. this song also has some great lyrics, and is overall just a great pick from the reggae genre! (8.7)Samo: The vocals in the chorus are my only real issue with this, but they’re so irritating to listen to that they brought my score down by at least a couple points. The lyrics are strong enough that I can still give this a positive score, but the song could easily be a lot better. (5.4)owen: (7)AwesomePostMalone: That intro is breathtaking but unfortunately the rest of the song does absolutely nothing for me. I hope there are no hard feelings, and I wish all 4 of you the best of luck, both in the race and in whatever is going on in your real lives. (3)Overall Score: 24.1you were extremely close to The Canadian Ducks prior to the intersection, but are instead much closer to the bottom 2 overall. congratulations on getting a place in the finale; you'll be getting a +0.2 bonus in the final leg

clinching the last spot in the finale we have...3. Sambal Wrap (Sambalada & wrip )Overall Score: 90.15 | Detour Rank: #4 | Roadblock Rank: #3 | Intersection Rank: #1 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0.4Detour Results:(TV Toons)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: save for “Happy Without Me” I haven’t really dug Chloe x Halle much. this song doesn’t particularly break that trend. while I appreciate the more unique elements of the song and I think it’s well written, the song just kinda sounds messy overall. respect for going with a riskier pick, but I can’t say I love the choice. sorry (7)Samo: I wasn’t really a fan of this. I haven’t been huge on anything I’ve heard by these two (except Ungodly Hour), but this might be my least favourite. I especially don’t like the vocals, but the production isn’t anything special either, which only puts more focus on the vocals. (4.1)nick64: I typically like Chloe x Halle as vocalists, but I absolutely hate what they’re doing with their voices here. The chorus is pretty well produced and decently catchy, but the lyrics and the clapping are just so generic. (6)Daryl: Decent, nothing more, nothing less. (6.25)Overall Score: 23.35Roadblock Results:(Sent by Samb)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I find this song so peculiar and I kinda love it. the lyrics are so dark but the song is so cheery. like if you told me this upbeat, fun song was about a serial killer I’m not sure I’d believe you haha. but I do love the sound, and even if it clashes with the lyrics I find it charming as a remnant of the 50s (9.4)Samo: I somehow hadn’t heard this (at least, not in full) before now, and it’s easily my favourite discovery this leg. The upbeat late 50s/early 60s production and the lyrics about a serial killer are a strange combination, but it really helps the song stand out from the others of its time. (9.4)Kyle: Great (7)Mylo: Despite this being one of the biggest songs ever, this was a first listen. It was fun and bouncy, I didn't even really consider this aggressive haha. Nice song! (7.5)Overall Score: 33.3Intersection Results:(Sent with The Canadian Ducks)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is such a great song. (7.7)Overall Score: 33.1it looked like this would be the end of your time in the race, but the intersection saved you from elimination. congratulations on making the finale; unfortunately, you won't have a bonus going into the final legwhich means the eliminated team must be...4. The Mild Dislikers of Justin Bieber (@matthewlam & tanooki )Overall Score: 89 | Detour Rank: #2 | Roadblock Rank: #4 | Intersection Rank: #2 | Bonus From Last Leg: +0Detour Results:(Summer Tunes)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: this is like the definition of just a chill, feel good summer track. the vocals are very strong and I absolutely love the piano work. the backing vocals in the chorus really elevate the song, as does the guitar at the end of the song (9.5)Samo: It’s a really relaxing listen, and is definitely the best fit for “Summer Tunes” in terms of sound. The lyrics are also pretty empowering, despite being about a breakup. My favourite parts of the song are the horns and guitar that come in after the bridge. (8.1)nick64: Huge props for going with this throwback route. The piano and percussion mix perfectly for a nice breezy tune that’s “easy” to sing along to. This also fits the theme best out of all the options. (10)Daryl: Like its title suggests, it's an easy going song that gets better as the song progresses. (7.5)Overall Score: 35.1Roadblock Results:(Sent by Tanooki)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I think the sample here is used really well! it fits pretty perfectly with the beat itself. Kendrick’s flow and lyrics are as strong as ever here, and while it probably isn’t my favorite song from him (it’s not even my favorite song you two have sent from him during the race haha) it’s still a really strong track. (9.5)Samo: Kendrick’s songs almost always have great lyrics, and this is no exception. The storytelling is outstanding, and the production is also really interesting. It’s not the best song I’ve heard from DAMN., but it’s very good anyway. (8.3)Kyle: Excellent (8)Mylo: This wasn't that bad. I liked some elements of it but Kendrick's style is just overall not for me. One of his better ones that I've heard, it's no DNA. lol. Good luck! (4)Overall Score: 29.8Intersection Results:(Sent with The Lights)Judge's Thoughts:Nick: I love me some Bob Marley. (3)Overall Score: 24.1you two have had an amazing run, but you've unfortunately been eliminated from the race. thanks for playing!

Leg 15 (Final Leg!): HalifaxChallenge #1: DetourWhat is a detour? In these challenges, two themes will be available, and teams will choose to send a song for the one they feel more confident in. Be sure to specify which theme you are sending forFinal Leg Note: For this leg, there will be 4 themes and you will need to send 2 songs for two different themesDetour Theme: Underrated VariationThe city of Halifax is bursting at the brim with a variety of interesting culture. Despite this, it is not one of the most populous or most visited cities in Canada. This detour represents the variety of culture in Halifax, while also representing how it isn’t the most famous city ever. Alt/Rock: Send an alt/rock song that never touched the Hot 100.ORCountry: Send a country song that never touched the Hot 100.ORPop: Send a pop song that never touched the Hot 100.ORR&B/Hip-Hop: Send an R&B/hip-hop song that never touched the Hot 100.Remember you must choose to send a song for TWO of the four detour options.Challenge #2: RoadblockWhat is a roadblock? In these challenges, only one member of the team can come up with a song to send. No consulting. You'll be on the honor system here. Send in your group pm who will do this road block. They will then without consulting their teammate see the theme and send the song in individual pms. tl;dr only one person sends a song, pick who that is in the group pms, then and only then they see the theme
Challenge #3: Special RoadblockWhat is a special roadblock? It's like a roadblock but the goal is to send the worst song possible. The scoring is reversed (a 1/10 becomes a 9/10). The team member that doesn't do the regular roadblock has to take the special roadblock
Final ChallengeOne thing Halifax is full of is history. Due to its wartime prominence, the city is chock full of museums and historical sites looking back on the past. Now, it’s your turn to look back on the past. For the final challenge, you must send two songs that you have previously sent during the race that you feel represent your time in the race. Consult with your teammate and get your songs in within 48 hours or else your team will NOT have a song in that category and will get an automatic 0/10. Feel free to ask myself and Samo any and all questions you may have. The winner of this leg will be declared the winner of the Pulse Amazing Race Season 2. For the last time, the world is waiting for you. Travel safe. Go!
