It does seem pretty insane that a song that would be dodging superrecurrency for the entire year could contend for #1, or even come close.

Potential Repeats from the 2020 Year-End List - Week 12 (February 6, 2021)
Locked Mood All I Want For Christmas Is You Laugh Now Cry Later I Hope Go Crazy Blinding Lights For The Night **LOCKED THIS WEEK**
Very Likely Dynamite
Possible ROCKSTAR
Unlikely Before You Go WHATS POPPIN
Very Unlikely More Than My Hometown Savage Love
OUT: WAP **will not repeat**
DISCUSSION: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! The late king of New York drill Pop Smoke's "For the Night" featuring Lil Baby and Medium Sized Baby has managed to secure its spot as a repeat on the 2021 YE list! The picture is starting to become a lot clearer as to which songs will and won't repeat now, as "Dynamite" managed to hang on for another week, which should give it just enough points to repeat, though I'm not considering it a lock just yet as it's still not 100% clear cut. "WAP", aka "Wet Ass P-Word", has fallen off the charts and will not repeat, "Savage Love" somehow survived for no discernible reason despite being outside the top 50 but will almost certainly be gone next week, and "More Than My Hometown"? Well...let's just say that a certain controversy that occurred a few days ago pretty much shot its chances of repeating down to near-zero. At this point the only real tossup left is "ROCKSTAR", which is now hanging in the low 40s while still needing a few more weeks to make the cutoff. While its chances look pretty questionable right now, they're definitely still there, save for a surprise album bomb kicking it off within the next couple of weeks.

Yeah I'm also disappointed it didn't really make its move tho. Its struggling rn and I thought it would be a number one hit. C'mon radio you can take this any time. My local Latin station literally plays every other Latin song, mood, toosie slide, and Lifestyle by m5, but they won't even touch dakiti. Its ridiculous. Does nobody know why radio is doing to this to as big of a song as dakiti. I mean this masterpiece already has over 500m views on yt. Its ridiculous. Really? I hear Dakiti quite often on radio and it's currently 32 on Kworb so it's getting its spins.Β I heard dakiti for the first time on the radio yesterday. I was so happy. Utah has the worst radio stations I tell ya.

The chart date reads Feb 13, 2021, but is it too soon to declare the #1 song of 2021 will be driver's license and #2 will be Mood?
I don't think so.
Here's where things stand so far:
The 21 titles in bold already have enough points to guarantee a year-end top 100 placing. To be honest, it's possible 1500 points may actually be sufficient.

If Blinding Lights goes #1 next week I'm really thinking our Top 3 will be Drivers License, Mood and Blinding Lights

If Blinding Lights goes #1 next week I'm really thinking our Top 3 will be Drivers License, Mood and Blinding Lights The only caveat on that is Blinding Lights is already over 52 weeks on the chart, so will drop off completely if it falls below #25 on the weekly chart. I think that will severely limit its remaining lifespan.

But number 2 could be an interesting conversation. Idk at this point. What do y'all think.

I think Mood is the most probable choice for the YE #2 right now, but there are also a lot of dark horse candidates. Save Your Tears, Up, and 34+35 are all in the running depending on their longevity. Or it could be something else entirely, even for the YE #1 over DL. Keep in mind that at this point in 2019, Old Town Road hadn't yet debuted on the charts.

Be in the 40s and then the next year be in the lower half of the top 10. Up, idk with that one. 34+35 and syt r both good contenders I think. Maybe levitating but I doubt it.

Another update on the year end predictions
Added
ROCKSTAR- It could likely stick around to make it.
My Head & My Heart- Radio is picking up on it very fast.
Up- The streaming and sales are good enough for it to make a possible number 1 debut.
Monsters- It has a good chance if its radio continues to gain.
Hole in the Bottle- Morgan Wallen getting dropped on radio opened the door for this to make it.
Beers and Sunshine- Radio is also picking this up.
Streets- The streaming is great and radio is getting on board.
Removed
All of Morgan Wallen's hits- It's going recurrent soon now that radio has dropped Morgan Wallen completely and you can add all his other hits.
Prisoner- Not even Dua Lipa can give Miley a radio hit.
Monster- Radio surprisingly isn't playing this either.
pov- I doubt this will be pushed as a single, it won't be in the near future that's for sure.
I Should Probably Go to Bed- This literally dropped the week I said it would make it.
Hawai- It's off the charts.
Diamonds- It peaked on radio and will be gone soon.

Hole in the Bottle- Morgan Wallen getting dropped on radio opened the door for this to make it. Beers and Sunshine- Radio is also picking this up. I don't expect either of these to make the YE given how quickly country rotates through songs. In the former case, it's already approaching 20 weeks with this coming week being its peak. Starting Over and Good Time have much better chances of making it, as well as Forever After All (which from what I can tell is officially Luke Combs' next radio single, unsurprisingly).

Potential Repeats from the 2020 Year-End List - Week 13 (February 13, 2021)
Locked Mood All I Want For Christmas Is You Laugh Now Cry Later I Hope Go Crazy Blinding Lights For The Night Dynamite **LOCKED THIS WEEK**
Possible ROCKSTAR
Very Unlikely Before You Go More Than My Hometown WHATS POPPIN
OUT: Savage Love **will not repeat**
DISCUSSION: After hanging on a week longer than it should've, "Savage Love" has finally departed from the charts and will, thankfully, not end up being one of the repeats from 2020. What will, however, be repeating is "Dynamite", which has managed to hang on between 45-50 for the third week in a row now which will give it just enough of the points that it needs to repeat. With "Before You Go" and "WHATS POPPIN" about to be forced off the charts due to the 52/25 rule, and "More Than My Hometown" being forced off shortly due to, well, reasons, "ROCKSTAR" remains the sole tossup left. Now at #44, it's getting dangerously close to being kicked off the Hot 100, and it still need a few more weeks to make it to the cutoff, so its odds aren't looking all that great. However, its decline has been very slow and steady, so save for a major album bomb within the next month or so, the song still has some chances.
