That music video is perfect. She looks stunning and you can just see the happiness emulating from her. Her man is also very easy on the eyes and having him be eye candy in her video is something I certainly won't complain about, lol.

Absolutely fantastic music video. You can clearly tell how happy Miranda is and how much love there is between her and her husband. Just very nice and very sweet all around to go with a great song.

This is up to #54 on iTunes! Was it performed on the CMT Awards or is it just the video boosting it?
I don't want to be hasty in calling this a hit just yet but this is definitely showing the right signs, so fingers crossed!

Yeah, her husband is so hot! lol Anyway, the video is gorgeous as well, and is making me love the song even more â„
And this might be a stupid question, but what is settling up and what is settling down. Settling down is like staying in one place, like, growing roots in some place, right? So, if I am right, what is settling up, then? Thanks if you explain this to me!

Thank you so much!! â„â„â„ I think the way the song is written is intended to make a play on words that while she's "settling down," she's actually "up"-grading because of her current relationship being an improvement on her life. The actual dictionary definition of "settling up" doesn't actually really apply to these song lyrics -- here it's used more as a pun opposite the title phrase to say that while she's settling down, she's in an upward/positive trajectory.

Obviously this is an online forum and I can decide to post this or not but I feel the need to let you all know considering I have spent 15 years here and a good chunk of you are like family....I was yesterday days old when I realized the lyric was "settling up or settling down" as I always thought it was "saddling up or settling down" as in am I gonna saddle up and leave again or settle down once and for all? Carry on. :kii:

Itâs settling up, like paying your bill at a bar/restaurant/hotel to go to the next place, and settling down - staying at home. Sheâs talked in several interviews about the fact that the song is about the two parts of her personality; the wandering road traveler vs the homebody, settling up represents the part of her that is moving and traveling - the wanderlust present in a lot of her work. Settling down, the homebody, dogs and Sunday dinner part.
And hey itâs nice for women to get eye candy in videos sometimes too. The woman wearing clothes while the dude is half naked, is a nice flip.

I know I'm basically a broken record and repeating what everyone has said here but...my god, Brendan is absolutely gorgeous.
The video was beautiful. You can truly see the love between them radiating off the video and it really warms up my heart. I've replayed it several times and I literally smile every time. It gives me hope that I'll eventually find a love like this someday.

I thought her CMA performance was uninspired and pitchy. She's had better subtle performances.

The acoustic-ish production is weird. They should have just kept the original production. Also, I'm happy that Combs won album of the year, but personally, Miranda's Wildcard is the best.

She looked great but the stripped down approach didn't really work for me either on this song. I get that a lot of the performances were a bit on the minimal side given what they were working with during a pandemic, but it would've benefited from a livelier treatment.

This is part of the reason I was against this being the single - she never even sung SD live at her shows. I loved during Wings how she kinda just sang whatever she wanted and we got To Learn Her at the CMAs which was her at her best. I just hate thinking about how much better she would have been with Dark Bars.

That live performance was kinda half cooked. It's the same thing with "Pressure" by Ruston Kelly. It's my favorite song on his album, but when he performs it live, it's like... I feel or think that others listening will be like "that was it?". I suppose some songs are meant to be studio recordings not really meant to be performed live.

I heard this for the first time today, and some parts of it remind me so much of Maren's "80s Mercedes."

Still loving this song. Was an instant favorite when Wildcard came out and always hoped it was a single, so Iâm happy it finally was. Really think this is her best bet to score back to back #1s. Think âTequila Doesâ should be the fourth single to wrap this fantastic era up when the time comes, because it seems like itâs connecting well with the public as it is #69 on the iTunes country chart.

Tequila is having somewhat of a viral moment on tiktok rn. Lots of western fashion influencers are using it in their videos and mirandas team has seemed to pick up on that as well so fingers crossed for #4.

Agreed on "Tequila Does". At that point it won't totally matter how well single #4 does on the charts since this single is definitely hitting #1. It seems to be moving much faster than "Bluebird" did.

It seems to be moving much faster than "Bluebird" did. Eh "Settling Down" is a bit behind the pace of "Bluebird" at 13 weeks on the Billboard airplay chart this is how both are holding up "Bluebird" Position: #29 Audience: 4.956 Spins: 1627 "Settling Down" Position: #33, Audience: 4.136, Spins: 1246 So it's not quiet moving up the same pace as "Bluebird", still moving up well but I don't think it is a 100% lock to hit #1 but I do feel good of the song hitting the Top 5

I donât need them staying with SD for four more months just for it to peak at 7 when Tequila Does is there for the taking waiting to smash. That would be miserable to watch.
