nickd I STAN this idea and WILL BE playing a drinking game with this once you're done 💗💗💗 Let me know if you want a version with different "rules". For example, although Should've Said No has no "fully unique" words using my rules, "weakness" isn't used in any other songs, only "weak" (Bad Blood) and "weaker" (Mean).

I'm doing an analysis of Taylor's discography where I look at words that are unique to specific songs. Words that are used in that song, but not in any other song in her discography. You can thing of these as signature or identifier words... it could be a fun idea for a game "what Taylor song uses this word: ". Also, the words really do have to be unique, so different tenses of a verb are counted as the same word, and words that contain common suffixes or prefixes are treated as if they're the same word as the root. So unloved, love, lovingly, loveless, lovers, loveliness, loveable, etc would all be considered as the same word. To start out, I looked at Taylor Swift (Self-Titled), this is how many unique words each song has 6 - Our Song (amen, napkin, pen, steering, tapping, trampled) 5 - Picture To Burn (concerned, fantasy, health, pickup, redneck) 4 - Tim McGraw (Chevy, Georgia, Tim McGraw, thankin') 3 - I'm Only Me When I'm With You (crickets, Friday, yard) 3 - Stay Beautiful (Cory, highlight, jungle) 2 - Teardrops On My Guitar (Drew, teardrops) 2 - Mary's Song (eighty, goodnight) 2 - A Place In This World (mission, tomorrow) 1 - Cold As You (condescending) 1 - Tied Together With A Smile (extra) 0 - Should've Said No0 - The Outside0 - Invisible0 - A Perfectly Good HeartAverage: 2.1 words taylor has never used the word tomorrow in any other song except a place in this world?

how possible is this? like i know she will have some giant bosses throwing a fit and trying their best to silence her but idk They might not be the biggest fans of the idea of artists owning masters, but they still want to make as much money as they can from their music. Republic isn't in it for the long run with Taylor, they basically have her masters on loan for 5 years which means that 5 years after her albums with them are released, they won't be able to make money off them, so they need to make the money now. I think it's also possible that they'll be distributing her re-recordings and make money off that? There was quite a lot of promo for ME!/Lover when it came out with strong playlisting and Billboards all over the world. It just wasn't the right song for a lead single. Her playlisting for Folklore wasn't as good, but it doesn't lend itself to playlisting that well since it's not the trendiest sound, and releasing the whole album all at once means that the streams and attention will be divide amongst all the new songs. Spotify usually only playlists 1-2 singles per artist at a time, and they look for singles that already get a lot of streams organically, and it's easier to maximize that if there's only 1 new song (single) at a time for the fans to focus their attention on. Taylor's Spotify absence also hurt her a little, in terms of how many people have her old songs saved to their library or how many followers her artist account and This Is playlists have. She's still doing pretty well on those fronts, with similar followers to Post Malone, but she's still behind Drake, Ed, Billie and Ariana. I say pretty well because she still has a significant lead over peers like Gaga, Beyonce and Katy when it comes to artist and This Is playlist followers.

"Lover" is such a special single-record. Its music and production feel timeless and reminiscent of Mazzy Star's "Fade into You," which is a pretty good point of reference. Now, I wish they'd release "August" as a single.

Does Taylor have the word "silver" in any of her songs? Nope, but she does use gold/golden quite often (in 10 songs).

doesn't surprise me that her sole entirely self-written album is her most creative (yet). curious to see if any other album (besides folklore) can top that one's average.

So, although it seems like there will be no new single from Folklore, I came up with a concept for the possible MVs. Each MV should be based on a fairytale/folktale. Cardigan MV was inspired by Peter Pan, and I could see a TLGAD MV based on a Russian folktale called Vasilisa The Beautiful. Exile MV would go perfectly with Beauty and the Beast. What stories would fit MVs of the other possible singles?

Would make sense why she ends up in the water on a piano in cardigan, and would tie them together. Then I’d want invisible string as a single and a piece of the string from her cardigan gave her love interest a path back to her. Would be cute to have the music videos create one cohesive storyline.

this (the 1 / exile) is the same situation for the last three eras, cruel summer / the man and idsb/getaway car when one song between two fan favorites finally becomes a single or gets a push but way too late

I don't think she's winning anything in the big 4 categories (or anything at all) tbh. they're gonna give aoty to abel, soty to his little song and roty to either him or roddy (although rom has a chance too). I thought that MA has a chance in the docu categories but black is king and hamilton are blocking her there. idk i dont want to have my hopes up again for the third time to just turn off the live and go to sleep sad again. i honestly dont trust them when they gave bad guy soty instead of fricking LOVER

While I fully support the BLM, it wouldn’t steer my vote if I was indeed a voter. I’m sure it will steer some votes, but I’d hope the voters really on the quality of the projects instead of the social climate. This isn’t the presidential election and trying to make a statement doesn’t really show respect to ANY of the artists that are nominated, let alone the black artists. The Grammys will feel pressure on both ends. You want to show equity across all genres but you also don’t want the black artists shut out in an award season that will highlight the inequality. I’m curious to see how it turns out. I think Taylor needs some big momentum going into voting season, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that she wins. Especially if there are multiple black nominees and they split the vote.
