This is going to be interesting to see honestly. I don't think I've seen a label to send three songs to four different formats around the same time, but I guess it's a smart move to cater all the possible audiences. The closest we got to this I think was when post dropped 'HB' and he was promoting "Circles", "Enemies", and "Allergic" all at once. When "TWYW" was brooming with potential.

I believe that "New Year's Day" did get an adds date, but not much of a real push. I haven't had a chance to dive into folklore yet (I did buy it from her website though), but I absolutely love "betty". I hope it is a big hit at country radio. I'm not too sure what to expect, but I wish her all the success in the world with it. Yeah it got an add date but it wasn't really pushed or promoted. Kind of like "Gorgeous" (in Europe) and "Getaway Car" (in Oceania).

This is showing in the ‘Spincrease’ section today on AllAccess. I like this song and I hope it can do well on country radio.

Do they censor the f word? The clean version goes 'would you tell me to go straight to hell.'

I like this. Interesting choice for Country especially since in isolation from the rest of the album, it sounds like a lesbian love song.. not that she needs Country radio airplay at this point.

Oh. Oh, I'm ALL here for Taylor Swift being played on my country radio again! It's not nearly my favorite from the album but it is just so distinctively country Taylor, and for that reason alone I hope radio eats this up and sends it at LEAST into the Top 30. (If NYD got to #41 with no effort at all, "betty" will absolutely hit Top 40)

Hope this gets some decent play. Though if some stations do read it is a same-sex love song, will they shy away from it?

As far as the country demographic knows, they think Taylor is probably as straight as a person can be, considering Red was the last era where she's been in the country spotlight and that was when the media was at it's peak trying to dismiss her by saying she goes through boys super fast. I doubt they'll think too much about it.

Does the radio edit also cut down the runtime? It’s a good song, but as a radio single it’s long, and it feels long. I’m not sure I see many stations wanting to spin it much at the current length.

Technically, it's already been released to the country format. It just doesn't impact until the 17th. The radio edit doesn't get rid of any lyrics (other than replacing the "go f**k myself" with "go straight to hell"). The only change is taking out music after every chorus -- which adds up to about 30 seconds being chopped off of the song.

I was listening to Fearless earlier and it's crazy that at the time Taylor was considered to be on the more pop side of country. If released today Fearless would be hailed as one of the most country sounding mainstream albums in the genre

Am I the only one annoyed that this is being released as a country single? It’s a great song don’t get me wrong but Taylor has made it clear she is no longer a country artist. Now I don’t think this is going to do very much at country radio but I wish our industry would actually support our artist like Kacey, Ashley, Lauren ect.
Again not bashing the song I like it.....I don’t like that her/her label are just trying to get more exposure by pushing it on country radio.
For every spin this gets its one less for another female that is actually in the country format.
