60. Ghost on the Beach - InsidersThis was a first time listen that sounded so cool I squeezed it into my top 50. The Hooters, Outfield and a bit of Mellencamp in the verses all rolled into one. Also has a Spanish Rock vibe. 59. On the Western Skyline - Bruce Hornsby and the Rangehey its been a while since one of my bottom 10's showed up. I know I know he stayed away from the annoying tapping, but this till sounded like some Miller Time commercial reject. 58. Come as You Are - Peter WolfI had to sacrifice this song big time on this list. 80's range is my cut off point of songs I liked, so it's still basically a song I like. Just depends on the day I guess. 57. Don't Mean Nothing - Richard Marx Pretty cool rocker. I really dug Richard's vocals when he rocked out. 56. I Want to Make the World Turn Around - Steve Miller BandOh boy this one sucked bad. Didn't like anything about it. It seems that right after "Abra Cadabra" Steve's ability to write hit songs went "poof". 55. We're Ready - BostonWhat an Outrage. 8D I feel I must scold everyone here, but I'm just to tired to do so. Anyway, This is "Don't Look Back" part II. I know we probably get to rank "Amanda" and if it makes the top 50 on these RD games I'm gonna set loose one of my biggest rants ever. BTW #55 is still an embarrassment to 80s' Album Rock. 54. Should've Known Better - Richard MarxRichard Marx has now left the building. As far as Richard Marx goes this is one of my top 3 songs from him. 53. Cherry Bomb - John MellencampI think this blows "Paper In Fire" away. Also its way better than the last handful of songs we ranked from him in past RD's. It should have easily been a top 30 song on this RD. I don't even know how to dance to accordion music , but this one has soul. I better see some top 50 action for "R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A" and "Lonely ol Night". 52. Johnny B. - The HootersI guess it makes sense For Hooters to show up after Mellencamp. This isn't "Day By Day", but it has a really great melody. What is that Irish? I know they American, but that kinda sounds Irish. 51. Jammin' Me - Tom Petty & the HeartbreakersComon people this Jams way better than that "Runway Trains" song. WTF? I also think this one best fits his 'Damn The Torpedoes' days best. BTW thanks to these reveals my top 20 is now only hair and Cars related music. 50. Mandolin Rain - Bruce Hornsby and the RangeDammit! This had to squeeze in to the top 50. Well something had to be my #100. I like most of these songs so I reserved my bottom 3 for bands I just can't stand. Bruce Hornsby and co. is a complete tune out to me. 49. Rag Doll - Aerosmith At least we made top 50 here. This is one of my favorite Aerosmith songs. Has that sleazy lyrical vibe like "Walk This Way". This is picture perfect rock. has a bit of that blues vibe like Ratt and Rolling Stones with equally strong vocal tones and hooks. That's easily a Shelby Cobra he is driving. Rockers had a ll the best cars and music videos. 48. Jane's Getting Serious - Jon AstleyGot a perfect rank with one of the Modern Rock cruise Overs. I still really dig this one on any list of songs. 47. One Slip - Pink FloydYes! that clears my bottom 3. This is completely the opposite of what i can rock out to. excruciating long intros ,and I'm not really a fan of those exotic sound worlds either. The rest of the song isn't horrible, but it's not better than the 97 songs I put above it. At least not for me. That long intro just put me to sleep. 46. Heat of the Night - Bryan Adams Well look at that! Half of PULSE enjoyed a Bryan Adams song more than I did. :o You won't see that happening too often. This song is ok it isn't a very exciting Bryan Adams song. 45. Good Times - INXS with Jimmy BarnesA very un INXS song. Jimmy Barnes is worst aspect of the song. Michael is the best. 'nuff said. 44. Should I See - Frozen GhostThis one was great. has that 80's vibe like Icehouse. The chorus really shot it up mu list. 43. Dirty Water - Rock & Hydehilariously enough this song only dropped one slot lower form my Modern Rock list. I just didn't care for it all all. The chorus was lagging in every way possible and i absolutely hated the song's melodic direction 42. The Finer Things - Steve WinwoodA wonderful Steve Winwood entry . Easily his best take on "While You See A Chance" unlike other listeners I really respect when a artist new music comes really close sounding to their previous flawless hits. Why fix anything that was never broke to begin with? Oh yeah so "Valerie" would have made my top 20. 41. Who Will You Run To - HeartThis is obviously the one that was gonna make my top 30 right?. Wrong. I ranked The other one is even higher, and it's Aqua Net related. ***BTW, Did anyone else notice that both Daryl the Beryl and I gave the same exact ranking to the last two songs? I think that's even more exiting than tonight's set of reveals.

Extras:alright let's get the Monsters of Metal battle out of the way. Crazy Crazy Nights - KISSFirst the rant. Rock radio tried did everything to keep Kiss out of every YE list at least until "Hot In The Shade". We won't get to rank "Lick It Up", "Heaven's On Fire", "Tears Are Falling" despite all them getting massive MTV airplay. Now let's get to this song. The truth is it kinda sucked. Let me explain. Paul sounds stellar as always, but this doesn't sound like Kiss. It sounds like Danger Danger which I love, but don't need Kiss to sound like them. Also the chorus was lazy as F U C K. making "Crazy Crazy Nights" one of the few songs I do not like from Kiss. It's actually one of the worst songs from the album too. In retrospect I'm glad we didn't get to rank tank it. It might not have even made my top 50. Women - Def LeppardThis song is exactly the opposite of that Kiss fail. This was actually one of the best tracks off ' Hysteria'. I didn't pay too much attention to it back then, because let's face it the album was stacked, but now a days I come back to it a lot, and I listen to this album ten x more than anyone on this forum. This particular song could have been on 'High n' Dry". The chorus had that "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" atmosphere to it, and the guitars sounded like the master plan that gave birth to all the 'Hysteria' hit songs. I would have ranked this one top 10 and sacrificed one of my other top 10 multiple song charting bands. Tonight British Metal floors American Metal. tonight's EXTRAS:T rail of Broken Treaties - Little Steven & the Disciples of SoulFirst things first. I like it. Now for the head scratcher. Why does this Little Steven song sound like a Bon Jovi song? I Ain't Ever Satisfied - Steve Earle & the DukesSounds like a better attempt at the Bruce Hornsby style ,and with better vocals. Still there isn't many songs I would slot below this one. Incommunicado - MarillionAside from "Kayleigh" I didn't find much use for this band. Music was ok, but I didn't go for the way he crams "Incommunicado" into a whole chorus. tho it is the only part I find the music interesting. I Will Be There - Glass TigerGlass Tiger was cool. Maybe a little too Chicago meets Survivor for their own good, but they did have a couple songs I really loved. This isn't one of those. Kick the Wall - Jimmy Davis & JunctionFirst time listen. The way the guitar plays in the intro reminded me of Van Stephenson's "Modern day Delilah" which will be one of my top 10 songs if we get to rank it? This song actually had a lot of Van Stephenson vibe to it. Great movie soundtrack rock vibe. Dream Warriors - DokkenObviously I loved this one. It's from one of my trophy slasher flick favs of the 80's. It's probably my favorite of the franchise next to part 1 of course. For Dokken I loved al lot of songs. "Breakin The Chains", Into The Fire" , "In My Dreams" "Alone" and a bunch of other tracks you guys probably skip over when listening to their albums.. "Dream Warriors" was a certified Heavy Metal ballad. Top 20 on my list of songs. Also LOL! Dokken and Winger had completely different vibes. Something Real (Inside Me, Inside You) - Mr. MisterThis band had a cool Sophistipop sound to their music. I don't recall this particular song too much. Sounded like Paul Young doing a sillier than usual Genesis music video.. Great song tho. Shelter - L one JusticeOh yeah I remember this one well. Wonder why we didn't get a taste of it on Modern Rock? Follow You - Glen Burtnick First time listen, but it's definitely something I would upgrade on one of this RD thingies. Tomorrow night My Favorite Cinderella song that we didn't get to rank.

absolutely. RoN is cheesy, but fun. I think John Waite got a raw deal w/ many of his singles - and don't get me started w/ his marvelous If Anybody Had a Heart from the About Last Night soundtrack. That was criminally overlooked. Thank you. I was gonna mention that one on my post, but figured no one would remember it. My MO is everyone can love the popular tunes, I'll always be drawn to the lesser known "hits". Why love Every Breath You Take when you can appreciate the far superior Message in a Bottle that only eked out a #74. Shiny Happy People made the Top 10?!?! while Fall on Me only made it to #94. That one is mind-numbing. I always root for the underdog, when I can. I am loving the lists of every song to hit the Top 100 that rowellfarm490 posted a while back in the Lost Hits of the 80's. Have been slowly but methodically going through them year by year and found that a lot of crap makes the Top 100, but some incredible songs have been passed over inexplicably.

"Don't Mean Nothing" is my least favorite of the songs I have heard here. Bore and a half. "Should've Known Better" is way better. My "go to hell, Bryan Adams" services were needed, apparently. Pleasantly surprised that one song in particular is still in, though I imagine it will go out in the next set (and be their lowest song).

it’s not my 100, but very surprised that Alan Parsons is still in this Well here you go! This band was one of the few whose transition from the 70s to the 80s sounded fairly natural. Maybe because their style was always forward-looking Once you get past the weird Monday Night Countdown-esque intro this song is pretty neat Juanca appears to not have thought the same, though 40
