Damn, was hoping that "Heavy Liftin'" could have at least made the top 30! But also thankful it did get this high, cuz it's a style of song that Pulse usually abhors so there's that.
It's a certified jam tho!!! This has always been one of my favorite Blake songs, and that hasn't changed over the years.

"Doin' What She Likes" is actually laughably bad. It has one of the worst lyrics I have actually ever heard, at least for a country song: "She likes it when I bring home fresh fajitas, and mix up a pitcher of margaritas" lmao tragic.
"When Somebody Knows You That Well" is actually quite beautiful and got done dirty here!
"A Guy With A Girl" is so forgettable. I've heard it a lot, and right now can barely hear it in my head.
Just ew @ "Hillbilly Bone" making it higher than some of the songs already revealed. There's nothing appealing about this song to me. It's just so abysmal.
"Every Time I Hear That Song" is fine. I can listen to it, but also wouldn't go out of my way to hear it.... also I COMPLETELY agree that Keith Anderson's song >>>>>>>>>. I adore that song!!

"Every Time I Hear That Song" completely wastes a very strong vocal performance by Blake, with a dreadfully dull melody and blah lyrics. The comparison to Keith Anderson's absolute masterpiece only makes Blake's song look worse.

I love "Every Time I Hear That Song". I also love "Every Time I Hear Your Name". They are similar but I still enjoy them both well enough. I did probably overranked it a little though lol
we do still have the trash that is "Sangria" to take out!

"Don't Make Me" should have been in the top 20 at least. I love this one!

Solid. All of the songs in the last set are terrible except for a couple of them (Came Here to Forget, Don't Make Me, Nobody but You) and those were only in the 'okay' category for me at best. This rankdown has had a few missteps in the reveals, but it's been on point for the most part imo.

Phew, the reveals have been coming along at breakneck speed! I'm going to do my best and catch up with some commentary either tonight or by tomorrow for sure.

#41 “Turnin’ Me on” - Even though I knew that this song wasn’t all too well liked I never quite expected to see it out in the bottom 5, There’s just something about this that I’ve always liked as I quite enjoy the melody and easygoing production of it.
#40 “My Eyes” - I want to like this more than I do…but the repetitiveness of the chorus just gets old and after the second time hearing it I’m ready to hit skip.
#39 “Boys ‘Round Here” - Y’all are some HATERS. This is a guilty pleasure of mine and I looking back I wish I had put this one in my top 15. Although I never go out of my way to listen to this, should it come on the radio I will for sure jam out to it!
#38 “Gonna” - This is such an ear worm and is out way too early. It’s one of those songs that when it comes on the radio I somehow find myself bopping my head along to it.
#37 “All Over Me” - Another song that is out too early. This was a brave choice to release as his second single and it’s one that I’ve always loved. That said, considering it was only a minor top 20 and probably doesn’t receive any airplay these days it actually doesn’t come as a surprise that it leaves in the bottom 10.
#36 “Over” - This has always seemed to be a polarizing song on Pulse and so it doesn’t really come as a shock that it would leave this soon. I probably overshot my ranking by a few spots, but it’s another one that I seem to enjoy more than most.
#35 “Saviors Shadow” - This was an automatic last place for me. When christian country is done right I enjoy it (a la “Three Wooden Crosses” by Randy Travis or even “I Found Jesus On the Jailhouse Floor” by George Strait), but this just doesn’t work for me.
#34 “Heavy Liftin’” - The Dreamer was kind of a mixed bag of an era for me as I really could take or leave everything but “The Baby”. Because of that this was never able to escape my bottom 5.
#33 “Doin’ What She Likes” - Another one of Blake’s easygoing songs that I find to be an earworm whenever I hear it. Nothing overly great about this song otherwise but innocent enough that I ended up putting it into my top 25.
#32 - “When Somebody Knows You That Well” - I really do like this one but I just don’t think it has much replay value. I also never understood why this was a lead single to begin with.
Ok, going to stop there for now lol…I’ll try and catch up with the other reveals tomorrow. It’s been a while since I submitted my list for this so I wanted to make sure to get the chance to go back over some of the songs.

Landing right at the #20 spot is "I'll Name The Dogs". I really, really enjoy this song and some others did as well. A story about this song: A couple years ago I saw Blake in concert and after Blake finished each song these two guys behind me would yell "SING OL' RED" and each time it wasn't that song. Finally Blake starts talking about dogs and how because this is country music there needs to be some songs sung about dogs and these two guys go NUTS thinking they are about to hear "Ol' Red". Instead he plays the first few notes of this one, I look back and the their faces were... ![(zzz)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/asleep.png) ![(zzz)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/asleep.png) .
