I actually love some of his tracks (Sweetener and succesful are bops) But it’s undeniable that she made magic with Max & Ilya on that album I totally agree with you. But would swap Succesful with Blazed 😝Such a cool song.

I'm kind of worried about "positions" being the only bop on the album by most reviews I've read so far, because I didn't even love that one much tbh. I'll wait until Friday and try to keep an open mind.
She's kind of stuck on a cycle were she seems incapable of two great albums on a row. With thank u, next being pretty good I guess I should have seen this coming.

I'm not trying to get into the sweetener sucks ass argument again lol. I will always defend the good stuff on that album, because the three singles and "everytime" are all better than anything on thank u, next with ease.
Like I said I'm gonna keep an open mind for Friday.

No worries, this is fantastic and I usually listen to mostly purely pop things I don't want to spoil too much but this album is still very Ariana Grande, her vocals slay and strangely my favorite is the Ty Dolla Sign collab

I'll wait until Friday, but I already know it won't be TUN or DW...and I'm kinda fine with that. She gave us so many bops in the past 2,5 years (INCLUDING POSITIONS), and I really respect when artists are in a position to sing what they love or feel they need to.

Well, on first listen. The album is not actually for me. I love the harmonies and Ariana's vocals throughout the album though. And she seems to be very happy with this style of music. And it's important that the artist enjoys what she does.
However I found songs that I like from Positions album. 34+35, Off The Table, Safety Net, Positions, Obvious, POV.
Couldn't choose my position about My Hair and West Side at the moment. Will give another listen to the whole album again on Friday and then I can decide I guess😃
Favourite from the album is Positions. Really love the song. Loved on the first listen and has continued to grow since then. Wouldn't be surprised if this replaced No Tears Left To Cry as my favourite lead single from Ari.

I’m gonna wait for a different limited version of the album they’re gonna put out while they’re trying to boost sales during release week. I’m hoping there are signed copies to come

The album is cute honestly but it feels like a mixtape, not sure this is deserving to be a full era and next step in her progression as an artist. I feel like it's a step back from TUN. I think she should have waited and came back with something stronger in the summer of 2021

This album feels like Yours Truly meets Sweetener. I'm shocked at how solid of an album this is. My only issue was in the middle of the album there was a bit of filler and I think one or two pop bops would've made the album a bit more complete. Still a decent album for me though!

The album is fine, but it's definitely one of her weaker ones. The first half is very generic to me and some of the lyrics are bad. However, I would say from "safety net" on down, they got into some really interesting sounds that probably represent the album they were initially trying to make.
My favorites are "safety net," "my hair," "west side" and "love language."

So... I heard the album and I'm not very impressed. But R&B fans will probably love it.

I'm glad Ariana releases frequently because if an artist takes ages to release new music/albums with songs that short I would be extremely annoyed. Luckily with Ariana we get a new album every year so I'll let it slide.

I’ve heard most of the tracks and I think it’s one of those albums that will click after some time spent w it. It’s kind of how it was for me w Solange’s Seat at the Table and SZA’s last album. Although I don’t hear any obvious smash hits, the album flows together really nicely. The sonic palette is probably her most adult yet and it feels like this is the album she has been wanting to make for awhile. Is this TYN, no. But it’s a solid winter album that feels 100 percent Ariana. It is a rather strange off-kilter release schedule though. Feels very uneventful.

2:12?! Ugh. I know it's streaming but Jesus Christ. I'm guessing it's an ode to NYC/Manhattan area code, or perhaps just a coincidence.

Quarantine peen had her feeling inspired! It's a cute and mellow, low key vulgar album. I continue to stan.

Man, the strings on this album are to die for. I love how they really carry the entire album. This is definitely her most cohesive, explicit and adult body of work. “Obvious” is doing something strange to my soul...it may be in my top three AG songs of all time. On a side note, does anyone else who has listened think her voice sounds a little tired and rough? I think it’s definitely aged slightly but she may just need some complete vocal rest. It’s the first time I hear her vocals take on this tone...it’s a bit reminiscent of Brandy at times? It’s not bad at all, you can just tell it’s started to age a bit.

I haven't heard the leaks yet but from what I hear, this is gonna more R&B than pop which is fine. Her Debut Yours Truly was mostly R&B and was great. Also waiting until Friday to hear this album. Sweetener and Thank U Next were both great albums.
