Ooh top 5 time! Lots of people seem to think it will be “Fancy” and I do too but we have also seen some upsets in these Rankdowns.

For our first top 5 elimination.... Let's say goodbye to the first consistent #1 contender of this rankdown!

Lower than I thought it would be, but such a great song. Though it wasn’t close to the top of my Read My Mind list, I really do love it. It’s such a great story song.

I definitely was expecting this to be a top two contender! “The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter” was certainly the biggest hit from the album at the time and remains a go-to for me whenever I put it on. Speaking of...I just realized I haven’t even opened or played the vinyl to the special edition of Read My Mind so I’ll be putting that on this weekend lol.

With "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter", we say goodbye to my #1. We also say goodbye to the song that was our most consistent early #1 contender! By the halfway point it was not holding onto #1 anymore and another song took over, but it was a VERY consistent top 5 contender at least!! I just love everything about this one. The musical arrangement in particular is straight fire. The moment that electric guitar kicks off the intro, a euphoric joy always fills my body It's such a unique song for Queen Reba, but also fits so quintessentially into her catalog. All around a very fitting top 5 finisher here!!

Wow I'm surprised I was the top ranker for "Why Not Me" considering 80s country isn't an area I'm super familiar with.

Amazon cancelled my order of that due to low stock, and I never bothered reordering. I’m not sure what I was planning on doing with it since I don’t have a vinyl player anyway, haha. Hope you enjoy it!

One of my favourite Tim McGraw songs ever. The Everywhere album was such a giant.

Phew...I was actually wondering if this might be the song that could somehow pull off a win. If I’m being honest “Where the Green Grass Grows” is so overplayed and I just literally have no desire to revisit the song. I’ve heard it about enough in my lifetime and then some.

I really enjoy “Where The Green Grass Grows”. I am surprised that it landed as high as it did but at the same time, there were some points in the entry phase when this could’ve landed much lower than it did. Glad it made the top 5 in the end.
All of the top 4 of this ranking are in the top 4 so any result is fine by me at this point!

"Where The Green Grass Grows" is such a damn good song. The twin fiddles in the intro do not EVER get old!!! It has probably been overplayed through the years, but tbh it deserves it. This is '90s Tim at his most iconic!!! In other news, congratulations to ClevelandRox for getting a song from his VERY first rankdown into the top 4 of RotB How does that feel???

I really expected it to go in the twenties (and by the trajectory, it easily could have!) so top five is awesome. I'm so glad everyone's really embraced the Tim rankdowns. The next Best/Revenge will be Tim overload, so I'm not expecting nearly this good of a result. 😂

And how about “Sparrow”! I’ve said it before but that is a signature song in waiting for Ashley, so it would be an incredible disappointment if her label doesn’t release it as the next single.

When boat pulls that 1-2-3 punch and you think the reveal you're looking at is third at first! And then realize it's #1! When we got the list, Fancy was the clear winner for me. I definitely think it deserves to be in this ultimate rankdown yall are talking about. Her momma finally moved her uptown! Yeah that happens the further through an artist’s albums discography you get, haha. Probably nothing from the self-titled album will compete for top 10 🤣 I don't know, What She Left Behind and Ain't No Angels could be some real competitors! 😂

Lmao that was very intentional in this case ;) I know y'all were waiting for "Fancy" to leave any time so you could be all disappointed!!!!

I think this was my favorite in the series thus far if only because “Fancy” finally got its revenge. Thanks again, bboat11!

I love that bboat11 decided to borrow my idea of revealing the winner first in the post instead of the runner-up! I always do that because it just looks the best. Nice to see it make an appearance here. ;) "Fancy" didn't even make my top 20 in this STACKED set of songs, but I am certainly happy with this outcome as it is an iconic song indeed worthy of a RD victory! "Sparrow" and "New Strings" made my top 10 and I prefer to listen to both of those, but of the three, "Fancy" winning does make the most sense.

Thank you to everyone who followed along and/or participated. I am sorry this rankdown did not progress as smoothly as mine normally do, but at least it is over and we don't have to worry about BotB/RotB again for another half a year or so My final thoughts are YESSSSS IT IS ABOUT TIME "FANCY" WINS A DAMN RANKDOWN!!!!!! It's always getting done dirty, but absolutely NOTHING in this rankdown proved to be a match for it in the end!! This is yet another extremely satisfying RotB win imo. Giving songs like "Bye Bye", "When God-Fearin' Women Get The Blues", and "Fancy" their chance to fight for redemption is exactly why these rankdowns are so much fun!!

Thank you for doing this Rankdown @bboat! It was a fun one. “Fancy” is a classic, “Sparrow” is a great song (as is everything I have heard from Ashley so far) and “New Strings” is a really nice listen as well. NS is actually still one of my very favorites from Miranda all these years later. If anyone hasn’t participated and is interested in participating in the Lee Brice Rankdown that is currently in the submission phase, please check it out and send me your lists.
