Bang is #1 on iTunes again, never saw that song becoming so popular (doing great on airplay too).

People really thought it was gonna get caught in between years but it's been consistent throughout the Christmas freeze and I only expect it to become bigger.

I have a question. Given the fact that the tracking period for this week includes Christmas Day, how likely is it that "All I Want for Christmas Is You" stays on the chart this week? And if it does, would the drop be big enough to beat 6ix9ine's record for the biggest drop from #1 within the Hot 100?

I think I mentioned this in the 1/2 thread, but I don't see AIWFCIY staying on this week. The Carti and Durk album bombs will do at least some damage to the top 50, and there may be a few songs returning from their recurrent status that got swept away by the Christmas songs but have enough points to be above the threshold.

Forever After All is back in top 5 on iTunes. I don't know why it's not being pushed on radio, this could definitely be a top 10 hit again if it were.

Like, it’s obviously not THAT important, but without steady sales, I doubt that “Bang!” & “Kings & Queens” would’ve gotten so far on radio, which IS important.

dremolus - solarpunk , thank you for all the Spotify updates over the past several weeks. I can't imagine how much work it must have been to separate the Christmas and non-Christmas songs from each other and track all their numbers every day for the past month. For that, you have my unflinching respect. I'm just glad I no longer have to be tracking a hundred Christmas songs anymore 😵 But thank you all for the support as well, it really does mean a lot

When is the last time a song had a chart run like "Go Crazy"? It might be unprecedented.
Going top 10, leaving for months, then returning top 10 with a longer stay and even re-peaking. All in one chart run. No type of one-week boost like a death/viral moment/etc either.

All in one chart run. No type of one-week boost like a death/viral moment/etc either. I may not prefer "Go Crazy" compared to "No Guidance", but the song was stable through out the Christmas domination and is even expected to return to the Top 10 with some good longevity and the chance to hit Top 5 (and a chance to surpass "No Guidance"'s peak) is insane.

For reference, last year the day after Christmas, AIWFCIY saw a 78% decrease in streaming on 12/26 and was gone from the Top 200 on 12/27. Should AIWFCIY see a similar decrease when the Spotify chart publishes tomorrow, it will have about 767,000 streams, likely still good enough for the top 10 if recent pre-Christmas weeks are any indication. Another similar decrease on 12/27 will have it at around 161,000, which is not enough to chart in the Top 200 most weeks.

Will be interesting to see how Christmas music does next year. I think this year was massive because of most people staying home and not visiting with family and friends, never to early to think about it!

Big rebounds today for several non-Christmas songs on iTunes. Forever After All, Therefore I Am, Holy, Body, Blinding Lights, Levitating, Kings & Queens, You Broke Me First, Starting Over and more are all rising as the Christmas music slowly falls. Also has gift card effects. Glad to see country songs finally don't lose that much comparing to other genres because Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen are the hottest country artists among teenagers who use gift cards more.

Weirdly impressive holds for the Xmas songs.
Also surprised 34+35 is doing as well as it is, I thought it would of been more front loaded.

Will Billboard have the Holiday Songs chart for this week? I feel like they usually would not, but it would be weird to have 1-2 holiday songs on the Hot 100 yet no Holiday Songs chart.

When was the last time the Spotify daily chart number one was below 1m and below 900k?

More surprising to me than holiday songs still doing well on Spotify is how they are still in the iTunes top 10. I know those sales are small, but in the past holiday songs would fall on iTunes a full week before Christmas. That makes sense as who is buying holiday songs right around when you presumably aren't even going to listen to the song? To see holiday songs still being bought after Christmas shows how strong holiday music has become.

US Spotify numbers are a disaster I'm sorry.... Brazil and Mexico's #1s are all 900k+ (in Mexico 1M+), the US is getting outpaced fast
