Telepatia is slowing creeping up on radio. How do we feel about its year end chances?

Here's a scary thought. We're almost half-way through Billboard calendar year 2021. What's in the year-end estimated top 50 this week will probably make the year-end.

Telepatia is slowing creeping up on radio. How do we feel about its year end chances? I could see it possibly having a run similar to Doja's Streets if its streaming presence survives It seems stable thus far being #14 on Spotify, #50 on YouTube, and #48 on YouTube I sure hope I am right since Kali Uchis is overdue for this amount of recognition.

I think The Weeknd has a big chance at landing two songs in the Top 10, Blinding Lights has already secured the Top 10 and Save Your Tears longevity (plus Ariana remix coming) means it'll probably stick around long enough to get a placement as well.

Who else has done this in the last 10 years? I feel like there must be someone but I just can't remember who.

With the exception of 2012, every year since 2004 has had at least one artist with two or more entries in the YE top 10. 2004: Usher, OutKast 2005: Kelly Clarkson 2006: Timbaland 2007: Akon, Fergie 2008: Chris Brown 2009: The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga 2010: Taio Cruz 2011: Katy Perry 2012: (none) 2013: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis 2014: Iggy Azalea 2015: The Weeknd 2016: Justin Bieber, The Chainsmokers, Drake 2017: The Chainsmokers 2018: Drake, Post Malone, Cardi B 2019: Post Malone 2020: Roddy Ricch

^You forgot Drake for 2016 and I don't think Kesha had two top 10 songs in 2010.

I'm surprised Rihanna didn't get it in 2010. She totally owned that year, and I would have thought Rude Boy and LTWYL were easily Year End Top 10 for sure.
What's My Name and OGITW's runs were split between 2010 and 2011, so I see why those may have missed the Year End Top 10.

Oh, the Chainsmokers. What an iconically huge smash Closer was. One of my favorite hits of the decade.
Don't Let Me Down can rot tho.

IMO, for as bad as the Chainsmokers' larger reputation is, I think all 5 of their YE hits from 2016-17 are at least pretty good, and most of their worst songs like Who Do You Love, Call You Mine, and the vast majority of Memories...Do Not Open weren't close to making any YE. However, I'm glad they're not really a thing in the public consciousness anymore and have been on hiatus from making new music for over a year now.

But the last drop after daya screams out sounds beautiful with the trumpet, snare pattern, and synths

What are the odds that the YE #1 finishes with less than 1m points? It would be the first time in the streaming era where that happened

But yeah, the bridge and final chorus are absolutely incredible, I won’t deny that. Also, Closer is very much flawed but still pretty good in my books.

I think it's a decade defining masterpiece. No exaggeration.

I say SYT will finish as YE #1 I doubt it. If Roberta Flack couldn’t do it with KMS in 1973 or Ed Sheeran with Perfect in 2018 (and those were all time songs), I don’t see Abel doing the Year End double with SYT. I think if any song is going to breakthrough the Top 3, it’s LTDO. It’s very stable, and bound to go #1 again, perhaps for several weeks.

I really like Mood, but it would be an underwhelming year end #1 imo. I'm still rooting for Drivers License tbh. If LTDO has the stability then I'm all for it as well

If LTDO has the stability then I'm all for it as well Mood will most likely be the Circles, while drivers license is The Box. I don’t think we have seen our #1 YE yet, unless its going to be something like SYT or LTDO, or something completely off like OTR was.

Once Mood goes recurrent in August, do we expect Drivers License to still be around?
