Before the raankdown I thought Coachella would def be in bottom 5 And Shades of cool in top 15 or even higher... But the rankdown is a big surprise and that is why it is really interesting to me
Many songs are not where I thought they would end

#28 White Mustang 171 points (but it is at higher position because of #1 and placement at #2)White Mustang is Lana Del Rey song that was co-written with Rick Nowels and co-produced with Nowels, Kieron Menzies and Dean Reid. It is featured on her fifth studio album and fourth major-label studio album, Lust for Life. On July 27, 2017, Del Rey announced during a livestream on Instagram that a music video for the song would be released. She described it as futuristic, similarly to the Love and Lust for Life music videos and would be directed by Rich Lee. On July 28, Del Rey revived her defunct Twitter account (@missdaytona), to post a quick four second preview of the official music video. Many fans suspect that the footage was originally intended to be used for a video for "The Next Best American Record," an outtake from Lust for Life that leaked before the album was released (before seeing an official release on Norman f**king Rockwell!), similarly to how the footage intended for the original "Ultraviolence" music video was recycled and used for the "Freak" music video or the footage for "Happiness Is a Butterfly" was used for "Mariners Apartment Complex" and "Venice Bitch". This theory comes from the fact that many of the visuals and themes used in the "White Mustang" video are strongly expressed in the lyrics of "The Next Best American Record". There is even a video that was taken behind the scenes of "White Mustang" where Del Rey is singing a part of "The Next Best American Record," which further supports the theory. The song was released as a single to Italian radio.

#26 Honeymoon 180 pointsHoneymoon is a song by Lana Del Rey, co-written by Rick Nowels. It was uploaded to her YouTube channel on July 14, 2015 and was released for purchase as the second promotional single on September 7, 2015 from her fourth studio album, Honeymoon. Prior to the release, the lyrics to the song were released as part of a lyric book, which was available for purchase among the merchandise for The Endless Summer Tour. Honeymoon received critical acclaim. NME called the track "cinematic" and "emotionally thrilling" before describing it as "perhaps her most heart-stopping ballad yet". The Verge described the song as "six minutes of meandering bliss" and praised the "sweeping strings and stuttering snares" that float through the background of the song. In France the song hit #154 and #84 in Scotland. It peaked at #21 on US alternative digital chart.

"Black Beauty" is another one that really struck me deep. I'm sad to see that one out before at least the Top 20.
That remix of "Summertime Sadness" has absolutely nothing on the original imo and it vastly overstayed.

Carmen is the hardest Lana song for me to listen to. I can't relate to its story at all but it puts me in such a depressive mood that I avoid listening to it as much as possible but when I do I'm also kind of fascinated of how it makes me feel.

Yeah, that is true I have to say why White Mustang is my #1 I saw Lana Del Rey live for the 1st and last time at Lolapalooza in Paris. She performed only 1 day after Lust For Life was released. Of course, everyone knew all her songs to sing, except those on LFL... So, somehow, the fact that no one knew how to sing that song made it really special as you could listen to only her and not 10.000 people around you. I am not sure whether it was the 1st from new album she performed... but with the very 1st 10 seconds of it I got chills... and the next day I was listening to only White Mustang Plus, I just love the lyric: Summer's meant for loving and leaving It means much to me coz I do travel a lot (especially during summer and nice weather months) and I always find boys/lovers on my trips and of course it always comes the time when you have to leave after you 'loved' someone... So there you go My story for my #1 Lana song

Not this well executed career highlight being put below "Don't Call Me Angel" and a bunch of drunken freestyles by her. :sip2:

#21 High By The Beach215 points High by the Beach is a song recorded by Lana Del Rey and the first single from her fourth studio album, Honeymoon (2015), written by Lana Del Rey, Rick Nowels and Kieron Menzies. Preceded by a premature online leak, High by the Beach was released as the lead single from Honeymoon on August 10, 2015. Song debuted at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 a week after its release, spending three weeks on the chart altogether. The song also ranked at number 89 in Triple J's Hottest 100 songs of 2015 in Australia. High by the Beach also became her best-performing single on the chart since West Coast. However, due to an error in calculation by Nielsen, High by the Beach was originally reported to have debuted on the chart at number 7 with 248,000 copies sold. The error was corrected on the issue dated August 29, 2015, and the song was revealed to have debuted and peaked at number 51 on the Hot 100, and number 10 on the Digital Songs chart with 67,000 copies. The song dropped 14 places to number 65 in its second week, and fell to number 97 by its third week. It hit #1 in Sweden's heatseekers chart and #4 in Israel. It peaked at #14 in France, #51 in Australia, #75 in Germany and #60 in UK. #18 Ultraviolence 233 pointsUltraviolence is a song recorded by Lana Del Rey for her third studio album, Ultraviolence (2014). It was co-written by Del Rey, and Daniel Heath, and produced by Dan Auerbach. The song was released on June 4, 2014, by Polydor and Interscope Records, as the third single from Ultraviolence. A music video, shot entirely on an iPhone on the 8mm Vintage Camera app, was released on July 30, 2014 by Noisey (Vice). It was directed by Francesco Carrozzini, and shows Del Rey wearing a white wedding dress with a veil and a bouquet of flowers in her hands, wandering around an outside setting and later entering a church. The video is set at Portofino, in Italy, and the church where Del Rey enters at the end is San Sebastiano Church. Lyrics of the song caused controversy - a writer of Spin said that the lyrics to the song could generate controversy, especially since Del Rey dismissed feminism in a recent interview with The Fader, saying "For me, the issue of feminism is just not an interesting concept. I’m more interested in, you know, SpaceX and Tesla, what’s going to happen with our intergalactic possibilities. Whenever people bring up feminism, I’m like, god. I’m just not really that interested." By the end of 2014, NME named Ultraviolence the 32nd best song of the year. The song peaked at #70 on Billboard Hot 100 and #38 in Canada. In France, the song went as high as #88.taylor - 4 born - 7 BB🌕 - 8 willapted33 - 16 @phillippe - 16 Ty - 20 @greento - 23 YourFaveIsAFlop - 24 Keelzit - 27 spiritboy - 35 samo🦕 - 38 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BONUS - f**k My Way (demo version of f**ked My Way To The Top) p.s. Not sure if all know, but Lana promised that she would never sing lyrics - He hit me and it felt like a kiss - again. But she did. When I saw her live in Paris I noticed she did not sing them 1st time, but later she sang - maybe forgetting about it or carried by the song.

The track was written and produced by Del Rey and Jack Antonoff, whilst the version featured on the single release, as well as in the music video and digital editions of the album, has a different beat arrangement and production by Andrew Watt, and Louis Bell. #14 Blue Jeans 266 pointsBlue Jeans is a song by Lana Del Rey for her studio album Born to Die (2012). It was released on April 8, 2012, by Interscope Records as the third single from the record. Produced by Emile Haynie, the song was written by Del Rey, Haynie, and Dan Heath. It is a downtempo ballad with hip hop influences. Charting across Europe and Asia, Blue Jeans reached the top 10 in Belgium, Poland, and Israel. Three music videos were created for the song. The first was self-produced and the second shows Del Rey stands at a microphone in a bland room, accompanied by an electric guitarist. The third, which is the official one, was shot and directed by Yoann Lemoine, featuring film noir elements and crocodiles. A controversial performance of the song on Saturday Night Live placed Del Rey under scrutiny and polarized opinion, though the song itself received acclaim from critics.
Originally put out as a double A-side with her debut song, Video Games, it was also put as a B-side to the title track and second single, Born to Die. It was later released as the third official single from Born to Die. Official remixes of Blue Jeans include ones by D/R/U/G/S, Blood Orange, Kris Menace, and RAC. The song also hit #16 in France, #32 in UK and #49 in Italy.born - 5 @phillippe - 8 spiritboy - 9 Ty - 12 @greento - 12 YourFaveIsAFlop - 14 BB🌕 - 15 willapted33 - 18 Keelzit - 24 samo🦕 - 31 taylor - 37 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh wow so many MVPs went out in this set. For the ones I’ve had in my top 10: • Ultraviolence: Love at first sight • Young and Beautiful: I actually always overlooked this one until I did Az Paynter’s personal rankdown lol. After that, I’ve had the song on repeat for the entire summer. • The greatest: While not my top favorite, this is probably the best thing she’s done, or close to that. • Blue Jeans: I thought this will always be my favorite from Lana but it seemed to age a bit quicker than other classics. Still love it though.
