I have seen you and others do these kind of sneak peeks with RDs and thought I'd join the club! I like the format of it myself and am glad to see you incorporating that into the reveals!

^^You guys are gonna be disappointed by my list. :sip2: King Isaiah will not be coming up anytime soon.
Not surprised about IBHFC. I always forget about that song and honestly it's not that great.

"Little Drummer Boy" better not be bottom 5. I think that performance is adorable and its understandable with the autotune. This is one of the rare instances where it works fine for me. There is something about that performance that makes me think of Christmas.

"Little Drummer Boy" or bust!!!!! You will all bow to King Isaiah! He made "Little Drummer Boy" the FIRST song from My Gift to get to 1 million views of its audio video on YouTube. More vocal talent and name recognition at 5 years old then some adult people dream of! Stay pressed!
Anyways, the song to leave next is "Away In A Manger." I absolutely adore this song in Carrie's hands and was sad to see not only that I was the sole Top 5, but also so many low rankings. The emotion Carrie wrung out during the final verse of the song was beautiful, and the line Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care/And take us to Heaven to live with Thee there just makes me think of the over 300,000 people who have died in this country alone, from a pandemic that our administration knew was deadly but chose to downplay as "like a flu." It makes me think of all of those parents who have lost their children, or the children who have lost their parents, and won't get to celebrate with those loved ones anymore. It honestly makes the specific line Take us to Heaven hit even harder...because not even all of them were taken to Heaven. I was a wreck upon first listen of this song on release day.

I figured this would probably start a bit rough for me, won't be surprised if it continues like that haha
Fwiw, I struggled a bit to decide on some rankings because I enjoyed all of these a good amount. Carrie definitely rocks Christmas music!!

There’s just so many different versions of “Away In a Manger” out there that I’m not sure Carrie really brought anything special to hers. I doubt this is likely going to be a song I revisit much from her recent Christmas album, so it seems appropriate that it would leave in the bottom 2.

Hmm...going to guess “What Child Is This” although it doesn’t deserve a bottom 3 showing.

Not even Carrie could make me love “Away in a Manger.” Easily one of my least favorite holiday tunes.

This, this is Christ the king Whom shepherds guard and angels sing Haste, haste to bring him laud The babe, the son of Mary.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh Come peasant king to own him The king of kings, salvation brings

Even LBTrocks liked “What Child Is This”! Disappointed that this landed in the bottom 3.

Hmm...going to guess “What Child Is This” although it doesn’t deserve a bottom 3 showing. Unfortunately you're correct. "What Child Is This?" leaves at #17, rounding out our bottom 3. This song just never was able to gain any traction during the submission process. It never cracked the Top 15, spent a few lists early on at #19, and flipped back and forth between #18 and #17, eventually setting for #17. I will say I certainly underranked this one; this is one of those instances where there is just so much incredible music on the list, and I sadly couldn't find room in my Top 15 for this. Make no mistake though, I enjoy this song immensely and revisit it every year! Carrie's vocals here are beautiful, and the production is ethereal and haunting. I'd wager that this would've made for a great moment on the My Gift tracklist. My apologies to LBTrocks, who is the first to lose their #1! On the flip side, 14887fan loses his last place.

There are literally three other country rankdowns currently revealing lol, and I have my reveal schedule strategically planned out in advance, so I'm going to go ahead and stop here for the night. Come back tomorrow night as I reveal #16-#14!
Recap:
17. What Child Is This? (271) 18. Away In A Manger (274) 19. I'll Be Home For Christmas (Elvis Presley ft. Carrie) (304)
Songs Remaining:
Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee O Come All Ye Faithful Let There Be Peace Little Drummer Boy (ft. Isaiah Fisher) Sweet Baby Jesus Hallelujah (with John Legend) O Holy Night (2020 version) O Holy Night (2008 version) Mary, Did You Know? Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas Silent Night The First Noel Hark! The Herald Angels Sing Do You Hear What I Hear? All Is Well (with Michael W. Smith) Favorite Time of Year

Hallelujah, “All Is Well” survives the bottom 3! One thing I like about doing these Christmas rankdowns is that I get to create playlists for myself that I get to revisit going forward and I found myself coming back to this one earlier today for about the third time. I’ll say that I’m starting to enjoy more of these songs than I did originally. Anyways, I’m looking forward to seeing how this all plays out because I know we all have different taste in Christmas music.

I love Carrie's version of "What Child Is This" so I am very sad to see it out here. Can "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" leave soon, same with "All Is Well" don't like either

"Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee" and "All Is Well" are my bottom 2, I disliked both a lot so I'm definitely rooting against them. I'll add that I hope that "Sweet Baby Jesus" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" leave soon as well.

I suppose we could be equally flops in the opposite direction too, lmao 😂 Nothing will surprise me.

I’ll give you “Sweet Baby Jesus” although after revisiting it earlier today I ended up liking it a bit more. And what is your hatred for the song “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”?!

Personally, I’ve just always liked the song as the simple message of the lyrics rings a bell with me so to speak. I kinda wish George had covered it as the closest I’ll probably get to that is Randall King.

The song just bores me to tears from anyone other than Martina. She just sells the song so well for me that I just find myself enjoying every other version I hear of the song less and less
