A week late, but "Franchise" did absolutely horrible outside America. Canada: #16 Australia: #31 UK: #26 New Zealand: #37 These are the other English markets I've never seen a Hot 100 #1 peak so low in Canada before. Even #1's like Panda, Bad & Boujee, and Bodak Yellow which have very little Pop appeal and the artists had practically zero success prior in Canada still managed to peak #4/#5/#6.

I haven't seen people mention this, so I'm gonna mention it.
Jawsh 685 is the third New Zealander to top the chart, with the other two being Kimbra as a feature on Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" in 2012 and Lorde with "Royals" and 2013. It's also worth mentioning that two of these three artists are/were teenagers when they went #1.

weeks in top 2, based on acharts The Box: 13 Rockstar: 11 Blinding Lights: 8 Life is Good: 8 Dynamite: 7 Wap: 7 Circles: 7 Savage: 6 Someone You Loved: 6
I can see Dynamite being just behind Rockstar. Interesting how it's tied with Wap rn when the GP has heard about Wap 10x more on social/traditional media.

it's either a random remix or a 1-24-99-OUT song topping the charts

Maybe not 10x, I mean itβs predominately featured in several ads and Iβve managed to hear it in public with what little time I have out there, maybe closer to 3x or even 2x honestly

Also, while Jason Derulo did help make the song a worldwide hit, the original "Laxed (Siren Beat)" instrumental was already a viral TikTok hit before Derulo came in and add vocals to it.

So Jawsh 685 is the second person born in the 2000s to top billboard hot 100 after Billie Eilish, if 24kGoldn get number one with "Mood" he will be the third. Get away oldies and millenials ! Gen Z is coming !

Jawsh 685 was 6 YEARS OLD the last time Jason Derulo had a number one song. I feel super old right now.

1. Savage Love Streams: 16M Radio: 71M Sales: 76k
2. Dynamite Streams: 13M Radio: 27M Sales: 94k
3. WAP Streams: 28M Radio: ~53M Sales: ?
This is ridiculous. Why is Billboard still living in 2010?

WAP is the #1 song in the country and has been for the past 9 weeks and I donβt accept any other opinion.

Jawsh 685 deserves more credit than Derulo for Savage Love. Derulo literally ripped the viral instrumental from him without asking first, and then was only able to find such a catchy vocal line by directly emulating the catchy instrumental melody.

Kinda surprising debut for Shawn. How did random droplets "If I Can't Have You" and "Senorita" debut #2, but his official album lead debuts #18?
I'm sure radio will push it hard though.

I think thatβs a mix of poor timing with the albums kind of killing all the major singles this week and the fact that itβs just not his usual sound. Also what the gel is that Why Donβt We song doing here, these stans need to calm the hell down

I guess "Dreams" didn't re-enter this week? Or maybe chartdata doesn't have that info yet. Either way it should definitely be back next week.

Let me check..... Oh yes jawsh 685 is nowhere to be found and Jason Derulo has another worldwide hit on his discography

Based on these numbers, Savage Love deserved to be #1 and WAP deserved to be #2 this week. WAP's strong advantage in streams and radio should have been good enough for #2. However, Savage Love's advantage in radio and sales over WAP makes it a deserving #1 song this week.

How did Fallin debut so high? They have a series of (now) sold out autographed CD singles on their website, so I'm guessing maybe that had something to do with it? Just a guess, don't follow them.

In case you really didn't know: the real vocalists are all listed on Milli Vanilli's wiki page.

Oh, and I also wanna ask this because I'm not sure about this and I don't want to go through every #1 hit to find out: Is Jawsh 685 the first artist of Polynesian descent to top the Hot 100? I feel like there could be a few, but right now, I can't think of another artist of Polynesian descent with a #1 hit. The only artists I could find right now are ones born in Hawaii but doesn't seem to be of Polynesian descent themselves like Bruno Mars, Bette Midler, and Yvonne Elliman.
