Don't go around here disrespecting Brenda Lee, girl is 76 and still kicking. So what age would you define as “no longer living”? what does her age have to do with it? I’m referring, of course, to her failure to make a remix with BTS for a #1 Brenda Lee featuring BTS? LOL (anyone on the BTS generation even heard of Brenda Lee outside of this song?) Christmas and its music are rooted in tradition. Songs take years to build to become hits. Even Mariah's song was not an instant #1. Remixes featuring BTS or Justin Bieber may work with mainstream songs but with Christmas songs it may have the opposite effect.

thegreatdivine Some quick corrections for Ariana. - Yours Truly: "Popular Song" with MIKA and "Almost Is Never Enough" with Nathan Sykes also charted, both which were part of the standard edition of the album ( 5/12) - My Everything: "Best Mistake" was released as a promotional single and it charted at #49 ( 6/12) - Dangerous Woman: I'm assuming you're not counting "Focus" as part of the album, since it was relegated to a bonus track. So that one is correct. That would increase her total to 52 songs charted from studio albums.

At a time when holiday music wasn't as present as it is now (especially new songs), it still routinely made Hot 100 Airplay and the AC charts in the late 90s. When digital songs debuted in the early 00s, it charted in the top 10 (#7 12/27/03). It would have been top 10 if not the #1 holiday song if a chart was made then.

I’m very surprised that 5 classic Bee Gees songs from the 70’s debuted on the Hot Dance / Electronic Songs chart. Is this the first instance of clearly catalogue titles appearing on this chart? Also, these songs are in no way “Electronic”, which was - by definition - what has kept many other contemporary ’dance’ songs off the chart. Has the definition of what is acceptable for this chart recently changed (a la the recent Hot Rock Songs changes)?

After their respective Super Bowls, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez had some of their older hits appear on the list, Avicii had some songs appear after his passing, and some of Marshmello's legacy tracks re-entered with the Fortnite concert.

Tracking: January 6, 2001 to December 26, 2020 dated charts. Technically you are right, the current millennium started in 2001 because there was no year zero, but it just seems a little odd to leave out the year 2000, and that the convention of resetting at zero should be used, such as when we refer to smaller time periods like decades or centuries. For example, when we say "music of the 1960s," the year 1960 is always included, as is 1900 for "music of the 1900s" or "of the 20th century," even though 1900 isn't technically in the 20th century. Leaving out the year 2000 takes away many points from artists such as Destiny's Child, Christina Aguilera, or even 'NSync, who would probably make the list and seem like they are a part of this general time period.

I just thought doing past 20 years made more sense than 21 years. Nothing serious. NSYNC, Christina, and Destiny's Child wouldn't have made it even with 2000 included though for what its worth.
