i wish there was a Tik tok chart though not part of the Hot 100.it would be more to figure out what songs are gaining because of it. Look up Viral Hits on Spotify. Itβs a pretty good indicator.

Sooo... is βDreamsβ an absolute lock to re-enter the Hot 100 on 10/17/2020? And if so, is it possible/likable to move into the top 10 on the 10/24/2020 Hot 100?

It is 2020...why not? What if Fleetwood Mac drops a βDreamsβ remix in a bid for another stint at number 1?
Post Malone is a big Fleetwood fan and heβs dabbled in similar genres (heβs definitely influenced by them, too). Heβd be down for a remix, or maybe a new song, even.

Fleetwood Mac is one of Post's biggest influences.... Circles is obviously heavily inspired by them and he has a track from his debut mixtape called Hollywood Dreams which is a remix of Dreams

His singing voice is just like that. Also I've seen his Nirvana set earlier this year, dude is really good live when he tries. Circles sounds like a Fleetwood Mac cut anyways, he's the perfect fit for a remix.

Post could pull off Dreams with no effort. He's not one-dimensional; he can easily adapt (as long as he's not too drunk or drugged outta of his mind).

This is a response to the post above me. I know that neither Headie One nor Zara Larsson will chart (Headie One has more of a chance to chart).

Crazy that Zara Larsson is still getting some airplay chart placements in the US. According to Wikipedia, Wow has charted only in Sweden and New Zealand.

Dreams is #10 in New Zealand this week wow I like Tik Tok for bringing diversity and new songs and artist to the board however the cultural aspect of it is what bothers me, it shows people being fake perfect and "ideal" which is the wrong attitude especially for children Also imagining how many 11-13 year olds participated in the WAP challange sends shivers down my spine As someone who's doing a paper on gender and sex in music and another paper on media's portrayal of a perfect image, I understand there's a real, justifiable concern that music can have an impact on the way youth views sex and your body image. But I have to ask: should we blame Cardi and Megan for making art or should we blame the society that made them popular in the first place? Like obviously seeing children dance or sing WAP is weird and you an argue gross, but our culture and society also plays a part in making these mediums popular and ubiquitous. The idea of big butts and big chests being the most desirable dates back decades, beauty and swimsuit contests are still extremely popular. It's a hard question to answer, and I think there are credible arguments for both sides: that Cardi and Megan should be allowed to make raunchy art, regardless if it sends a false impression of women, but also that we as a society should be teaching kids that these media images of body perfection do not reflect reality and that they should not be hooked up on it. I think you're on to a lot of good points here, but let me chime in with my view a little: - Cardi and Megan's body types were not always the standard. In fact, a lot of people still would argue that they aren't the "ideal;" it is still very rare that you will see bodies like theirs portrayed in culture outside of contexts where they're sexualized. So for two Black women to wear whatever the hell they want and talk about sex as ubiquitously as men (of all races) have been doing for decades should not be controversial, imo. - I think it is also pretty weird that the male gaze has put us in a place where we feel the need to control what songs our kids dance to. Why is it bad that children are dancing to the most popular song in the world? Kids have always done this, whether it's "Shape of You" or "Sexy and I Know It" or "Thrift Shop". Why does it become problematic when it's from a female perspective? - The two problems in society: patriarchy and body image trends. (it's almost like they're related or something, hmm.) Unfortunately, they won't go away anytime soon, but I think a lot of progress is being made, and artists like Madonna, Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion, among others, have really helped flip the script when it comes to how women were expected to behave and be portrayed.

Thereβs nothing ok with children dancing and singing to WAP. If you think thatβs ok I feel sad for you. And parents that let their children should be punched. Life is hard enough children donβt need to be exposed to that any earlier than necessary. Once you have kids your perspective will completely change. Kids are innocent and we should protect that as much as we can.

Of course thereβs gonna be societial issues when the song is named βWAPβ. Itβs also much more explicit than some popular songs. Also, encouraging children to dance to a song that talks about pussy, cum, and explicit sex is obviously gonna cause issues between the general public. why? "WAP" isn't an explicit name in and of itself, and the song has 2 clean versions to choose from. It's not the first song to be explicit or talk ubiquitously about sex, either. This society has even let slide men talking about DRUGGING women to have sex in their songs. a song like "Blurred Lines" broke airplay records. There's a clear double standard. Thereβs nothing ok with children dancing and singing to WAP. If you think thatβs ok I feel sad for you. And parents that let their children should be punched. Life is hard enough children donβt need to be exposed to that any earlier than necessary. Once you have kids your perspective will completely change. Kids are innocent and we should protect that as much as we can. the more you oppress sexuality in your kids, the worse decisions they are going to make down the line. obviously I'm not talking about children who CANNOT legally consent, but pretending that teens are "innocent and parents should be punched if they let them listen to explicit music" is a useless rhetoric. I'm talking kids that are 13 and over, who are allowed to sign up for TikTok, who should (and sometimes do) receive sex ed, and begin their journey to discover their sexualities/gender identities. Obviously a 6 year-old dancing to a suggestive song like "WAP" would be weird. no one's arguing that. I also haven't come across any videos of the sort. what I mean by "patriarchy" being the reason for this is that I'm guessing when a minor does post a video with "WAP" in it, it is going to have adult men viewing and sexualizing them. in a perfect world, I don't think there would be any problem with teens dancing to whatever song they wanted to, but putting content online is a different thing.
