I guess I'm only that wants Blinding Lights to stay around, Save Your Tears is a fine song but Blinding Lights is way better.

Love that 2 of the longest charting songs, Circles and Blinding Lights, are two of the greatest songs. I don't know anyone that dislikes either one. I'm not exaggerating by that much when I say that they're the only two pop songs by male vocalists I've truly loved in the past 5 years.

For Abel's sake, I hope it goes as far as it possibly can because he'll never score another hit as big as this ever again. I don't think anyone will for a long while, but I doubt his days of scoring big hits are done. Tbh, I didn't think he'd top the Starboy era. I'm looking forward to his next era and pair of monster hits. With that said, I hope Blinding Lights continues to shatter on all favs! The hit that made hits! Considering Starboy (the song) underperformed compared to the singles off BBTM, this is a nice payback

#StreamLevitating. Doesn't matter if it's the original, the Dababs or the Madonns version, just stream it and get it to number one for a good 2021 LEVITATING TOP 10. LET'S GET DUA HER FIRST NUMBER ONE LET'S GO #LevitatingStreamParty

It's also his biggest WW hit (before BL). When it comes to all time performance on Youtube, Spotify, AM and Itunes, it's easily outperforming The Hills and CFMF. Starboy is definitely his 2nd biggest hit

Love that 2 of the longest charting songs, Circles and Blinding Lights, are two of the greatest songs. I don't know anyone that dislikes either one. It will be more than fitting to have "Blinding Lights" alongside similarly beloved songs like "Smooth" and "Uptown Funk". Personally, I do prefer "Circles", but "Blinding Lights" is a terrific worldwide dominant song that deserves every bit of success it's getting. Of course, there will always be people who find these songs overrated (as this thread has shown), but they're definitely not divisive compared to the likes of "Macarena" or "Shape Of You". 😄

While I don't dislike Circles, it is quite meh to me. It wasn't as big in Europe as it was in the US. Sizeable hit, of course. But Rockstar is by far Post's biggest hit over here. Exactly, Circles was only a medium sized top 3-5 hit in the rest of the world, not a year end #1 level song like Blinding Light was in every country. It's also far more basic, I don't understand the stanning for it (Circles). I think its appeal can be summed up in the effectiveness of its simplicity. Another personal favorite of mine from the GOAT list that fits this same description is Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together". Both songs have pretty simple and relatively basic premises, but little songwriting cues help both feel 1. very characteristic to the artist's style and persona (from Mariah's stream of consciousness fast-talking to Post's self-deprecating bluntness) 2. specific yet vague enough such that anyone can apply at least something out of them to whatever situation they're in, thus covering universal themes many listeners can relate to - I know this could apply to many songs, but these two nail it particularly well for me) And of course, the production and vocal delivery. Focusing on "Circles" here, it has such a beautiful timeless production, evoking both contemplation and melancholy, and this tone is only stressed by Post's weary delivery. This is only my personal opinion of course, but I hope I was able to explain why the song resonates a lot for some people. But absolutely, "Blinding Lights" was such a massive global hit, and it deserves to join the GOAT list's top 10. 🙂

I can't believe Underneath the Tree outlasted Last Christmas.
Last Christmas should be THE staple Christmas song. Not AIWFCIY or RATCT. (No offense to Mimi or Brenda)

^ I enjoy both (though I agree RATCT is overrated), but "Last Christmas" should definitely be way bigger than it is.
On a similar note, while again, I do like "Underneath The Tree" a fair bit, it's feels too much like a 2010s version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" for me to hail it as the modern classic many consider. I hope "Santa Tell Me" keeps gaining more traction over the years, personally.

God, I’m gonna say this every year but I miss when everything went recurrent and we got huge jumps & new peaks on the H100 after Christmas. When the xmas freeze melted it was always exciting.
BL survives another week but at what cost

I don't remember who it was, but someone is going to be annoyed that You Say has re-entered at #3 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. Another 40+ week run at #1 incoming.

Blinding Lights Radio #8 Sales #3 Streaming #22 I know. It is very rare that a song is well-rounded on all 3 metrics, especially over a year into its run.
