Midnight Sky had good callout scores but radio still paid it dust. I just donβt understand why radio hates to play Miley when the audience still wants to hear her.

well i don't understand why radio is ageist when young people don't listen to the radio, and those who do are old! Riddle me that! It seems like a misguided attempt to chase the under 25 demographic with syndacated national playlists and chasing streaming and TikTok artists, but I would hazard a guess, as you say, most people consuming music on the radio are adults commuting to and from work or playing it at the workplace at this point. Hence why audience impressions and play counts at Hot AC/AC/Urban AC have remained stable over the last 20 years while Top 40 and Rhythmic have gotten really lopsided. Urban is just ?????. Maybe Rap and R&B need to undo the radio combine of the 00s and separate again. |

So itβs a huge assumption (and mistake) thinking the entire older demographic wants to hear only younger artists. I certainly donβt. |

It was mostly young people under 25 dancing along to the song. They didn't care she was over 40. Radio cares, most people don't care about age. |
