Isn't Bruno / Drake largely rumored though? I think at least NME has published an article about it

Get that free promo WAP: CeeLo Green — famous for his not-exactly-Cole-Porter-material song “f**k You” — thinks “WAP” is a bridge too far, calling it “savagery.” He later apologized. yeah he's a real good person to know where the limit is.... pfff

I’ve heard rumors from my friends at Republic that a huge remix of Taylor Swift’s “Cardigan” is coming soon. It will be called the “Labor Day Remix” and feature Gunna, Jason Derulo, and NLE Choppa.

I can see the ‘Fox News/Daily Wire’ articles now.

Haven't been following things as closely this week, but glad to see that WAP is predicted to go #1. I like the fast turnover. Hopefully this will help revive Cardi's career, and glad to see Megan get her second #1 as well, and in such a short timespan! Not sure what you mean by that but you realize Cardi’s career was still in full swing right? She has tv deals and movies in the work. She could’ve put out new music anytime but decided against even releasing collabs to focus on her project. That’s called being smart and focusing on the craft instead of forcing the release of an album just to push something out. She had rumored songs with a number of artists and there were plenty more begging for a feature. She said however that she didn’t want to drop anything prior to the release of her first single. WAP was recorded months ago, unfortunately co-vid impacted the release. It took an entire month Just to film because it took weeks for the custom designs from Mugler to ship. People weren’t even able to start filming again until recently. Still, I’m trying to understand the falloff when she was still active prior to this and trending just about every week for one thing or another: politics, BLM activism, etc. Her coronavirus live went viral and and even charted on ITunes and Apple Music... She got a Grammy first album. I think her attention to detail with the latest one should be understandable then. The success of this song is evidence of the GPs support, let’s be honest. People were waiting on her to release new music and the amount of support she received shows that. Which isn’t surprising considering she was a virtual hit making machine prior to taking a break. People - fans, celebrities alike -, always show her love when she releases new projects. Not that deep bruh, I didn't say her career was dead, just that it definitely isn't as big in the last year and a half or so as it used to be, and I was referring mainly to her music (not other career ventures), and she has in fact released several singles in either lead or featured roles in that timespan, including Press, South of the Border, and Writing on the Wall, all of which have underperformed.

Some songs don't need remixes. At least Levitating will have a actual video.

Underperformed for who? Press, her last solo, peaked at 16 on the chart; Writing on the Wall at 29; South of the Border at 49. Writing on the Wall, FYI, wasn’t even an organic collaboration. Cardi recorded verses for a song she later discarded. French got a hold of it, re-produced it, and basically just asked her if he could keep her verse on it. She gave him permission because they have a relationship. All of the songs you listed charted and are certified either platinum or gold. So again, underperforming for who? She was the most streamed female rapper in 2019, despite only releasing 2 songs of her own with Please Me and Press (and other female artists putting out entire projects). Accumulated the most awards including ASCAP Writer of the Year, was a judge on a critically acclaimed tv show, got her acting chops in a hit movie, and released her own fashion line with Fashionova that sold out within hours, twice...Not to mention the acting roles she scored, brand deal with Pepsi, and partnerships with major fashion houses. (Her Tom Ford lipstick sold out within minutes.) Cardi hasn’t released a project since 2018...Yet was the top streaming female rap artist in 2019 (it wasn’t even close) and 2018. IOP hasn’t left the BillBoard since it’s release. It’s set to break Nicki’s record within the next few weeks. She was also selling out shows, arenas holding 50k+ people left and right. Just saying to get your facts straight. It didn’t matter what record Cardi put out or who was on it for that matter, it would’ve did well regardless because she’s that loved by the GP. (To emphasize, as mentioned, a remix of an IG live went viral and made it to top 5 on ITUNES. If anything, her stature increased last year.

I don’t really understand what you all expected from Levitating. It’s literally called a “remix” so they remixed and changed the production and sounds of it. Is it good as the original? No, but it actually surpassed my expectations from when I found out Madonna and Missy Elliot were gunna be on it. A lot of you complain when a remix is just the same song with a lazy, tacked on verse, but then ask why they changed the production of this one lollll make up your minds

It's crazy to me just how big WAP is, I already expected a large debut anyways but I wasn't expecting it to be this BIG. This song is an event, probably the biggest event single since Old Town Road.
The controversy must've helped it a lot.
