WHY DO ARTISTS KEEP DOING DELUXE EDITIONS WITH LIKE 2 EXTRA SONGS. In fact, why do they release them weeks later.. IT’S ANNOYING ... A couple extra tracks on a deluxe is the standard, though. But I do agree releasing them weeks later is annoying, especially if said deluxe has a bunch of random remixes/acoustic versions. |

Deluxe editions with 10+ new songs and pre-orders for physical singles....really?
I’m frustrated with the way the charts are going. I get why they’re using these strategies (it’s cuz they WORK), but the #1 spot on the Hot 100 is going to start meaning less & less. I never expected Nicki Minaj of all people to hold the record for shortest run (4 weeks) for a chart topper, but that’s where we are. Reaching #1 doesn’t guarantee anyone will remember the song.
The huge deluxe editions annoy me, but they’re at least more legitimate than the physical single strategy.

I don't understand why these people don't just release a new album? 10+ songs can be on a whole new album on it's own, I'm not sure why they tack all those songs to a current record.

You can tell Dababy has been working on his melodic sing/rap formula. Maybe ROCKSTAR won't be a fluke. DaBaby already had hits; Suge was top 10, Intro and Bop were both very close to Top 10. WHAT'S POPPIN also has him on it (the remix). He will continue to have hits. He is far from a one hit wonder. |

I'm well aware that Dababy has bunch of hits, I was talking about him adopting a bit different melodic/hook-style structure and having more big Top 40 moments like ROCKSTAR. I wasn't calling him a one hit wonder lol.

Yeah about that. I wonder if Weeknd would release AH part 2 or side B, as his tour's starting in June 21 and same goes for harry. After Hours does have a deluxe version. Just 3 new songs while the rest are remixes, standard deluxe treatment. |

Have artists ever previewed a new song on TikTok? I want to say yes, but not any artist of note. For example, I think Championxiii has done this, but I'm sure the vast majority of anyone who sees that name would say "who?" Lol. Tangentially, I do recall a bigger artist previewing their song on a Snapchat filter. I can't remember who it was, though. |

The song is being released Friday, once physical bundles require shipment to count. Her website says they won't ship til November. Yet they're doing pre-orders til Thursday night. Are those pre-orders gonna technically count because they were this tracking week? Even though the song isn't released til next tracking week?  I guess that's a pretty genius last minute loophole. Leave it to labels to find a way for bundles to count in weeks after they are no longer allowed. |

IIRC, it was at least a hit on her core formats, urban and rhythmic, so it's at least got that going for it. "Press," though... It has some IOP album tracks ahead of it, poor thing. IIRC, airplay was its strongest component. (I want to say it scraped the top 10 of urban?) So, like, none of them flops, but definitely all disappointed in terms of success. I personally enjoy all three tracks, so it was a shame seeing them not match the success of her other tracks. Quality wise, I know that's pretty subjective, but they all received mixed reception too. (Which, I can get for "Press" and even "Please Me" to an extent, but IMO "Money" is just as good as anything from IOP, so I'm not sure why it wasn't received as well as that album.) |
