For saying itβs legitimate? The chart rules are annoying! Even as a BTS fan, I hate it and Billboard needs to look into reforming their chart to represent what people are actually listening to but to sit here and act like fans are cheating when these things are allowed is not correct or fair to fans who are going about this the way the chart allows. The fandom has strong sales power due to lack of radio play and how much they suck at streaming. As of now, whatever is happening with the sales is legitimate on the chart. Itβs annoying. I get it!!!! But it is not cheating. Iβm sorry youβre pissed and angry and want to be a total a**hole on here about this, I truly am but the chart is the way it is now and the only thing we can do is wait and hope for Billboard to change it. Please explain this to me, i have asked many BTS fans.
Does this mean :
they suck at streaming == THEY AREN'T LEAVING THE SONG ON REPEAT 24/7
Let me try to make a comparison that might help explain and make sense. If you like to roller skate and you bought your own pair of skates would you go to a rink and rent a pair or use the ones you bought? It's sort of the same thing. Look at Apple Music numbers for BTS. They suck. Know why? Because BTS fans BUY the songs and even if they do try to stream since they already bought the song it doesn't even count towards streams because it's in their iTunes library. Spotify has annoying ads. Even though the norm is the US is not to buy music, BTS fans are actually the opposite. We buy the music, usually in both physical and digital versions.

1. Three entries (2 new, 1 returning) breaking into the top 10. 2. TIAβs streaming and sales struggled all week, and radio is slow to catch up. It will likely return to the top 10 post-Christmas. TIA will only get back to the Top 10 on album release week. I don't see it having much longevity, a la Heartless/LYTLM.

@sosalty Well, pop music also fares much worse on AM, a hip-hop/rap & R&B dominated platform. It seems Ariana Grande & The Weeknd (and to an extent Billie Eilish) are the only pop artists that have found sustained success on the platform.

I am honestly so disgusted right now. I hate men so much in general right now but this puts it over the top, imagine having BTS, Shawn, and Justin debuting high with HORRIBLE songs. This is honestly the maddest I think I've ever been in terms of the charts. The fraudulent BTS fanbase is literally insane, like get a hobby, the GP is not touching your horrible autotuned messes. And don't think I'm forgetting the boring ass mess Shawn and Justin gave us, a tired ballad that's been done before with NO sex appeal at all. Eff the Billboard charts! I am interrupting this self professed man hating rant to say: Life Goes On is actually a great song of substance with very meaningful lyrics about how COVID has impacted everyone. We now return to your regularly scheduled program of the deep and perplexing lyrics of "Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody"

Macarena Despacito Life Goes On The Soundscan era trinity. Why is the title in English then, I'd rather prefer Sukiyaki.

Lol, the billboard charts have been dead and lost its credibility long time go yet you guys seem to care so much every week and act like your faves are immune to the trickery and deceit. Ariana, Justin, Gomez never had a #1 before streaming. Letβs be honest, streaming with its farms and frauds ruined any credibility Billboard had. I will not be clapping for BTS. They are more manufactured than Britney, *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys has ever been. Music is so disgusting now. I wasn't going to talk here at all, because Army are already annoying for no reason. But you all keep saying they are manufactured and that is so far from the true I don't know where to start. Two of them were underground rappers who start to write lyrics when they were 11 and produce their music when they were 16-17. In one of their song "Hip hop phile" they rap about all the rappers that they were inspired by, like Nas, Kanye, Mac Miller, Kendrick, Eminem, Gang Starr, Black Star, Eric B, Rakim and Pete Rock. They have more than 100 songwriting credits each. The three rappers have their own self produced mixtapes. Their leader wrote 90% of BTS lyrics. You all have no idea what you are saying. Dynamite is the only song not made by them. You all should check this

Lol, the billboard charts have been dead and lost its credibility long time go Lost its credibility with whom? The fact that labels still pull out all of the stops for #1 shows they still value the Hot 100. The media still covers #1s and such on Billboard charts as well.

But US Army are not great streamers. I attribute some of that to the fact that a large amount of BTS fans are actually over 30.

I hope we can all agree that I Hope doesn't deserve to stay in the top ten. Low streaming and extremely high radio numbers is unacceptable for spending this long in the top ten.

Those physical sales for "Life Goes On" didn't come anywhere near the sales of the digital track. How 'bout it.

It means Holiday Digital Song Sales, RE "Rockin'..." www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/9491424/mariah-carey-all-i-want-for-christmas-is-you-tops-returning-holiday-100-chart/Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' Tops Holiday 100, As Chart Returns for the SeasonBy Billboard Staff 11/30/2020 The Holiday 100 returns to Billboard's charts menu, ranking the top seasonal songs of all eras via the same formula used for the Billboard Hot 100, blending streaming, airplay and sales data. Claiming its familiar perch atop the Holiday 100, Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" rules the ranking for a 41st week of the chart's 46 total weeks since the list launched in 2011; it has topped the tally for 26 consecutive weeks, dating to the start of the 2015-16 holiday season. The only other Holiday 100 No. 1s to date: Justin Bieber's "Mistletoe," for a week in the 2011-12 holiday season; Pentatonix's "Little Drummer Boy" (one, 2013-14) and "Mary, Did You Know?" (two, 2014-15); and Ariana Grande's "Santa Tell Me" (one, 2014-15). Carey's 1994 carol crowns two of the three Holiday 100 component charts (with all tallies dated Dec. 5): Holiday Airplay (21.5 million audience impressions, up 37%, in the tracking week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data) and Holiday Streaming Songs (17.6 million U.S. streams, up 51%). On Holiday Digital Song Sales, it ranks at No. 4 (4,000 sold, up 26%). Rounding out the Holiday 100's top five is a quartet of multi-generational favorites: Brenda Lee's "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," at No. 2, as it tops Digital Song Sales for the first time (7,000 sold); Bobby Helms' "Jingle Bell Rock" (No. 3); Andy Williams' "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" (No. 4); and Wham!'s "Last Christmas" (No. 5). Meanwhile, six songs, all released this holiday season, are new to the Holiday 100, led by Bieber's version of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" at No. 42. Kelly Clarkson and Brett Eldredge's "Under the Mistletoe" follows at No. 45, while Carrie Underwood debuts three titles from her holiday LP, My Gift, which scores a sixth week at No. 1 on Top Holiday Albums (up 63% to 35,000 equivalent album units): "Favorite Time of Year" (No. 55; available only on the Amazon Music version of the album); "Hallelujah," with John Legend (No. 56); and "Silent Night" (No. 72). Plus, Dan + Shay enter at No. 95 with "Take Me Home for Christmas."

Dynamite is the only song not made by them. You all should check thisΒ !!! Like the original purpose of BTS was to create a hip hop/ rap group based around RM but the plans changed when the company started recruiting more vocalists. To this day, RM and Yoongi (Suga) still get crapped on by the rap community in Korea for leaving rap to join a KPop Idol group but their image has always been to stray as far possible from the manufactured image. Yes they all had to learn how to dance. Yes the KPop industry is highly manufactured. Them and their label gave them writing, producing and composing freedom from the start though. It just so happens that the one time they donβt have any contributions to their music it was with Dynamite which was coincidentally the only song that ever got play listing on Spotify and Apple Music and radio play because it was in English.

(P.S. this is my first post) π Speaking of chart data, and especially for those who place more validity in streaming, check this out. US BTS Army will sort out their streaming, and once they do I suspect that many people here will wish they would go back to sales.

Streaming is controlled by the GP after the initial week(s), you can't "sort it out" because the numbers are too large to influence. How many streams LGO got is representative of how many people want to stream their music/fanbase size in the US (they are much bigger globally). Dynamite had a lot more GP interest mixed in by comparison.

Also Spotify is supposed to be released in South Korea soon. That should make a big difference in the global streaming for not only BTS but kpop in general.

Make those streams count next time you're in Wal-Mart, Target etc. put the BTS CD"s on the floor, unzip & unleash a massive yellow "stream" on them!
