Gotta give kudos to BTS team! The release plan and strategy for Dynamite is well thought of, they totally learned from the group's chart history. They really ensured Week #2 won't drop hard like they used to with the MTV VMA performance timed perfectly and releasing new remixes to keep sales at bay. And to their credit, the Spotify performance is also so far very solid and not the usual frontloaded. I guess releasing a song in full English did really wonders.

They have a radio deal and i think that should help with a top 10 debut You see, I addressed this already, but I don't actually see where it has one. It has an adds date today, but that's not a radio deal. Radio deals are usually on release day and that's it (unless you're Yummy) and result in a massive first day, which Ice Cream didn't have. Over Now had a radio deal on Friday, but this doesn't appear to have had one. If it did, it was a terrible one that did nothing. Literally all Selena Gomez songs get a radio deal a month or two after it's release. Her new song is getting impacted on radio today

Literally all Selena Gomez songs get a radio deal a month or two after it's release. False. This has never happened. "Yummy" is the only song to ever have a radio deal past its first day of release/impact. Her new song is getting impacted on radio today Yes, which is what an adds date is. I did say "It has an adds date today" in the said quoted post. But what I also said and will reiterate now is that adds date are not radio deals. A radio deal is a special short-term deal for radio to play a brand new song/single upon release more than they usually would for the exchange of, say, tour tickets, merch, or just added appeal to the station(s). An adds/impact date is the date the label begins their radio campaigns and alerts radio program directors to new material the label wants them to check out for airplay. "Ice Cream" has its adds date today and received 97 adds from pop radio, which is great, but it's still not a radio deal.

Once again, it's amazing how Selena and her team were practically gift-wrapped a potential big era for her, and they've completely squandered her hype in less than a year. It was an open goalpost and all they had to do was kick the ball in and they still whiffed it.

She has a makeup brand that comes out in a couple days, and a cooking show that was renewed for a second season. Rare was a promo album for her makeup brand, and LYTLM/LAHN were basically their own era. I can see them actually trying for the next album though

Her new song is getting impacted on radio today I think you are getting confused 'radio deals' with 'impact dates.' Impact dates are when labels want the radio to add the song to playlists (this is what happens months after Selena's releases for example Rare getting sent to radio 2 months after its release), 'radio deals' are usually first day impact dates where the label wants radio stations to play the song on the first day (usually with heavy rotation) for example: Hello, LWYMMD, ME!, any Maroon 5 song.

That this entire album was all just a background to some makeup? And even then, this wasn't marketed as a promo album or a throwaway album, this was marketed as her next full album with her most personal material to date.

Is this confirmed though? Or is it still an assumption we all made and have agreed to? No, it's confirmed. Either the label sets it up or the station sets it up, but no money is ever exchanged. But items are exchanged - and I guess thatβs what I wonder about. My (newish) understanding is that itβs more of a general relationship between stations and labels and that thereβs no exchange specifically for a single song, but there might be in a general sense, for example, a label adds a station to a list of groups that will receive swag once a month or a few times a year as an βacknowledgementβ for that station being a βsupporterβ of the labelβs artist roster. I think connecting that specifically to one song as a βradio dealβ might be misleading and implies a play-for-swag exchange. But again, this is all hypothetical too as Iβm just filling in the blanks from how I know in other similar areas. Itβs probably just me knitpicking now, but I think the way itβs often presented here gives the implication that the onus is completely on the label/artist setting it up and paying it out when I donβt think thatβs necessarily true.

I guess the Tap In experiment kinda worked? It was more to give it a smaller song the What's Poppin treatment. The remix did what it needed to do.

Don't know why some people are predicting BL to be above LNCL. The gap is still huge and the VMAs didn't have much impact

BTSβ Dynamite on Apple Music is such a mess. Iβm not sure if it was how their company uploaded the single, Extended edition and deluxe edition but in the last day, the original song as well as first round of remixes, including the song were removed from the platform which meant that not a single playlist worked for an entire day that has those songs.
Whatβs left is the Deluxe edition and they barely started placing the song on playlists again.
Thatβs why itβs no longer on Apple Music USA.
The same thing happened on Spotify but the platform fixed the issues immediately.
